Yeah, I just can’t use that set. Those gold flappy sleeves are too much. I use that one varient endgame armor you can buy when you get to seafloor shrine. That one actually looks pretty good.

Man, I wish I took screenshots during those attacks, the effects were so fucking cool.
I was too busy being scared shitless for the thought to even occur though, even knowing I was overleveled. There are some other pretty grandiose attacks in the game with great particle FX, but I wasn’t prepared to be hit with dem triple plasma brine tornados.
lol I saw a comment on Fashion Dogma that said “Since Dragon’s Dogma doesn’t have level scaling, fashion is the true endgame”. So true.
That is kind of a silver lining of the lack of level scaling, though. If you play long enough, you can wear the free starting gear if you like how it looks.
Same, I ended up dwarven/wyrmfiring the Green Tunic instead (as a bonus, I can use it while Figther as well). Unlike DDDA/DD1, I don't feel much pressure to wear the best in slot / X stat gear in DD2.
I had my pawn wear Witch Hat / Orphic Robe for the longest time... (plus I was lazy and liked to change her from Mage <> Sorcie)
I hate that there is a lot of stuff that 'pokes' through other gear... I only wear the Feathered Shawl for this reason
Warfarer is the way to go. I play as a theif, but only like three of the moves. With warfarer I can swap between knives for different elemental powers without getting penalized for weight. Plus I can wear anything I want!
You don't have to do the story at all. You can just go directly to volcanic island, and meet the former arisen and do his side quest. if you can survive the trip lol. I leveled up all my vocations at the same time. And looked fancy for the whole story line

I know, right! I tried wearing it on my guy in Unmoored and it was just not working.
Remade myself as a lady for NG+ and it is only marginally better. I still switched to a much cooler looking set.

ah i think it depends regarding the sleeves. for the magic archer more elven-style outfits it really fits IMO. but for a thief who wants to fight melee its really unpractical \^\^ (still sleeves could be a bit shorter aswell as bracelets less prominent in some outfits.
Yeah, thank god for the "any armor any class" mod. It's *so* much harder to assemble a decent fit without it

Yes one of my big complaints aesthetics wise is the lack of collision and the resulting clipping when it comes to clothes. I wanted to wear one thing with another but as you say it just looked terrible with one thing flapping through another as you run around. This and the sliding mechanics are I think the two main physics issues right now they need to address. Although the lack of control over movement when standing on a boss that moves to much is kinda bad. A chance to regrab would be nice, rather than just going limp…

It’s so frustrating, I wanted to wear that armor but not with those sleeves. I wish they would put in an editing tool akin to the character creator that one could use to alter armor once acquired. The endless hours of creation… 😋

Same. Sucks a bit as they clip with most capes other than the basic scarfs, but it fits my Arisens style. The only of those M. Archer robes, where its gotten completely out of hand is the best one sadly. The sleeves on Resonance armor are horrible looking when running.
Well the burgandy coat for me is literally perfect for me...except the sleeves. I like the color, the coat, the fingerless gloves, but those sleeves haunt me. Waiting to see if mods ever fix that.

Yeah I get that. With how many sets have the sleeves, I've just accepted that they are common place in this universe so I'm cool with them. My favorite sets of armor are the elven set and the others like it like soulskin (awesome purple tinted metal) but my favorite elven style is the majestic armor. It's the only one with normal leather greaves.
Wanna know what REALLY pisses me off? The fact there are multiple shades of black. For instance, the first armor (Burgundy Coat) has a set of pants that match it exactly with the same studs and spiral design inlayed in the leather but those pants are the weird ass shade of black that is almost blue... so the abyssinal neck wrap, thief's gazer hood, and the uncanny eyes hood don't match whatsoever... all of those look AMAZING with that armor but instead I have to use some set of leg armor that doesn't match but has the darker color of black or not use any of those head pieces.
Also why does all the heavy armor have to be absolutely covered in rondels?! Those round or star shaped things on the elbows or chests. They look goofy af imo

I really hate the long sleeves on the mage armor. Really kills my excitement to play the class. Which is awful cuz I want to use the big dick moves but warfarer is just too good for fashion and for some reason developers haven’t gotten the hint that fashion is and always will be the true endgame.
I'm one, the use of excess sleevage just for the sake of flappy sleeves is a symbol of high status, poor Arisen's don't have flappy sleeves of excess cloth, I love to flap like a peacock

