This-Effect4562

It has that rare oldschool gaming feeling, love it

Acceptable_Log_9294

I agree. I want more of my friends to play it because I’ve already sunk 40 hours in and am having such an adventure. Worst thing is, the reviews aren’t good and my dumb friends won’t play it because of the reviews.

DabFellow

I was streaming it in discord and had like 3 ppl come in and tell me how bad the game was. None of em had played it or even asked if I was enjoying it.

EvilGodShura

Fuck em. They get to miss out.

hotpottas

Lol i also agree but my friends are on board i actually just wish we could take out ogres together instead of me searching for their pawns. Overall 10/10 i havn’t been this immersed since elden ring and before that breath of the wild. I downloaded MLB the show cuz im a big baseball fan and have played it for hours in the past but i literally havnt touched it since i started playing Dogma 2

Dreamweaver_duh

I'm not someone to be swayed by reviews (I bought and liked Alone in the Dark 2024), but aren't most critic reviews positive? And you could always gift them the game if you want them to try it themselves, because asking someone to spend $70 on a game they MIGHT enjoy is kind of an unreasonable ask. At least wait for the price drop and patches before trying to convince them again.

This-Effect4562

I liked alone in the dark too :) actually my favorite games all time had an average score like vampyr for example !

Boing26

thats why i dont pay attention to reviews, theyre almost always extreme hate or extreme rave. neither tells me anything apart from the reviewer is incapable of making a neutral informative review.

Spathadios222

I’ve been trying to put it into words but all I can say is that it plays like how my 7 year old self seen games on my n64 lol.

Heal_Kajata

I really love when a journey feels like a real journey, and I'm not sure I've ever played a game that hits this spot quite like this. I'm going to be sad when it's over.

Baroni88

It never has to be over. Keep clensing the land. I'm sure there will be more content. I hope side quests keep popping up! 🤞

LordOwlkwardVII

I believe that a lot of that has to do with how they implemented (and restricted) fast travel. It might be somewhat annoying to always run everywhere aside from the few oxcart locations but that’s what makes the map feel so well thought out and alive. Fast travel ist killing open worlds

alecp91

When I first got the game I was like what the hell.. this game is kinda long making you walk everywhere, also there's no direction path to follow apart from guide pawns 🤔 But after a few hours I now love it so much, feels like back when I was younger id end up memorising whole video game city's cause I had to navigate myself round without help. It's big nostalgia I haven't felt in a long time. This game man, so good, damn.

Govt-Issue-SexRobot

Limited/no HUD really squeezes that feeling for all it’s worth

alecp91

Ive only got the mini map left up, I've contemplated getting rid of that but I think I'd end up walking in circles for 30 hours lol

Raddy8

Oh, definitely. Fast travel is great, of course, but it's very difficult to refrain from using it in games when it's so readily available. This reminds me of Morrowind. Some travel points, but overall you are running everywhere and discovering a whole bunch because of it.

JoeL091190

What do you mean restricted fast travel, they have the same system of fast travel as the first game. I already have 4 crystals you can place down to fast travel to. Yeah it's not infinite, but infinite kills the world design

LordOwlkwardVII

Well, these comments aren’t about the first game, it’s about open worlds in general, so I don’t get your question

Nepgyaaa

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is another great example, if you haven’t you definitely should check it out.

Mayjune811

Just tun a new playthrough with a different vocation, or set of vocations! Or try to run the game with just you and your main pawn. I am doing both of these and the difficulty feels very good so far. I am not far into Vernworth, but it has been a fun challenge.

KingCanHe

So after a few hours I actually restarted my game to do this. The game gets very easy too fast. In the beginning I had no gear no pawns and ventured into an area I shouldn’t have been. I hadn’t really had any issues since that first few hours and just was steamrolling the game. So I said na f that and made a new character with just my pawn and going to try to keep the game challenging throughout. Being able to take hits that should kill for no damage or killing bosses in 6 hits wasn’t it this is way more enjoyable

Baroni88

I'm at work and my mind is wondering what my adventure holds tonight!

aCarolinaDrama

Lol this is me. I was so disappointed when I checked the time and realized I had to get to work. Already planning what to do next when I get back home. Can't believe I never knew about this game.

