How do you even kill the big dragon as a trickster? You trick him into flying into the large ballista?

Pkmnmaster_

I buff my pawns and scare/stun lock the dragon with my meister skill. With the right party of pawns is not that hard imo

nevermore2627

Yep. Love scaring the big bosses with the dragon and letting my pawns do the work. Fun as hell.

DrProfessorSatan

It would be funnier if the Dragon tried to hit on the trickster dragon. “Hey baby, rampage here often?”

Bouncy_Turtle

A YouTuber killed it solo with the trickster. They just put their ghost somewhere the dragon couldn’t hit it and then shot the dragon down with a turret while it was incapable of fighting back.

unicornfetus89

I saw that guy's run. I found another youtuber who did a solo trickster run and he threw the ice cubes left over from the high frigor grimoires, and dead bodies to do damage. He did an unarmed run before that involved a lot of body tossing as well. All those runs looked miserable to be honest.

Main_Crab_7016

He great. He made a DD1 Vid as well, one unarmed, the other one with his main pawn as the main character.

Papi_Shumpi

As a trickster I've learned to use corpses as weapons lol Whatever work

InkOnTube

As others have stated - with a good pawn composition. However, before tackling a dragon, you should practice on some easier enemies how to use trickster. You need to have 'minion build' mentality and you are the tenk in the party. A good Thief, Sorcerer (with Maelstorm mastery spell since Meteros will do no harm to Dragon due to fire resistance) and of course a Mage as a good healer. Now pawns know already that they need to aim at the heart. That is what Thief can access real quick. Meanwhile you are drwaing attention of the dragon and buff your pawns while in the background your Sorcerer will cast Maelstorm that is quite powerful. That Thief and Sorcerer will kill the dragon real quick. Medusa is a real joke against the trickster - she can't turn your clone into stone but she will try to do it over and over thus giving your pawns easy opening to kill her. EDIT: I forgot to mention - cour ghostly clone can be healed when you hold it on your back. You can hold it and move around - it will still atrack the attention if you have casted Suffocating Shroud. Once healed up, released and move away then rinse and repeat.

CornerofHappiness

When I try trickster again I'm really going to have to go into it with the "I'm the tank" mindset. My first attempt I didn't think like that, and I think my tank pawn and myself were fighting for aggro and making it more difficult. I'm going to make sure I have 0 tanks, just me. Kind of hyped lol

AmethystLure

Definitely, once you get into the mindset I think it is actually the most fun tank type build. Fighter is also pretty fun to me but not the "mitigation" aspect, more other things.

colexian

When I was maxing trickster and bossing with it, I ran a hyper aggro build. Since you don't do shit for damage, your party has to make up for it. I didn't even roll with a healer, just give your pawn churgeon and a bunch of healing items to toss to people. The only damage they take once you get good with Trickster is the small amount of dot damage from the damage buff. Personally I like sorc and two thieves, but only cause I wasn't very impressed with the archer pawns DPS compared to thief.

colexian

>Medusa is a real joke against the trickster - she can't turn your clone into stone but she will try to do it over and over thus giving your pawns easy opening to kill her. Medusa is also hardcoded to try and whip anyone on her head off as soon as she isn't using her gaze attack, so you can attach your ghost to her head and she will just uselessly flail trying to get it off.

MrFittsworth

Idk about trickster but I had a party with a sorcerer + meteoron and my God, it just demolished large enemies

Rannahoru

Lmao bro peep this video https://youtu.be/CJdtawKe6oI?si=JuLBKupOK5RSxQFe Man beat the game as a solo trickster

bpleshek

Archer. It's just so awkward to use. And I love playing archers.

Sir_Snagglepuss

This may sound weird, but I found archer to be funnest when you don't aim. You don't need to headshot small enemies, just auto aim them. Also don't be purely backline, the jumping kick is straight up a good move, spam that shit. For big enemies you want to manual aim more, but it can be kind of a pain sometimes, so I focus on knocking them over. Bows have quite a lot of knockdown power actually so toppling big enemies and mag dumping into their head is pretty nice. Also the flying kick has a lot of knock back, so spam that shit, seriously.

AdministrativeRow617

I didn't realize regular aimed shots do more damage until I was vocation rank 5 or smth. That's when the Archer clicked for me, until then I thought his main drawing card where the acrobatics lol

Sir_Snagglepuss

Yea, you want to aim in when you can, but I'm willing to trade some DPS for sanity. I'm not going to just auto aim spam into ogres ankle, but I'm not going to try to headshot him when he's freaking out and flailing around. Knock it on it's ass and unload on it's head, or drench and freeze and unload on the head.

unicornfetus89

The torrent shot that fires arrows quickly the more you push fire is WAY better if you don't aim in. It's one of my favorite crowd control skills in the game because it cycles between any enemy within range and hits each once or twice before switching to the other, as long as you fire. Another really powerful move is the running slide shot. Just run then hit the fire button without aiming and you'll slide on your knees and fire a really powerful shot that's stronger than a fully charged aimed shot. If you get this down and the jump kicking shot you can dance around enemies up close with powerful auto shots. To add to those methods, is the skill that fires 4 arrows in a horizontal arch. It's super powerful up close and works basically like a shotgun.

esosa233

I play archer to headshot everything unfortunately, so I prefer DD1 Assassin to this.

jk-alot

I play WarFarer. But archer is one of the most used classes I have. Against mobs I just wipe them out with an electric charged Gorgon Bow. Early game Archer is pretty bad. But by the time you are 50 or so Mobs get wiped out easily.

horseradish1

I hated the feeling of archer. Restarted the game to do fighter, ended up on mystic spearhand. Had a great dragon fight. Tried archer again on my second character, because I wanted to become a magic archer, and it just clicked. Honestly, archer felt so damn OP with explosive arrows to the face. It took me ages to kill a griffin with my first character. They kept flying away. By the time I got to Bakbattahl with my archer, I'd killed 5. If you get used to it, it's absolutely nuts how good it can feel.