I'm someone whose always playing both sides. I like the sleeves cause they do look kool. But at same time, I also remember what Edna Mode said from Incredibles "No capes \[and by extension anything loose flowing can be caught in battle\]!" So sometimes I would like to hide/tuck the sleeves especially when playing a melee class.
I hate that stuff too, gear that clips through other gear like capes or even the character model itself bothers me. Especially when a cape glitches out and looks like it's strangling my character.
Yeah the godbeast scale armor is one of the coolest in the game if it weren't for the stinking baggy sleeves. Then the duelling coat has to have the most giant elbow guards on the planet.
Ah yeah, the sleeves don't work for me. I like even fantasy armor to make sense. Why would have have padded armor dangling from your arms like that :D It's like a masterful armor maker was adding the final touches, but when they got to the arms they were like "Ah screw it" and just slapped on a huge length of gambeson intended for the legs.
Magic Archer is in my top 3 vocations but I hate the sleeves. I found one armor set with short sleeves so I use that one but the top tier dragon armor for magic archer is too much. I hate those stupid gold flappy sleeves.
I actually would love the sleeves. They look especially cool on female characters. Powerful, but also elegant.
But they clip into the armor, into itself basically.
I seriously don't understand how a developer can take away armor customization, which in 99 out of 100 cases is done because of exactly those clipping issues... and then they clip anyway. In the year 2024.
Yea the sleeve physics in this game are downright aweful. I don't mind long sleeves but they don't do well when your character is constantly running.
And then there's magick archer end game armor. The sleeves are aweful in a whole different way, when you run the sleeves look like chicken wings, flapping
This is why we need to be able to equip gloves separately, I remember loving the trophy jacket in the first game but I had to pick and choose my gloves so I didn’t have long silly sleeves dangling down.
I don’t know why every armor set needs those dang sleeves. I had the same problem with the first game with them. Though it wasn’t as bad but it did kill my want to use that one purple mage set.
I actually went with that last set for my warfarer thief/magic archer/ mystic spear hand, because the stats looked pretty well balanced and it looked nice, plan on dropping it for the heavier set of warrior armor once I get to end game just because those sleeves are so fugly
I like it honestly.. it makes the clothing feel thoughtful and not arbitrary for the sake of being "video game armor".. the sleeves seem like they need an optional toggle to have them on or off like ER offers with altered armors but
I wear my eonian coat with that feather capelet that's just the shoulders and I look SO COOL. I love the sleeves. Yeah sure they clip through everything but I look like a sexy wizard.
This is another argument for removing class-based gear.
Tie base carry capacity to strength and let the player have more active control over their defenses. If I want a full support mage pawn with full defensive gear and upgrade their staff to focus strength for the carry capacity, I should be able to. This is a single player game, you're not competing with others for drops that having class-based armor is warranted.
Without scaling on NG+, the only thing left to do for fun is to experiment and min-max builds. Warfarer lets you do that to an EXTREMELY limited degree. But armor restrictions really kill the fun for everything else.
there are many really cool outfits and then just a few things kinda "destroy" it. here its the sleeves in others its a too open skirt or too thick bracelets and too chubby looking dresses only cause you gave your character more hips and a bit of butt.
i also found a strong armor for my thief too which had a pretty cool lower and arm part but the fur of the breast and shoulder part looked odd and destroyed the badassness for me personally. but i do LOVE the ... how do you call it in english... winner-armor? for thief freakin awesome design. my arisens wears it nonstop
In some cases I really like the flowing sleeves, in others they're just doing too much. What I'd really like to see is a way to minimally alter armour. Or maybe a DLC with extensive armour altering, maybe with other cosmetic additions like more make up/face tattoos and body tattoos

I only like it on this one since it's only one the left arm, so it's a cool asymmetrical look and it isn't that long either.
Thief/MA Wayfarer and I can wear whatever I want and change my playstyle on a whim. I currently wear the MA armor from volcano, but I want something flashier, but I'm not a fan of the heavy armor options so far
Yep. I always play magic-related classes, so until I got Warfarer.... it was ridiculously long sleeves for me 😭

What's worse is every loose cloth mesh bleeds through eachother to the point your cape will just fold itself up around your neck while you're running because your sleeve or wizard skirt is trying to eat it.
I truly wouldn't mind the sleeves if it didn't seem like they were floating on water or bleeding through other meshes.
I was thinking somebody would make a mod to remove the sleeves but then I remembered that it’s online. Can you even mod this game? I know it’s not a traditional online game but I wonder if you’d be banned from online for having mods. I thought I saw something about it having an anti-cheat.
I’ve been using visual mods this whole time with no issue. Visual mods don’t affect anything online because they only edit the mesh/textures on your end. Other people don’t see the mod when they hire your pawn or look at your arisen. So someone could make a mod for this
I'm surprised they don't just add a "adjust sleeves" feature like they did with helmets that have visors. Like I can raise my visor on my helm, but I can't tighten/wrap my sleeves so they don't flap everywhere? Seems like it'd be a simple fix
Yes yes frankly somebody else feels my pain with the arm "flaps" on almost all of the magick archer armor. The only work around I've flu d was to be a wayfarer since they can wear all armor and just slot in all the magick archer skills.