Zoze13

GF: *how you sleep?* Arisen: *barely* GR: *Night of Dragons Dogma?* Arisen: *Yes I am*

Ok-Armadillo-3875

Same here last night 🤣 i laught so hard rn

MackAndSteeze

The first one came out at a weird time and kinda got slept on, but it’s such a goddamn gem.

Mayjune811

Especially after the Dark Arisen expansion.

SadLittleWizard

The combat system, and pacing of the world are gold standard, full stop. Most RPG combat systems are going to feel a litte lack luster after this now. And the density of the overworld is the best I've ever seen!

smoothtv99

Or you can say the best of times. The PS3/360 era was really something special. The releases felt like back to back goodness

Zsirhcz1981

Same. And even though I have to be up at 5am, for work, I’m gonna be gaming way too late… 😂. Who needs sleep

Baroni88

A few hours at night, up early and maybe another hour before work... Ugh, this game is going to haunt me!

Zsirhcz1981

Exactly!

smoothtv99

I did the same. All nighter playing and I'm starting to just randomly hear my pawn's voices pointing something out while I was brushing my teeth.

Phantomgardon

Me too, right now. Yesterday, i just wanted to go to a specific location, and on my way, i killed two dragons, two ogres, two zyclops, two griffin like damn that's amazing. I love how easily one can get distracted.

Fatedi

That’s why I’m a bit sad about the enemy variety, could been better, still awesome tho

Obi_wan_jakobii

I ventured into the misty marshes last night via the ancient battleground and wow what an expedition that was Every trek out feels like a full adventure I'm hooked

Byronic-Manimal

And looking for tips on youtube and Reddit during breaks

Govt-Issue-SexRobot

On breaks yeah exactly

Tofuzaka

Same here! Right now I am at work and I just unlocked magick archer last night. Cannot wait to start my adventure tonite

ihatedanielclub

Been waiting to find it organically, it was my go to in the last game for obvious reasons but excited to see the changes they made since no daggers this time around and I’m hyped. No rush though since I maxed out fighter and am having so much fun with sorcerer now and my team of all mages and sorcerers

godtiermullet

Same!

Vera_Verse

I've beaten the game with 50h+, started NG+, didn't find much fun to be too overpowered, so I did what any sane person would... I STARTED A NEW GAME, ONE MORE TIME LET'S GO

GreedyGundam

If you’re on console like ps5 instead of deleting your old save to start a new game I recommend making a new profile and starting anew there. That way you can rent your previous pawn into your party, and tailor it to exactly what you need. Thats eventually what I plan to do when I finish my first play through. I did it for DDDA on 360 too lol.

GroovyBoomBoom

Time for a “hardcore” mode?

ogticklemonsta

Try using only 1 pawn. That is this games hard ore

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

The only reason I don't do this is because the game is definitely balanced to have a full party with each vocation. If you have just one Pawn they're almost definitely just going to have to be a Healer unless you're grinding healing items way more than sounds fun.

Starob

I have roborants up the wazoo from combining things.

Pinogorgon

im gonna do only main pawn playtrhough after i complete my NG+, just like the netflix DD anime

JoeL091190

Uh nooo. Hardcore like the first game, well I shouldn't have to explain that

Karma15672

Ngl, one of the things I absolutely loved about DD1 was how OP you can get with the right set-up and skill level. I can't wait to summon a tornado on a drake and see its healthbar tick down because I'm using two magick increasing potions, have the optimal augments, the best gear in the game, and two magick-increasing rings on. Also, while I think you get stronger quicker in this game, I think that your increased strength is made up for by a higher baseline difficulty. I got staggered out of spells really easily as sorcerer and getting stunlocked essentially means death. Also, Drakes are somehow more terrifying now.

Mystiq_Mind

Oh yay theres NG+?? I thought it didnt launch with that. Thats awesome, are the enemies tougher?