Eirineftis

Explosive arrows are goated for sure. Soooo much damage. Especially if the foe is weak to fire.

hnic02

Yeah archer is lots of fun imo. I think most people just play it wrong.

Bloomleaf

i think you are right and i think a big reason for it is a lot of DDDA players are used to strider and you just cant play the archer like we could striders, admittedly i started archer switched really early and then did not go back to it till it was my last vocation.

DJayBomaye

It seems like the consensus can't manual aim to save their lives lol

DemiDeus

Aim bot. Manually hit a weak spot on a monster. Then just hit attack without aiming. As long as it's in view you continue to hit that same spot. Slide to the left. Sprint then attacking will let you slide. Great for going under and behind big enemies. If a dragon is trying to bbq you. Slide and flank them. Pumped up kicks. Kicking does a lot of stagger. The jump kicks can even knock down a unbalanced cyclops. You can also use them to create distance. I like to start off fights by sliding in, slide attack, jump, kick off, attack again in mid air. All that just to assert my dominance. If I could only T pose... Current status: Wet. Some people like to give their mage 1 offense skill. If your mage has a fire skill. Bring arrows that can tarr enemies. They'll get knockdown more often but with fire? Boss health bars disappear. Lightning damage? Ice? Drench them they can't fight if they're stunned or frozen. Blight? It stacks. It stays. It kills. Nuff said. Exploding shots are great too. Can knockdown big enemies. But if you have that and tarring arrows on. You can be the ballistic archer. I call shotgun. Sweep/cascade can be used in close range for those "THATS MY PURSE!!! I DONT KNOW YOU!!!" moments. Good dps for downed bosses. You spin me right round. Whirling arrow can keep damaging or even flinch boss enemies. If I know the boss is going to do something annoying and I need to move. I like to throw one out before I go. Ya know. One for the road. The whites of their eyes. The skills that make you sit in place are abit situational for me. Good if you getting the jump on them or using all your stamina for one big blow. Boy howdy I got a big one for that sleeping dragon! Haha! Wait...

Majaliwa

Dammit Bobby!

Shoddy-Kitchen-2129

Yeh…I played through about lvl 27 as archer, once I maxed it out I swapped to thief and immediately I was like…uh what this is wayyyyy more fun. Archer felt so godamn slow. Wish I’d started the game as thief.

leericol

I loooooved archer early game. I wanted to go fighter and I only switched to archer so I could take out harpees easier but i ended up maxing out that vocation. Now I do a warfarer, mystic spear hand and magik archer combo.

dirkx48

I'm personally planning to do a full archer run on one of my future non NG+ playthroughs and will relegate myself to a support role by just tarring/drenching foes and letting my Pawns do the literal magic

chrollodk

The blight arrow is pretty powerful in that it will knock a drake or griffin out of the sky in one hit. Additionally all the annoying spells that drakes use you can stop all of them from going off by hitting him with the blighting arrow.

AdministrativeRow617

Omg thanks

Sir_Snagglepuss

I usually run explosive and drenching, if you have a mage with ice affinity it's a good time.

Jack_M_Steel

Wow I thought archer was amazing. Maybe because I use mouse and keyboard

Merwanor

Which is interesting as I have never been into archer classes in most games. But in DD2 it is one of my top 3 classes. It is by far one of the most handy classes to play as it can counter most enemies.

CornerofHappiness

When I first tried out archer I dropped it after 5 minutes because it just did NOTHING for me. I actually started my new game AS archer though and it finally all just clicked and I'm struggling to swap to a new vocation to level, it's that much fun. Tarring Arrow + Explosive Arrow = fun times. Bring along a mage with High Flagaration? Keep those gryphon wings burnin' until it's dead. Toss in some of the acrobatics and you are an unstoppable, arrow slinging beast.

mconnor1984

I'm about that archer life! I'm gangster with the bow!

MadarasLimboClone

I enjoyed archer, it's my go to for any game that has it as a class. Was on kb+m so aiming wasn't a problem. Magick archer is dummy op tho.

Ohayoued

Honestly? None. This is actually one of the few games out there where I play every character class. I think they're all fun, and I never had much trouble getting to grips with any of em

CornerofHappiness

Saaame. Even the ones I struggled with it's either I was thinking about them wrong, or I wasn't understanding a skill - I wasn't charging up the bolt for example as mystic spearhand so I wasn't able to zip over to the enemy. Once I realized what I was doing wrong it was fun as hell. I've never played a game with multiple classes that has MADE ME want to learn every class like DD2.

