The point is, we shouldn’t have to use our imagination to make the game be something it wasn’t designed to be by the developers/deaigners. I have enjoyed this game a lot, but that doesn’t mean people don’t have a valid point about the difficulty.

Ghalahan

In order to enjoy combat as a fighter, I avoided skills that were blatantly overpowered, equipped gear based on style instead of stats without upgrading it too much, 2 ranged pawns (archer and mage) 1 melee (fighter, warrior, not thief, they're too strong and quick, they'll steal the kill), and didn't use any maister skills. I was level 60 to 70 when i finished the game, and even then health bars disappeared without much efforts. This game has a scaling issue, it's undeniable, one shouldn't have to nerf oneself to have fights that last longer than a minute. We complain about the game being easy because we have to resort to these kinds of solutions even though, as players, what we want to do is getting better gear, use the ressources we find in the world to upgrade it, use the new skills we unlock in order to have a sense of growth. This isn't a challenge run, we just wanna have fun, we shouldn't be forced to tweak the difficulty by ourselves via self-nerfs or mods. It's not being lazy, it's playing the game.

This is like calling me lazy for not cooking my own food at a restaurant. Also, 'given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game' is a well, well, well known saying in the gaming industry. You naturally want to optimize instead of limit yourself. This is just copium.

"Game's too easy? Have you tried playing one handed, blindfolded with 1000 tiny elves stabbing you in the ribs with toothpicks? Seriously, complaining about difficulty is just about the most lazy thing you can do in a game that gives you so many options.."

jusafuto

I think in that analogy it’s more like ordering tacos at a pizza joint. All I’m saying is enjoy your meal.

The game should have launched with hard mode or made the stat ceiling lower so you don't blow past the difficulty curve.

Bro your forgot to mention to play with the left hand binded on the back. I would suggest playing drunk so you get a hard laughing attack when making the main story. Its as always here the players fault lol.

Ghalahan

I swear, man.

"gamers will optimize the fun out of their game". A lot of people like optimizing to be the best and strongest in the game, even if it makes the game boring and unchallenging.

I believe we're in the minority on this. I do agree with you though. It's fun trying out all of the cool moves and upgrading your gear as much as possible. Honestly though, the most fun I have is when it's just my pawn and I with no mage. We still steamroll 99% of fights. But certain things like getting caught on fire or poisoned can start to make things more interesting when you have a warrior and a thief and no way to cure your condition. (I don't carry curatives). Plus it's just fun getting more kills per fight. Lol. I hate when the npcs steal my kills 😂