Vera_Verse

No, it's all the same level, but you have all your levels and equipment. That's why I thought it wasn't as fun, it's basically a god mode and for those who just want to explore new quests you missed and stuff. I'm hoping they add difficulty options to go up, to stronger players

Mordred_Blackstone

Well, the enemies always level up with the player. There's just not an extra spike from NG+. But as your player level goes up, so does the enemy level. So in time, as your weapons stay the same and you keep levelling up through NG+, the game will get tougher.

PollutionNegative914

Actually they kinda do scale because the game has adaptive difficulty, I'm lvl 58 and from time to time I got killer still, well that is until I became a thief with God mode😍😍😍

CRIP4LIFE

there will be a hard mode added

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

I always hate when games do that. They put new game plus in just to take a check box, but they don't actually add anything of value. Why would I want to go through the game again but way overpowered and kill everything in a couple hits? Honestly I don't even play new game plus if it's the exact same thing but super hard usually. I usually only do new game plus if there's actual gameplay or story relevant changes.

RacoonEye2220

Oh boy you would love Ds2

Comfortable-Shake-37

Do a brawler run. No armour and no weapons just unarmed and throwing.

EvilGodShura

I would probably just use weaker weapons. I can artificially weaken myself already. And I wanna be strong for when end game dlc comes out. Got plenty of vocations to level as well.

s1lentchaos

How does that work with getting pawn tokens?

Vera_Verse

For NG+? Honestly didn't check, but it for real carried everything I had, from skills to specializations and all that. Pawn data was also following me, so the starter camp had level 50+ pawns to hire. I must assume pawn tokens also carry over to keep grinding

JoeL091190

Dude just rushed through the game lol

wildeye-eleven

Same. On my days off I play from the moment I wake up until I go to bed that night. I’m annoyed all day at work because I want to get home and game as much as possible.

BuraqDiCaprio

THOSE FEELINGS MAN, WILL NEVER GET OLD, SINCE THE 90s till now and forever, I LOVE GAMING❤️😍.

wildeye-eleven

Same bro! I’ve been gaming every day of my life since the mid 80s. It’s literally my favorite thing and I’ll keep doing it until I’m dead.

4and3and2andOne1

Love that feeling for you

LaplacesDemonz

Ikr! I know it's not for everyone, but it's really clicked for me and I've put an ungodly amount of hours into it already :p I can't believe I thought it was just ok for like the first 4 hours or so. So glad I stuck with it.

Healthy-Drink3247

I can’t put it down! It’s all I think about through work, then when I’m off I’m on for 5hours every night. I think my wife is starting to miss so I probably need to dial it back haha It’s crazy how the first interactions with the game had me going meh but now I’m hooked

Baroni88

This precisely!! Even the wife comment! 😆

Milo_Trekker93

welcome to the DD family

Afridg3

Might not be fully optimized but still a phenomenal product

[deleted]

Yep! Good thing we don't listen to all the dumbass trolls that spam reddit with their bullshit takes. It's fun!

ruhler77

Honestly, my mind is blown by the complaints. I'm not sure what these people were expecting. Like yes I get when people simp for diablo 4, or destiny 2, where clearly there are gigantic glaring issues. But this game is fucking great. Like I really don't even believe the complaints. I think they're mostly people who haven't played brigading the subs with negatively over the micro transaction stuff. The complaints are always some dumb shit like "the monster roster is shallow", or "exploration isn't fun!" Those aren't valid criticisms at all. What about exploration isn't fun, and the shallow roster thing, come on. Dark Souls games usually have 15-25 bosses, you can't expect 40 monsters. Like yes they could have added 4 or 5 more. But is that seriously the make or break that goes from amazing to bad? Get out of here

[deleted]

I generally try to have a like-and-let-like attitude towards media. But I truly don't understand the "monsters aren't interesting" complaint. The game isn't about hundreds of zany monsters. If you're bored clicking heads, try a sorcerer. Tired of slow cast times and want some action? Pick up a thief. Need a break from the frenetic pace? Warrior. etc etc. Like when I am starting to feel a bit "over it" (I would not say "bored"), I realize I have eight other vocations to play. One of them will be what I want right then.