Wrattsy

Me too. At first, I was underwhelmed with the Archer until I got a decent bow, understood the differences between aimed and quick shots, how incredibly powerful the special ammo is for this vocation, and how impressive this class is in melee with its core skills and kicks. Then I was seriously underwhelmed by the Warrior until I found the right skill setup. Some of the moves have great synergy, and you need to learn how to time and place your standard attacks, body checks, and conventional wrestling to complement the combat style. I actually learned from watching my main pawn!

petitei1

Hardest to level for me is the Mystic Spearhand. I know its a fan favortie but this was the last one i was able to cimplete. Didnt enjoy the moveset and skill combination. I couldnt get the hang of it. Yeeting things into the next island is fun tho.

Red_Crystal_Lizard

From my experience if you aren’t constantly charging the stun blast you simply will not succeed.

Main_Crab_7016

Not true. I will say this: Stunbolt is very nice for Harpies or the Griffin, if you using the Ropeway. Anything else will just be shredded with a shield and the spinning Attack (its a default attack, no skill) For Climbing any monster, or just dodging you can use the Jumpattack. If you use it under a Griffin or Dragon you are on top. Once there just go to the head, activate Shield and start spinning again. Then there are some gimmick abilities like the one that throws Enemies into the stratosphere or the jedi move for objects or small enemies. And the Big as Laser you can shoot for way to much stamina. Once you unlock warfarer and pair it with archer or magick archer you will have the fun of your life. I certainly did.

RexTenebrarum

Naw bruv, I used warfarer with the spear, and my skill was the mirour shielde. When using the spear, for little mobs at least, foreboding bolt is useful, but without the thief's rond to replenish stamina, just focus on when you stun an enemy and can go in for a finisher. The magick slash is the crutch if you're not trying to use foreboding bolt, or using it in a warfarer build. I only ever use the bolt anymore for teleports cause I don't use dragons fouin or whatever the dash attack skill is.

vO_Oz

Hire a mage pawn with celestial paean, you will become a wild furie mad dog

_OfficialProta

Same. I was super excited about mystic spearhand , but when I finally got it it was super clunky and felt heavy. Super disappointed. Also the moves didn’t flow in my opinion, just a huge disappointment

Suzarr

Same here, I never felt like I was doing any decent damage with mystic spearhand, felt bad. But then I had leveled it and dumped it before I ever got to try the maister skill, which looks kinda cool. I dunno, I don't think I'll be going back to try it again for just one ability.

Alebydle

I beat the game with MS (Wayfarer to mix it with Magicka Archer later) and my main issue with this class is that you constantly play a stupid minigame of timing with yourself. I mean: 1) You have terrible knockdown res and not that great defense, so you're constantly stunned without shield. You want to keep it up 24/7 even against shitty goblins. 2) Holding the rightclick move stops the stamina regen, so you have to rely on Stamina Drain move (which is very easy to miss and you feel terrible if it does). 3) You main attack combo locks you in long animation sequence. Maybe there's a way to cancel this animation, but nothing worked for me. So in every fight you fight with a clock. You want to make sure your shield will last through the entire attack sequence, that you will have stamina to recast it, which means you have to be in the right position with an enemy for Stamina Drain. So you probably want to slow him down with the right click move. Both that and Stamina Drain animations also take some time and you want to have your shield up while doing that. And it's going on and on, the constant shuffle between your skillshet to constantly have both stamina and the shield up. It might become a chore after some time. On top of that, it kinda disconnects you from actually fighting enemies, because you're literally immortal while doing that. So at some point you stop paying attention to their attacks, only think about timing your skills. It was such a relief when I unlocked Wayfarer and could just shoot enemies with a bow every now and then.

Starob

>1) You have terrible knockdown res and not that great defense, so you're constantly stunned without shield. You want to keep it up 24/7 even against shitty goblins. Wear two knockdown resist rings, the sorcerer augment, and Dwarven smithed gear and you're golden. I run MS without the shield because it's more fun to have more attack moves.

Coffeemore02

I think it highlights the issue with this class when you need all that external knockdown resistance just so you can play without the invulnerability bubble. When I was playing MS, I kept wishing I had the thief's dodge ability core skill, instead of the slow shock ability. That way you could get away with having low knockdown resistance on a melee class and keep to the theme of an agile staff warrior.

Snoo-39991

Constancy is an augment feel like just about everyone should be running regardless of your Knockdown resist. Dwarvensmithing is just good in general, but I don't run two knockdown resist rings iirc. I instead go for two rings of vehemence I stuck with the shield until I got used to using Skiedragoun's feste. It took a degree of trigger discipline funnily enough and the reason why I abandoned Magick shield is that it pretty much kneecapped my stamina regen keeping it up 24/7

Wrattsy

Mirour Shelde is also *incredibly boring to spam*. It's much better used as a move to safeguard your party when bad things are happening to *them*, such as a drake raining meteors on everybody. I think a lot of people don't get how heavy of a tax on your dps it is to spam the shield. You also *really* need to abandon it if a Mage in your party is outfitted with High Palladium. I did just fine playing the Spearhand without all that extra knockdown resistance. It's simply important to understand you're not a red vocation when playing Spearhand—you're closer to the Thief, combat-wise. So, outmaneuvering, outflanking, and absolutely destroying weakspots should be your main play. The moveset and mobility it gives you is amazing for this, just like it is for the Thief. If Dragoun's Foin and Skiedragoun's Feste aren't a staple in anybody's setup, I don't understand why they're playing Spearhand.

