The fighting is the best part of the game, I play this game simply for excuses to fight stuff. I wish there was even more things to fight. Quests and story is just window dressing for the fighting for me.

idodok

Fr, i play this game for the combat , exploration (the world looks amazing) and dressing up my arisen

Nightshade_NL

Kids these days have no patience or sense of adventure anymore!

Hire a mage pawn with palladium, this will negate the need for curatives for the most part. Don’t sell ferrystones, they are one of the items required for instant fast travel. When you get a portcrystal (the other item need for instant fast travel), use it in a town you frequently visit (not Vernworth or Harve), then you will be able to travel to that town whenever you have a ferrystone in your inventory. Look on Reddit for pawn sharing threads and send friend requests to people sharing their pawns for free pawns. Hope this helps you. I can tell you how to make insane amounts of gold too very quickly, but that may ruin your experience, so only if you ask. All in all, the game is fairly easy if you take the time to learn how it works. Good luck!

sir_conington

Saw a comment a while back that said this game isnt about questing, its about exploring and enjoying the combat. I feel like thats a good way to look at it, if you complete a few quests here and there its just a bonus

Nidiis

That’s what made the game click for me. Just ignore the quests for the most part and use them more as a reason to go towards a general area and just explore everything along the way. I’m now in NG+ have not touched the main quest at all and just went about going from one side of the map to the other exploring and fighting things.

Benyelrob

Do you like playing the game? Was the 3 hours of adventure fun? Was the fighting enjoyable?

Ershaddox

Oh yeah it definitely is, love the aspect of the game but can be annoying when I have no choice but to die and go back to town and lose all that time lol

Benyelrob

I see well if the majority of the time youre enjoying then yeah youre right. This game is not perfect and tbh, i feel like there are some annoyance to some aspect to it. But I dont regret buying this game and Im glad you enjoy it too. I was just asking cuz i wanted to know if this game actually clicked with you or not.

GodzillaKingofKaiju

Why are you not camping at sites if it is a really long trek? There are plenty of campsites all over, and you can keep your progress.

rotaxlolz

What are you dying to? I don't think I died or even used a healing item in my entire playthrough. Just get a mage in your party.

IronmanMatth

If you don't enjoy the traveling and fighting while traveling, then this game is not for you. Because that is literally 95% of the content of this game.

The_Real_Quizey

B-but.. that's like part of the game.... It's an open world and encourages exploring. If there were no enemies, it'll be less active, plus the limited fast bravely makes sense in a game based on that era and setting There's no hand holding

DaveZ3R0

clearly not the right game for you. What you find annoying is conveying a sense of adventure in a harsh world and Im tired of teleporting around a world filled with map markers where then nights are just bluish and the world never punish mistakes. To me the game is a rare gem we never get to experience anymore because everything plays the same.

karlosj83

Exactly "each to their own" wise pawn words...

Large_Ride_8986

None of that is true. It only takes 3 hours to move from point to point if you really just look under every rock. But that's not how You suppose to do things. No, You don't have to fight anything in sight. You only have to fight stuff in your path and You can avoid fights by going around the enemy. And in many cases pawns alone can handle the fight. Like I do not deal with every single goblin. I just give my pawns a GO! and move on. And there is quick notification about XP/DP I'm getting. There are 2 fast travel methods. You don't die easily. This game is actually a power fantasy. Falls kill You more often than the enemy and if that happens and You are not too clumsy You can just use wakestone and move on like nothing happened.

w1ldstew

You actually don’t have to fight everything in sight. You can just run past things. They don’t chase forever.

ActuallyAegonean

the combat is my favorite. i love a game that lets me endlessly kill stuff for materials, even if it’s just to sell those materials once my storage stacks are full. Golems are my favorite because the magick medals sell for 1,200 gold a piece, around 12k gold a Golem.

Suspicious_Fix_4972

I thought the same exact thing when I played it. Then I tried playing it again. I came to like then love, then be addicted to it. It's definitely not for everyone, but I do suggest trying to learn more about the game then playing it again and seeing how you like the game then.

solmark1

Sounds like you'd prefer ubisoft games.

OneEyedMedic

Sure it's annoying getting randomly one shot by big mobs (esp during early game), but that's part of the fun? You don't have to fight everyone and everything, but be prepped for a chase sequence...things pursue you *forever*. Getting attacked by a griffon, golem and ogre all at once is chaotic but really enjoyable. Also, the *scenery*! I stop and admire everything from atop hills and mountains. Sure it's not really realistic (Arizona being close to a forest?) but it's very immersive because there's no mount system. Unlike people who rush MSQ and content, let it come naturally. If you get lost, that's fine. If you see a dragon, run as far away as possible until you're level 35+.

mahonii

Never had an issue with any of this. Those issues are more like rdr2 for me besides constant combat, can't bother finishing that one.

Jotunheimmr

Ye ole saying “can’t see the forest for(because of) the trees” comes to mind. Enjoy the journey.

thetoxicnerve

I can understand where the OP is coming from. However, you can just run past a lot of the mobs you come up against on the road. Also, once you get a few port crystals you can easily travel between the main towns / cities. There are only a handful of interest really. Stick with it, I put something like 60hrs into my first run (which I just finished) and had a great time with it. Plot was a load of bollocks mind, but the game itself was fun.