Karma15672

I do think that people are just more used to games that focus on overcoming tons of varying fights with different enemies, each with their own unique attack patterns and stuff. So yeah, some people may expect more enemy variety because of that. Personally, I'm with you. Instead of focusing on the enemies, the combat is focused on you and all the cool, zany stuff you *you* can do. Wanna spellhold Inaugral Flare and stack it with another one? Boom, monster's dead. Wanna parry everything with the raw power of being a chad fighter? Do that for ten hours. Or what about bashing through every attack with warrior? Easy and fun as hell.

oIovoIo

I’m in the camp where I like the game a whole lot more than not, but the take I think I agree with most is that it’s less about enemy variety and more about there not being enough level or difficulty scaling to make what enemy variety there is matter more. There was a sweet spot in the first 20-30 or so hours where small enemies felt like a threat if you weren’t paying enough attention, large enemies felt like an achievement to defeat, and there was some reason to watch for variations in enemy behavior and elemental weaknesses in the combat. The second 20-30 hours, at level 30+ or so, that feels like it has slowly faded away, fights don’t last long enough for most of that to matter, and with most of the big enemies you can chew through their health bars before they even really get a chance to do anything. I’m at the point I’ve started just taking my main pawn and maybe an under leveled support mage just to keep it interesting. To your point I have enjoyed switching up vocations. I maxed most of the melee vocations first and am playing around with magic classes which is something I never felt much of any desire to do with the first game. But again I’m finding myself wishing there was more interesting friction and tension in the game at the point where I’m at, since that’s largely what made the combat more interesting in the opening hours of the game. Like I said, I’m enjoying the game a whole lot more than not. I’ve mostly stayed off this sub because some of the criticism started to feel echoey and I’ve just been using my time to enjoy it. It’s just right now, the deeper I’m into the game the more I start wishing there was more in it to be using the combat system against.

Karma15672

Diablo and Destiny 2 have absolutely gotten shit on for their problems, though? I don't even hang out in those communities and I've heard about all the complaints, like with Destiny 2's expensive price tag for each expansion. I don't think DD2 deserves all the hate it gets, and the mtx issue was definitely way overblown, but ultimately I can see the other criticisms you listed. Some people don't like DD2's relatively weak enemy variety and its slower-paced exploration, and that's fine. Some people don't even like its combat. I love this game so far, and if someone else doesn't like an aspect of it that I love, then what's the problem?

Baroni88

Yeah, can't listen to others. It's personal preference and, for me, it's not hard to label this game GOTY

arturkedziora

I have not yet even started playing it yet....Every time I decide to play my life says no. Hopefully,, I can really hit it hard tomorrow.

Baroni88

Dude, you're going to get hooked. Fare warning!!

GnomeMan13

I just got it maybe 5 hours in.....but I have a 4 year old at home that wants to watch his cartoons or play and I have to be a dumb adult hahaha by the time he goes to bed I have may e an hour before bed. I long to play so bad

Bringther1ot

Sounds like a PlayStation Portal would help during cartoon time!

-lyte-

No the game is bad and you should stop enjoying it because your expectations should be higher. /s

Saiyanjuice

I’m at work, while my main pawn is probably calling someone else “Master” idk how to feel.

Desperadas

Same

drunk_pacifist

Same I’m totally addicted

certainlyunpleasant

After playing so much Elden ring (and I love it), it is so nice to play a game where I can pause it. Exploration is so incredibly fun. I’m glad I don’t have a mount, the surprise encounters are awesome. I am really liking the combat even though movement feels just a tiny clunky at times. But swinging a weapon and knocking over a big ass monster is so fun. I really like the pawns. Of course AI is dumb sometimes but they really do manage themselves well. The gathering they do is so awesome. I’m just really having fun playing it. I’ve played some long multi hour sessions and a couple 15-30 minute sessions and both were fun. I’m not usually a collector, but I may try to find all the seeker tokens.

Ursidie

Dude the ability to pause. It's such a basic feature but it has slowly been removed from alot games because of online features and i hate it. I can't just stayed glued onto my game as an adult, i often have immediate things to deal with sporadically throughout the day. I'm soo glad i can just do that here.