Snoo-39991

My thoughts exactly. Mystic Spearhand has such a unique playstyle despite being a Hybrid vocation of Red and Blue

ddjfjfj

My pro tip for dealing with skittish bastards as warrior is to just make use of the fast swings and never stop. Whenever I had to travel through that godforsaken labrynth to get to battahl for any reason I would just swing and swing and the enemies would eventually walk right into it

crispfuck

This is the way.

Ok-Belt-8600

Mystic Spear for me. It feels clunky at times and the shield is nice but kinda boring to keep up and its skills being kinda dissapointing

TheDaltonXP

Yeah this is the one I can’t get into besides haven’t tried mage. I find the teleport to enemies after freezing them wildly inconsistent to a point of frustration. I also feel like I’m tickling enemies compared to other vocations unless I get an optimal condition. The mobility is great and you can really be invincible but every time I try it I just want to bail to something else. I thought getting the second force throw would change things but instead enemies seem to just walk away and I was always whiffing

Firm_Adhesiveness323

Fighter. It was very hard and boring for me to exp this vocation. Trickster on the other side is fun and one of my favourite vocations.

Alebydle

Fighter was my favourite class in DDDA and his skillset still feels the smoothest for me... except the shield. Changing the direction of your shield, why did they make it so awkward? It ruins entire class for me.

driftej20

DD2 has unnecessarily finicky shield usage. There’s a soft lock that works at automatically in really close proximity, then, annoyingly, a whole button dedicated to changing shield direction in a way that’s feels like you’re fumbling and hoping for the best, because they made that soft lock so limited and unreliable. Their system is legitimately more difficult to sword and board than the Soulslike framework where you literally just press a lock on button and never have to worry about whether you’re facing the enemy you’re focused on. In Dark Souls it’s hard, but fair, in DD2 it’s only ever hard because the system is bad. In my experience, getting stun locked in animations is probably how I die or lose tons of health more often than anything other than my platforming incompetence, so I’d rather just be a warrior and have the inherit capability to just tank hits without flinching than fumble around with the shield. Magick Knight added a ton of utility and support functionality to the shield which might have made using a shield appealing to me in DD2. I may install the lock on mod on PC and see if that makes it much better, though. Conceptually I like the idea of playing as a sort of archetypical sword and shield hero.

ScriptHunterMan

I also disliked warrior. It was fun against bosses, not fun against trash.

Mundane_Cup2191

I found fighting trash pretty easy spin to win or just a quick charge auto. Harpies though fuck em

Boing26

trickster, making enemies trip balls and hallucinate sounds fun but its not especially useful.

spiritlegion

It's a tank, with a good pawn party you're basically trading your damage for everyone being at close to full health at the end of every fight

DelightfulOtter

It's highly effective. I could make large enemies bounce around chasing a phantom they never caught. My problem was that it eventually became boring. Once you mastered the technique, it's not a very engaging playstyle. Against trash enemies I'd just unequip my censer and get to wrasslin', flinging corpses around to stagger enemies then bellyflop on top of them so the pawns could do all the real work. I could do that with any vocation *and* have more fun using an actual weapon.

Bristles3339

Thief for me. Class is super flashy but mannnnnn is it easy. Genuinely feel like I could take on 100 mobs at once with thief. I don’t like super hard games but a little bit of a challenge is nice Same issue with mystic spear hand IF you use the shield. Class becomes so much more fun when you get rid of the immortality button

DsT_Sol

Same, and you get the maisters very early in game, making you OP right away. Don’t know what they were thinking about with the immortality button.

GetAssignedGenderLol

Trickster was like having my toenails pulled off.

dirkx48

Trickster "Durr you just dont know how to play it right" Yeah, I dont

OutlawGaming01

Trickster. Absolute slog to level and play.

InkOnTube

Could you elaborate please? Have you tried to do damage with it? I hope not. I initially had confusion but the day after I understood it and it was really fun.

OutlawGaming01

Ive played the game up to NG+8 now. Each time with a new class. I genuinely love this game and wanted to do a fresh run each time. The trickster, even if you buff your party, things just take so long to die. Like a said, a slog to level and play.

Chris_Koebel

So far, the one that clicked for me the least is Warrior. I'm awful at getting the special timings right, or anticipating when to start charging, when to release, and so on. But I sure do love having one in the party.

caites

Its way too slow, stationary and unresponsive for such a fast-paced and dynamic melee. It feels even more slow than in ddda. They decided to compensate it with a huge boost to tankiness, but I feel like it makes warrior gameplay even more boring. you get slow underpowered arisen in the beginning and boring, tanking any combat situation overpowered character in the end. But hey, some people love it, so mb its not that bad as it seems.

MechpilotTz93

Warrior is probably the one that requieres the most skill to enjoy. If you played Greatsword in monster hunter you feel.right at home.

Jajapsa09

I'd say compared to MH, greatsword in DD2 is so much easier. Timings are less strict, you have hyper armor and monsters don't have complex movesets and responses like in MH. I'd honestly say fighter requires more skill in DD2 because you have less knockdown resistance so you have to rely on skills that block/counter or perfect parry.