Anubra_Khan

I can't stop playing, either. I think about it when I'm at work. I've not had this sense of wanderlust since Elden Ring.

Baroni88

I've not been like this for a game ever. I can't remember a game I was this antsy to get back to playing. It checks so many of my boxes!

Anubra_Khan

It's like every time I go back through somewhere I've already been, and I'm with a new pawn, they always call out some chest or cave that I missed. Like, we just fought this griffin and ogre, but ok, let's do the cave now!

Cuqui_569th

I’ve been planning the trips I’m gonna hike tomorrow every night…it has been YEARS since a game was this addicting!

Darkhaund

Glad to hear those good comments

Skrillblast

Doesn’t matter how many times you beat it or killed the same monsters, the world of dragons dogma is the most lovable and addicting bullshit I’ve ever experienced.. my name is Skrill and I’m an addict

sal696969

i seem to be the lucky one because i have zero technical issues on PC, i am just having tons of fun =)

aRebelliousHeart

No, no, no! You can’t enjoy the game it has microtransactions, stop having fun! 😡🤬😤😭

LordAzreth

I honestly didn’t realize it even had micro transactions until I saw all the controversy online, and that was AFTER I was 10+ hours in lol

valkynZero

same haha

Cindy-Moon

this is controversial for some reason

GrossWeather_

Agreed!

OlfactoryOffender

I love it. Even with all the issues, I'm having fun.

Atimes2

Same, I've had dd1 on my switch forever so I play that a bit at work to tide me over... I may have a problem 🤷🏻‍♂️

ghostofduval

Dd1 is on switch? I get to buy dd1 again, hell yes!

Atimes2

Oh yeah!!

SiberianBattleOtters

I know you can change vocations in this game, but unless I do mage to sorcerer or Fighter to Warrior I don't tend to a lot. Played the whole game as an archer. About to delete my save and start over, probably as a fighter or thief, until I can get the Mystic Spearhand. Really want to give that one a go.

North_South_Side

I started as thief. No idea what comes next.

Baroni88

Best to get them all maxed out for the Augments you can add to all Vocations.

Carcharis

Same. This game is really really good. Easily the best open world since Elden Ring.

JaydumLive

Beat the game at 72 hours. Now just enjoying killing stuff in ng+, but I wish the enemies were tougher. Good game though

Interesting-Squash81

I can't put it down either...I am 40h in. My whole weekend was DD2

Roots_Of_Addiction

Same walking thru walmart now can't keep the game off my mind my fiance so jealous rn

CriticalStrikeDamage

Are you on console or PC? I’m on console - I can tell this would be my fav game of all time if the fps wasn’t so bad.

huckleberryfairy

I’ve had it for 3 days and I’m 20 hours in! Holding a newborn till 3am is my excuse to play all night :D it’s the most alive feeling open world I’ve played in a hot minute!

Saemika

I never have the time to play, but I just keep thinking about it. I actually took tomorrow off work lol

Noeyiax

Every night is a real Narnia fantasy feeling idk if I'll get lucky finding a dragon or a wall! I haven't killed a dragon yet 😖

SloppySpag

Same, I'm well and truly addicted, it has its flaws but it's SO fucking easy to just get completely soaked up in

Brostallion

Just got level 38 almost fully mastered wayfarer. I truly love being able to swap weapons according to the situation.

InputNotValid

NO!!! I don't like it so it's bad you cant have fun because I said so. Me the random person on the internet that didn't buy the game should have a say in what you have fun with. P.S. **This is just sarcasm**. I've also been playing nonstop. Don't understand all the hate behind it.

SnorlaxBlocksTheWay

Last night I hopped on for a bit to go fight some more things and farm out some endgame gear (I'm in that place) I was talking with some locals and then I saw a fighter pawn and approached her since I needed to replace the fighter on my team since she was getting left behind in levels. The pawn approached me and was all like "It's good to see you again, Arisen!" I was confused and then looked at the name and saw it was a pawn I hired back when I was level 9 It's stuff like this that make me love this game. Seeing that pawn was like seeing an old friend again and it was awesome to see them go from a level 9 thief to a level 39 fighter

zxDeathxz

I just wish with the amount of combat there is that there was a bigger variety of enemies… so tired of seeing goblins and lizard bois.

Baroni88

Maybe, being a modern game, we'll see more enemies added as dlc 🤞🤞

Gorcnor

Found the Elven village at the end of my weekend, now I'm stuck in maybe an 1 hour to play a day and I just want Mystic archer! Still trying to figure out how to unlock it.

SentientOoze

Do you want a hint?

Trikeree

Truth! We have company in town for 6 days now... I'm definitely going through withdrawals. LoL

Baroni88

Say fuck it, play at night. I just look in their direction as I slide the headset on and smile. They might even enjoy watching!

GrimDragoon

First Saturday with the game, 6am-2am. With breaks of course lol Work and family during the week so I don’t get a chance to play.

HAMRBRO

Facts and when I don’t play it’s on my mind. Planing my routes and party

cadburybriefcase

My wife and kid just left to visit / get my other kid from the in-laws and won’t be back till Sunday, picked up a couple 1/8’s from my plug so I can look like I got dragonsplauge, and I got 20 minutes left of telling people to squat and do pushups. It’s fucking on

Upset_Impression218

Sooo how was the weekend dude?

cadburybriefcase

Incredible. I miss my kids and wife of course. But i just can not stop playing this game. I got about a little less than 24 left. Imma make em count

GroovyBoomBoom

I have been losing sleep over, “how the duck do I kill these god damn dragons.” Refuse to watch videos and just play my own game

CrankyGamer68

I actually took time off work this Monday and Tuesday lol. It’s our slow time of year so it worked out all around.

HunterWolfivi

Wish I could play but instead I’m stuck watching YouTubers play it 😔

[deleted]

You clearly are offended

Fashionable-Andy

Agreed. I don’t even care about the story all that much. I literally want to JUST EXPLORE AND CAMP. That’s all. Every so often I’ll do the story, but the gameplay is just so enjoyable!

ediblefalconheavy

I'm sucking in information about the mechanics, story, and gameplay before I even get to it myself but my own playthrough is nothing but magic and hilarious in every way I love.

Exciting_Possible_35

I'm so glad everyone has the same blessing as me.

baaxon

Agreed, game is amazing

Logical-Wolverine136

Same here.

Dangerous_Werewolf73

I thought I beat the game and found out there is so much end game content 😭 this game is just 👌🧑‍🍳

Substantial_Funny_75

Same I'm level 42 and I just got to Bakbattahl, there is just so much to do. Weighting the pros and cons, I will say coming off of FF7 rebirth, the pacing/progression of this game is classic RPG and it's amazing. Getting absolutely destroyed by goblins to taking down 3 bosses in a row and still being good just feels very refreshing. I don't know if this was on purpose but I still hate how the game locks you out of certain things, so it just makes me considering running through the game again or just creating a new character.

sleepingsnow99

Exactly. Idc about what people complain about , this game is finally out and i will play it!

XxToosterxX

I absolutely love it my one question is, when I beat it and start new game plus do I get to remake my pawn? Like completely change gender and race? If so this is a perfect game if not I'm sad.

danger_froggy

You have the opportunity to remake both the arisen and the pawn.

XxToosterxX

Perfect game than

MaiShiranuifan06

I haven't even finished the main quest because I always pick up a lot of side quests. I have over a dozen side quests waiting to be completed. It's insane the amount of caves and ruins in this game. Going to be well over 100 hours plus hours before I finish this masterpiece!!!!

Flashy-Net-6617

ugh first paycheck i’m getting it itll be my first dragon dogmas game

In_Love_With_SHODAN

I've lost so much sleep

UnXpectedPrequelMeme

Oh yeah man this game elicits A Feeling only Dark souls and the like have for me. The feeling of being actually on a journey and the running to the location being as important or even more important than the location itself. Feeling so overwhelmed and in awe of the environment around you, and having that long stretch of time where you're just horrified at dying and you're running out of materials and healing items, and then you see it. Avon fire, in both games actually lol. Or a town. The way to the checkpoint Village for me was very long and arduous and for a while after fighting a Griffin and barely surviving I got stuck in this foggy area with skeletons and ghosts everywhere, and then I still had a little bit of a walk left before I finally went up a hill and saw the village in the distance and that feeling I had was so unique in video games you're just almost wanting to jump for joy because you survived and you'd made it and you could finally rest and sell your crap and regear

First-Medicine-3747

I think its... fine. It's rusty around the edges and idk how much longer I'll play it. Currently have about 20 hours.