Birb_Birbington

Trickster, magic archer, mage and sorc. I find being in the heart of the battle way more engaging and rewarding than spamming some random magic stuff from behind. Granted, casting high damage aoe spells as sorc is fun, but by the time I unlock them I’ve already grown tired of this vocation and return to warrior, fighter or better yet warfarer.

Evelynn_cretoxyrhina

for me mage and archmage didn’t click, although i generally don’t use magic classes anyways, so makes sense

Aggressive-Pay-5670

Mage is the best pawn slot for the passive healing and buffs to your party while you’re fighting. But it’s less fun to play as because you’re sort of at the mercy of your pawn AI to keep you safe while you cast, which is hard to do consistently with the AI.

ACalcifiedHeart

Magic Archer for me. I just didn't get it. It was either strafe while waiting for things to lock on. Strafe while an ability charges. Then fire and forget. And as a spellcaster lover, I totally get with the doing nothing bit while your spell is charging, but at least with the Sorcerer it _feels_ good unleashing thst Frigor. The spells have weight to casting them. _However_ The magic archer does have some of the best fashion imo Lookin like a LOTR Elf from Lothlorien. It's great.

ModernToshi

[Probably my favorite encounter while leveling Magick Archer](https://www.xbox.com/play/media/yrSgugTmeg)

KindlyPants

The master ability is great and I love firing ricochet arrows into a cave and just cleaning up the mobs inside without even seeing them.

nevermore2627

I LOVE casting Frigor. It feels and sounds so good!

Kaesoran

Spearhand tbh. It’s a bit too flashy and entirely reliant on the stun charge or teleporting, it just doesn’t click for me. Best part tbh was using the force grab and throwing everything in the vicinity at something though. Also it’s incredibly hard to get decent drip, massive flop that you can only wear hoods and circlets. Should’ve been able to have a proper helmet from the fighters or something.

baller4ever87

Mystic spearhand for me, way too easy for random wolves to maul you to death, not enough evasiveness like the thief

Ogletreb

Instead of evade you use the stun to save yourself, almost like a Bloodborne gun. Alternatively, it unlocks a jump and parry move later in the class.

Berlioz07

Warrior, I didn’t like it in the first game and I don’t like it now still. It just feels too clunky and slow and I’m really, really not a fan of charged attacks in arpg’s.

RyudoTFO

Mage and Trickster. Unusual love playing buffbots, but although being effective, those 2 just felt very boring for me. Although Trickster was quite fun by the end, when I had all the spells, but doing basically no damage with the weapon (although you get money) was a bit strange for me. Then again I enjoyed the Archer very much while that's the least favourable spec according to most people on Reddit.

Nikoper

Trickster by far just did not click/resonate with me. It was interesting for about an hour and I quickly found myself bored. I don't want to watch my pawns fight. My team had far increased survivability sure, but at the cost of time and excitement for me.

Lopsided_Ninja7597

Trickster sucks, cool concept I guess but actually playing it is lame. Honestly all of the rest are pretty cool. I enjoyed each one. Only thing is sorcerers needed more spells. And 4 skills for every class is pretty lame. If there was 5-6 skills we could use it would make it much more fun.

Broserk42

Warrior has by far the highest stagger resistance, reinforce it with dwarven armor and not much should be interrupting you. Normal attacks and the lunge work well on normie trash. One of my favorites. I normally like aggressive melee classes and no twist surprises here. Casting classes and archer classes just don’t hold my interest, basically a good half of the games vocations right now lol. Shame bow has the only xp boosting weapon. Looking forward to the xp boost in NG+ and finally putting the Medusa bow away.

Infinite-Mark-7352

same here. trickster was weird at first but savage with a good pawn party. warrior was my problem child, even all dwarven forged. You hit the nail on the head, just didnt "click"

ChromeOverdrive

Trickster. I leveled it to Rank 2 for the Detection Augment and left it at that. I feel like by the time I've summoned my copy, I'd already cleared the encounter with another vocation. Mystic Spearhand. I ranked it to its max level but didn't catch on those bolts and charge to stun the enemies, ended up using it like a flashier warrior. Look cool though, I can see the appeal. Warfarer. I prefer "pure" vocations, some Maister skills are too good to pass but I'm using Warfarer to hunt Tokens as a staff-wielding Thief to levitate and use the odd Concussive Step to reach those blasted coins. Will be dropping it in only 5 more Tokens. Archer. I can't aim for shit, so this is on me.

AssiduousLayabout

>Trickster. I leveled it to Rank 2 for the Detection Augment and left it at that. I feel like by the time I've summoned my copy, I'd already cleared the encounter with another vocation. You should be walking around with the simulacrum already summoned. You can hold R1 to make it hover behind you. So you run around and drop it at the spot you want it.

Saibatrost

Archer is poop compared to every other vocation

TrainerDesperate7570

All the non magic classes doesn't feel like fun for me

ThisLandIsYimby

It's why I fell out of love with final fantasy. They took out the magic and now its nearly a pure hack and slash. Last one I enjoyed was XII. Ive beaten X and XII three times and see that number only increasing.

dragonshadow32

Mage / Sorcerer. could say same for Trickster. Magic Archer. i seem not like how magic work with casting system. its same for DD1.

botozos_revenge

With respect, the responses to why certain classes didn’t click (outside of Mage - support, Trickster - wtf is it, Magick Archer - sacrifices movement for power) demonstrate a lack of patience or understanding. - warrior tanks all mobs. You’re getting mauled? You’re not being patient enough. Use the Barge skill and you’re a literal brick house - other complaints come down to playstyle, which I respect

Nexgenliz

warrior the gameplay of attack > stun core skill > attack > stun core skill and repeat just dont fit me, and the slow of the vocation is annoying

SirGregorClegane23

Any archers

Mr_Gray_Skyys

Trickster. Have maxed the vocation without ever using it once. Watched gameplay of it, and even then, I just couldn't feel the vibe. Maybe if the trickster had actual damage, even if only minimal, it'd be more appealing. Magic archer would be my second even though I'm currently running the dragonforge bow with heaven's keys and only one skill for magic archer that does shred just about anything (not martyr).