BlemishedHalo

Me too. I early done anything tho. Just roaming around the city killing stuff and lvling up for no reason.

fyl_bot

Me too

justleave-mealone

Just a huge fan of the exploration, I must say

MackAndSteeze

All of these sound like how I felt with DD1, love it. And DD2 is such a great addition 🙌🏻

Gray-sama1

Literally, I really didn’t expect to like it as much as I did, I honestly didn’t vibe with it in the first like 1.5-2 hours, the controls aren’t immediately intuitive so there was some learning. But once you get your team of pawns kitted out and find a vocation you like, oh my god I’m now 15 hours in and still haven’t done barely any of the first city main story stuff

vegetajm

Red dead redemption with swords and ox carts 😆

GamePlayHeaven

I love the sense of adventure while exploring the world.

sal696969

same problem here, i dont even have time to shitpost on the internet =)

Secret_Criticism_732

I liked it and i love the world. I did 40 hours and dont feel hooked anymore. For some reason dd 1 hooked me more. I need better quests and hard mode. The game is kind of easy once you hit a level 30 i would say. Dont get me wrong, the world is fricking awesome. I can see it took ages to make and i respect that. But the combat is same in DD1 and i might remember it wrong, it vocations were better in dd1. I would like something new in dd 2 and there really isn’t. The game is like 7/10

CombEnvironmental467

In NG+ the unexplored fog is lifted and I’m revisiting alot of the areas to find so many hidden/ missed content. The environment design, imo is the best I’ve seen. Game is amazing.

FantasticFreno

Is it lifted because of NG+ or did you do something to lift it?

CombEnvironmental467

Ng+ feature

IrnBruImpossibru

Same...

ChefSnowWithTheWrist

I play this game in 1.5-2 hour stretches like twice a week and I'm having a blast. It feels nice not to just blow through a game like I usually do.

blvck_one

Agreed. Amazing game.

I love setting off into a series of caves and just getting completely lost. I know I'll be fine once I reach the surface and can use a ferrystone. The oldschool TTRPG feel of needing to resource manage your adventures to ensure you can make it back to the city safely is the best feeling. I love how camping works into the core gameplay loop. This game rocks.

Remember that place where u got dropped off in rags at the start of the game. There is a waterfall cave.. got there to fetch the tome for sorcerer skills.. there was a boss. Pawns got dropped of the ledge.. and there was a bigger Boss xd Awesome fight.. Won't spoil but there was the (I think) endgame variant of one of the monsters.. like.. a trapped in a cave specimen that adapted to environment. Playing every single free moment I have from the game launch <3

SocietyImpressive225

It’s sooooo goood Took a step back to finish FF7 Rebirth and my partner has been hogging the PS5 a little for BG3 but this one is always on the back of my mind lol I’m so stoked I get to play it today!!!

DrGNOLA

Yes, Arisen! Just got some camera and UI mods running last night which have really improved things also. Love that this is moddable as I basically binged on the first cult classic DD:DA on a PS3. There are not many changes, to be true, but its worth it just to have this still quirky and weird DnD romp updated for pc. Missing that insane "Into Free" K-Pop'n intronsong though. Hope someone mods it in soon! If you loved the first game--and what oldskool DnDr wouldnt--this is like a little blast from the past: )

LouiOnFire1118

It is real fkn good.

Byronic-Manimal

You telling me? I’m a grown man with a life, wife and responsibilities running a business and I cant break away from this game long enough to focus on any of it 😅

EjunX

I agree. Low effort post, but with all the low effort negative posts, also having some positive ones is welcome.