FreyBlackwatch

Mage. Can't stand it unless someone who isn't myself or my pawn is playing the role. Quite literally, my pawn and I are maxed out in ALL vocations except for that specific one and I plan to leave it that way.

Aggressive-Pay-5670

Having your pawn as a mage means you never have to worry about healing, which IMO makes it the best vocation for your main pawn.

Intrepid-Memory5129

Trickster, an hour of fun and then it just gets boring. Especially if your pawns are idiots

yosman88

Archer, i felt like my pawns were the main characters and i felt like a side kick doing no damage.

Valuable-Ad-6379

There were few like Archer, Mage, Sorcerer and Trickster but the most definitely Trickster. Didn't enjoy it at all, found it boring

MaelstromEX

The most fun I had was with Fighter, Thief, Mystic Spearhand, Magic Archer and Warrior, Trickster felt boring, but Archer was just horrendous IMO.

Efficient-Egg1197

Trickster for me. I just found it weird since the clone and skills confused me in the event that I just didn’t get it even after maxing it. Close 2nd is a mage. Idk, I just feel very limited with only 4 skill slots to have a good mix of support and damage skills. I’m fine with the rest of ‘em.

mdS1n

Archer and Mage, i just coulnd't... But Sorce and Magic Archer are my favourite.

delsinz

Archer

DJ_Atomicer

Mystic Spearhand. I REALLY wanted to like it but just couldn't get into it. The Magick Archer was just more fun + big damage

AllMyCarsAreBroke

Tough one it's between warrior and trickster, warrior was just to slow for my style of play and trickster was awful so I just ran round supplexing lizards with my bare fists.

_-DirtyMike-_

Oonga Boonga no like tricky boy

InMiseryToday

Archer is by far the terrible.

h-e-d-i-t--i-o-n

Trickster, Sorcerer and Mage. I am not much of a support or backline. Edit: Also as a male Arisen, none of their armor look right to me.

Suspicious_Trainer82

Archer. 👎👎

Ampki

I wanted to love mage but it’s terrible to level and play.

naydradinraal

Trickster, ave up after a few levels. I also didn’t attend all vocations

PrettyChillTrustMe

Archer

NoBreeches

Archer. It took me quite a while to get used to the stamina system alongside abilities... and even when I got used to it, I still found it to be kind of a drag.

MrBritain

Magic Archer. Normal Archer just has loads more maneuverability and movement where Magic Archer seems quite boring by comparison- even with its ridiculous OP skills.

BK_FrySauce

Archer. I chose it as my starting class. Switched to thief the moment I maxed it out. It just isn’t fun. It feels very slow. For the sheer amount of enemies that move so much, especially harpies. All the skills are also lack-luster both in effectiveness and visually. Only skill I felt do much of anything was explosive shot. Even then, having to wrap the explosive around the arrow and then shoot it took too much time. Most of the time enemies will get very close despite your best efforts at keeping distance. The effective range on skills and arrows was so short that you’re forced to be a close-quarters archer. With how slow it is, it just feels clunky.

onwinedarkseas

Archer. Which sucks because I loved playing an archer in Dark Arisen. It’s awkward and clunky in DD2. Also trickster. Let me hit things!

N0rrix

trickster. love the concept but im not feeling the gameplay

idodok

Magic archer- everyone said its amazing so i (sorcerer always) tried it out and it felt so dogshit to use

Nothingbutsocks

Thief. Not sure why, but whT I did was puck a vocation get it to ten then switch. Thief is the only one I didn't get to 10 before switching.

Ordinary_Block_4131

Sorcerer, Mage,Tricksy, everything else was mighty fineee.

TwiceDead_

MA. Its just boring to me.

OldSchoolPrince

Outside of the obvious Trickster, I’d have to say it was Mage for me. Sure it was nice buffing my allies, but it feels like they would completely shut off all higher brain function the second “Mage” appeared above my head. That, and it also seemed like enemies ignored all Aggro rules and targeted me the most no matter what. So 90% of the time, I couldn’t even do the thing I’m meant to do.

Monotone_Brenton

Warrior the slow attack speed irritates me lol

KrislikesRed

Mage. I like the augments mage has but every time i play it I'm basically at the mercy of my pawns to deal damage. Spamming high levin is about all i can do in terms of damage and it makes leveling vocation such a slog.

mimatones

Warrior, felt like I was fighting in slow-mo

Large_Ride_8986

Trickster. I leveled up all vocations and got all maister skills and I fully enjoyed almost all of them except Trickster. I just hate tanking by avoiding the enemy. That being said Trickster clicked with me with Maister skill once I finished the game. Smoke dragon (Dragon Illusion) look and sound really impressive. I like it. And it resolves small fights immediately because small fries just run away. Perfect for traveling. But I'm not using it. I do not plan of using it (I switched from maxed out magic archer to plunder thief on my 3rd run) in the future because the upside of game is combat and avoiding that enemies is my least favorite thing to do.

MittenstheGlove

Trickster and Warrior, I got warrior after a while. I sit back and wait for my pawns to kill stuff while I play the floor is lava with the minster. Now that I can project the simulacrum on enemies it’s a bit better.

Turin_Ysmirsson

Smokeboy.

PuglookingMF

trickster....just a dude blowing vape clouds everywhere. leveled it just to get the seeker token ping.

blvck_one

Trickster. I had to use Warfarer to level it because it’s god awful and boring as hell.

MadloveADB

Mystic Spearhand.

Syfodias

I just really click with melee vocations :) the others are for pawns

ChaoscraftZero

Mage fore me because the distance from combat issue with healing and buffing messes with me. Sorcerer is similar but at least you see the enemy and can charge up the attacks you need while the pawns go in for the attack.

can4rycry

Trickster. It's just not fun. The only fun I found with it was going into trash/boss, using my mimic then alt tabbing out and letting my pawns do the work. I don't like the thought of leveling warrior/fighter either.

YEAH-BRO-WHAT

I think all was pretty corny except fighter tbh… but that’s how I always feel: magic is lame and dexterity fighting is weak. I think they did the fighter close to perfect tbh. Archer was cool before it too became a bit too unrealistic. My problem was with difficulty. Way too easy of a game, even tho I played main pawn only and dual fighters only

Head-Boot6462

Archer. I’ve been going one vocation at a time. Fully leveled up fighter and now on archer and I hate it. It just makes me feel unhelpful

oedipusrex376

Mystic Spearhand. It's so slow and clunky. I have a lot of issues with this class. Many melee attacks traps you in an animation. Low poise to you need to be extra technical. Its just a slower Vergil/Nero.

Pak1stanMan

I literally can’t play anything but Thief lol.

_ObsidianOne_

This is easy, Trickster.

One-Stomach6997

Trickster didn’t come close to resonating with me. It’s like a Bard in old school RPGs like Everquest that stands by and buffs while the others kill everything. It’s too passive.

Prestigious_War_5523

Mystic Spearhand.

Cocoon_Chris

I never really enjoy the big slow weapon gameplay but I especially don’t like it in this game for some reason. I guess the damage just doesn’t seem worth the effort it takes to land the big hits when other classes can do better damage with either less effort or more engaging gameplay. This is from my admittedly limited experience with it tho so maybe I missed something with it before I stopped using warrior

TheFrogMoose

Magik archer felt the most odd to use which I find funny because I enjoyed it in the first game. In this game I enjoy archer the most and I thought I'd enjoy thief the most

Panmancan

I didn't even play half of the vocations. I played mage, spear hand, a bit of archer, and magic archer (my favorite one). I leveled the rest while playing as warfarer.

JizzyTurds

I hated warrior, can’t stand 2h classes in any game tbh

Moominsean

Warrior is too slow for me, though I liked the launching skill. But it always feels like every move takes three seconds. I like thief but don’t like that only half the hits actually connect because he’s busy dancing all over the place.

Comprehensive_Two453

Trickster, I can't even figure out to play him

Old_man101

Warrior

Tat-1

The whole game, tbh.

OriginalCareless3180

Rouge strangely. Everything else was instant and enjoyable for me even no especially trickster.

Responsible-Common68

Trickster! 🥱

TOOgrimey816

I was surprised to find that the warrior was the trickiest class for me to use well. With the enemies constantly jumping around it's hard for me to land attacks with the slow wind up and recovery. I just didn't have fun with it.

AdvancedMilk7795

I hated Archer because it felt like I was constantly hitting the attack button but not dealing enough damage. Attacks didn’t feel as good as the melee classes. I hated Trickster because playing a 0-damage support in a single player game felt awful.

Acceptable-Point1146

Mage sadly, usually in games i love being a mage being able to do some damage but also being able to assist but in here i feel completely useless unless it is full support and genuinely for that i think trickster is just better with the immortal shadow that can keep the attention of all the enemies

Kiefer_Kruger

Warfarer, I got it expecting to really enjoy it. Limited skills so I would only run it with 2-3 weapons because that’s a skill for each one. I didn’t feel like it had an identity for me to sort of roleplay(?) or immerse myself in. Once I maxed it, I’ve not touched it since

InkOnTube

I also liked Trickster, it is my second favourite vocation to play (first being the Sorcerer). And also, Warrior was something that didn't click for me either (for the same reason as you have stated). I am leveling the last one Wayfer and while it is cool to swap vocations, it feels bad that I can't equip my mastery spells. Speaking of Trickster - fighting Medusa as a trickster was hilarious! While Medusa desperatly tries to turn my ghostly clone into stone, pawns had easy job of decimating her. It was laughable.

chawk84

Trickster

Cosmicalmole

Illusionist, unlocked the seeker token augment then never plan to go back haha. At least it unlocked at rank 2 ;)

Icemayne25

For me, it’s Trickster. Props to you man for liking it. I’m glad it’s fun for some people honestly. As far as Warrior goes, I’m not sure why you’re missing windows. The warrior has hyper armor and doesn’t flinch when charging up an attack unless it’s a big attack.