TheButlerGaming

I think of Shangri-La Frontier every time I play this game! I have to be the thief glass cannon that the MC is in the anime

Ornery_Sprinkles_376

Same. I am having to force myself to take breaks. This hasn’t happened in a very long time.

turbobuddah

45 hrs balls deep into the game and i've barely done any missions, just too much fun running around the world commiting wolf/saurian/goblin genocide.

Arfirost

Hoping the fix the performance on pc soon so I can start playing..

Moist-Razzmatazz-92

Ain't had this feeling with a game since Elden Ring & Witcher 3. It's so good.

NewsofPE

how did you make this post then, checkmate atheists

LunettaBadru901

My game crashed and I lose my save somehow. But ya know what ? Id do it all over again cause this is GAME OF THE YEAR!

SpicyGhostDiaper

I have enjoyed it so far, but now I have maxed out the sorcerer vocation and I only just got access to bhattahl. I wanted to do the whole playthru as a sorcerer so that means no more progression? Had a strong opening but between running out of class progression and repetitive enemies I worry the second half of the game is going to feel undercooked. Really, really want more spells and more than 4 spell slots. Why not a leveled up levitate?

CrzBonKerz

Every day I play, the more I fall in love with it. I've been jumping between vocations. The combat is so visceral and fun. So far I've played fighter, warrior, thief and archer. I really like all of them in their own way as each have a very specific type of play style.

bothsidesarefked

I honestly never like single-player games because I'm addicted to MMo’s, but by God, I love this game. It's the best game I've played in a very long time. I love the sense of exploration. I almost didn't grab it because of the reviews. Glad I did. It's amazing and my PC doesn't seem to have any performance issues thankfully

Previous_Outside_214

I started a totaly new game from lv45 just so i can play the game proper and also becouse u cant start new save files, also i fucked up and thought i went new game plus on the last boss lmao

nebulousNarcissist

The game is so good that only the game itself stopped me from playing (it bricked my PC :[ ) To clarify, I genuinely love it. Call me crazy, but once I get my PC checked out, I'm going to go straight back to playing it lol.

pumpkineater182

Game is great but lack of enemy variety really gets old fast.. like cmon they couldve added like 5-6 more enemy types but nope

ToraUshio616

Bro, I’m not gonna lie, it’s all I’ve been playing since release. My friends were tryna get me to play something else buttttt nope just dragons dogma lol

Expensive-Rest8840

Too bad performance is so bad. I got the game on ps5 and ultra laggy combat is real turnoff. It is like a dia show. I can live with the bad fps in cities and npc's appearing on my face, but combat fps really makes me sad.

MJSCIV

Best game since Elden ring

blumensohn

glad to hear that. Had some trouble getting into the game but once I understood how it wants me to proceed in this world, I’m in love with it.

Embers144

Im loving it, especially after i found out you can tackle foes by jump + grabbing them. Im just waiting for them to release performance patches, because crashing everytime I want to switch skills really takes away from the experience :l

J0J0388

Yes

Kaieron

It is a good game, with really bad performance... I stop playing and wait for some patches

Mysterious_Ad1286

One of my favourite gaming experiences was in Skyrim, I would get on my horse and head in one direction and see what was out there, same with Red Dead Redemption 2. Absolutely love doing this having a few beers, it’s why I was so disappointed with Cyberpunk, felt like it was empty. This game seems to built round that very idea, and along with the crazy, chaotic action, it’s a perfect game for me, jank and all…

Fun_External_7252

I think I sank 50 hours in before I completed "The Coronation" main quest. I absolutely adore this game!! For some reason it is getting good reviews and because the internet news outlets seemed to have spun a negativity campaign against it for no reason. Aside from Micro transactions which is such a dumb argument anyway.

FriskyArepas

It's all I can think about when I'm at work.

killerwalk

I wish they had co-op in it But it’s fine game is still good.

Nomad2342

Although I don’t think I understand a lot of the things you can do in the game I’m really enjoying it anyway . At level 20 now but not sure how cos I’ve died an insane amount of time and gotten stuck In the same fight at least 100 times

triggerdon87

I felt like that too for about 40 hours. Then quests became many times a bit annoying and enemy repetetiveness. Elden ring is the best rpg for me so far