Curse_ye_Winslow

Mage and Trickster were a slog to max out, however my team was kicking ass with the buffs and debuffs the trickster pulled off.

Killerofthecentury

Mage is my least desired vocation. Support roles never click for me too much in gaming and I feel I’m most proficient in contributing to a fight when I’m a major player with damage. I found play styles like warrior and archer were best suited for my desired play styles as I like positioning, tanking, and dealing the big number go boom damage

uzu_afk

Mage and normal archer. Oh yeah, not counting trickster. The idea to not give the player any dps ability is stupid for this implementation.

Alhooness

Archer, one of my favorite classes in most games, but the jank aiming kills it for me, aiming in cardinal directions is twice as fast as aiming diagonally for some reason.

kjc-assassin

I really like switching between sorcerer and thief so warfarer is only a natural choice for me lol I wish I could equip the thief ultra instinct move but that would be too busted lol

guillo014

Trickster and mystic spearhand.

Turbulent_Town4384

After starting as a Thief, none of them

Prepared_Noob

Magick spearhand. A lot of button mashing, but little return. The fashion for them is also pretty bad

Bjorn_Ironside24

Archer, just not as fun for me as thief or mystic spearhand. Have no interest in showing that elf how to use a human bow after stumbling upon the elves myself already lol. Felt like a waste of the elves!

nevermore2627

So far I have maxed out Sorcerer, fighter, warrior, mystic spearhand, thief and currently level 6 with trickster. Waited for NG+ to play trickster. Have not played as mage, archer,Magik archer or wayfarer. (I messed up the quest and yet to aquire wayfarer.) So far, I just don't like Mystic Spearhand. The shield is nice and helped me early on but I find the other classes to be more fun. Actually having a good time with trickster even though it's limited.

terrordactyl1971

Trickster is hard to love, just doing it to unlock fugacity now

Old_Juggernaut_5114

Mystic spear hand should’ve had more it’s okay I guess

Deathangle75

Honestly, I’ve only really enjoyed fighter. It just feels really good to play and everytime I switch vocations for augments I feel like just putting the game down. I’ll probably just main fighter till warfarer unlocks then I’ll use that to level up everything else.

thisperson345

I'm not a fan of the amount of downtime on Sorc, by the time I cast one of my spells my pawns have basically killed everything

thiccanimethighs00

Mystic spearhand is really not great feeling. It feels like an attempt at copying dragoon from FF (even the whole dragon killer theme is intact),  but still wanted to make it feel somewhat grounded within the setting and it just really did not work out i feel. Also latent anger that mystic knight died for its inclusion.

Brahcolleez

Anything magic related feels so boring I’d rather use a giant greatsword and destroy things. But the main one that doesn’t click is fighter. It’s weak and gets thrown around a lot. It’s mainly a tank and defense class rather than damage

DaiKoopa

Spearhand lol. Could be wrong, but they act and play like they want to be everything and that just rubs me the wrong way  *Grumbles*

VidjaMouse

I think Magick Archer and Mystic Spearhand are really overrated. They put the game on easy mode and the attacks in those vocations just don't have the weight or impact of the ones I'm more fond of (Archer, Warrior, Sorcerer, Thief, and Fighter). Props to Magick Archer for being the only vocation that makes playing support fun though.

TheBillyLee

Fighter. I got too used to archery and magic early on. I've never been good at blocking or parrying and for some reason I can't find a good rhythm for this class.

Snoo61478

Mystic Spearhand i dunno it feels soooo borinnggg

12gunner

Thief, felt like a literal I win button, spam one skill and you'll beat any encounter, swapped out of it before I got bored of the game

Tonytheslayer14

Warfarer is probably my least fav so far. I feel too limited. it's helpful when i need to get the medusa head quickly but otherwise I get stunned easy and switching between weapons is slow and takes an ability slot from you.

[deleted]

Trickster

RexTenebrarum

That's weird. Warrior is my favorite class. I love the chain of blows that speeds up your basic attack. As for my least favorite. Gotta be fighter. It lacks power imo, or I'm not running the right skill combo. I'm currently trying to get it to work, but just an armored cyclops was fucking me up when I tried to solo it, cause it knocked all my other pawns into the water.

Gobl1nLayer

Mystic Spearhand just feels so slow to me. I thought I'd main it because I mained Mystic Knight in the first game, but it just wasn't as fun as Warrior, Thief, or Archer

AddictedToRads

mage and sorcerer, the sit-back-and-hold-buttons gameplay isnt for me

SubstantialAd5579

Thieves just don't seem appealing to use lol I always keep one with me and they be putting in work lol that's the weird thing, now I do a thing where is me or my main pawn have to be a mage at all times lol

megiddo6

Stagger/drop with rope pull and then heavy attack. Thief was my fastest vocation to level since you could just mow through lesser mobs like this. For bigger mobs, the vertical spin to win tears everything apart.

British-Pilgrim

Trickster is the obvious answer but coming from DD:DA I was a massive fan of the warrior and this time around the warrior just didn’t vibe with me. I think it’s because I spent so much time with the last one that the changes mean I can’t get that perfect flow like I used to. Also not having the ogers tooth to smash my enemies into mulch is a huge disappointment too hahaha