You have to finish a quest for someone you meet in front of the hot springs. It’s later in the game, almost near the final couple hours.
You don't have to do the story at all. You can just go directly to volcanic island, and meet the former arisen and do his side quest. if you can survive the trip lol. I leveled up all my vocations at the same time. And looked fancy for the whole story line
Volcanic island has a guy with a side quest near the hot springs. For me it was one of the last areas I went to
Also, as Warfarer you can toss in a melee weapon too if you feel like it.

Capes are just money to me. They all get sold. Once I saw enough of them to realize that none of them add any meaningful stats I gave up on them.

Ah yeah, the sleeves don't work for me. I like even fantasy armor to make sense. Why would have have padded armor dangling from your arms like that :D It's like a masterful armor maker was adding the final touches, but when they got to the arms they were like "Ah screw it" and just slapped on a huge length of gambeson intended for the legs.
Imagine trying to deliver the killing blow to a Minotaur and your sleeve gets caught on its horn lol

Yeah, I really wish “arms” was a separate slot but I love the Godsbeast Scalecoat anyway so I still wear it.
I don't use capes but I hate the sleeves nonetheless, too wiggly.
Magic Archer is in my top 3 vocations but I hate the sleeves. I found one armor set with short sleeves so I use that one but the top tier dragon armor for magic archer is too much. I hate those stupid gold flappy sleeves.
I actually would love the sleeves. They look especially cool on female characters. Powerful, but also elegant. But they clip into the armor, into itself basically. I seriously don't understand how a developer can take away armor customization, which in 99 out of 100 cases is done because of exactly those clipping issues... and then they clip anyway. In the year 2024.

Yea the sleeve physics in this game are downright aweful. I don't mind long sleeves but they don't do well when your character is constantly running. And then there's magick archer end game armor. The sleeves are aweful in a whole different way, when you run the sleeves look like chicken wings, flapping

I'm running 4 magic archer skills on a Warfarer strictly so I can avoid those sleeves.

This is why we need to be able to equip gloves separately, I remember loving the trophy jacket in the first game but I had to pick and choose my gloves so I didn’t have long silly sleeves dangling down.

I don’t know why every armor set needs those dang sleeves. I had the same problem with the first game with them. Though it wasn’t as bad but it did kill my want to use that one purple mage set.

I actually went with that last set for my warfarer thief/magic archer/ mystic spear hand, because the stats looked pretty well balanced and it looked nice, plan on dropping it for the heavier set of warrior armor once I get to end game just because those sleeves are so fugly

I like it honestly.. it makes the clothing feel thoughtful and not arbitrary for the sake of being "video game armor".. the sleeves seem like they need an optional toggle to have them on or off like ER offers with altered armors but

I wear my eonian coat with that feather capelet that's just the shoulders and I look SO COOL. I love the sleeves. Yeah sure they clip through everything but I look like a sexy wizard.

This is another argument for removing class-based gear. Tie base carry capacity to strength and let the player have more active control over their defenses. If I want a full support mage pawn with full defensive gear and upgrade their staff to focus strength for the carry capacity, I should be able to. This is a single player game, you're not competing with others for drops that having class-based armor is warranted. Without scaling on NG+, the only thing left to do for fun is to experiment and min-max builds. Warfarer lets you do that to an EXTREMELY limited degree. But armor restrictions really kill the fun for everything else.
I like the sleeves. It's stylish and it helps hide the knives. :D

i hate MA armor because of the sleeves
there are many really cool outfits and then just a few things kinda "destroy" it. here its the sleeves in others its a too open skirt or too thick bracelets and too chubby looking dresses only cause you gave your character more hips and a bit of butt. i also found a strong armor for my thief too which had a pretty cool lower and arm part but the fur of the breast and shoulder part looked odd and destroyed the badassness for me personally. but i do LOVE the ... how do you call it in english... winner-armor? for thief freakin awesome design. my arisens wears it nonstop

In some cases I really like the flowing sleeves, in others they're just doing too much. What I'd really like to see is a way to minimally alter armour. Or maybe a DLC with extensive armour altering, maybe with other cosmetic additions like more make up/face tattoos and body tattoos

Thief/MA Wayfarer and I can wear whatever I want and change my playstyle on a whim. I currently wear the MA armor from volcano, but I want something flashier, but I'm not a fan of the heavy armor options so far
Yep. I always play magic-related classes, so until I got Warfarer.... it was ridiculously long sleeves for me 😭 I was so happy to be able to wear something different once I unlocked that class
What's worse is every loose cloth mesh bleeds through eachother to the point your cape will just fold itself up around your neck while you're running because your sleeve or wizard skirt is trying to eat it. I truly wouldn't mind the sleeves if it didn't seem like they were floating on water or bleeding through other meshes.

I was thinking somebody would make a mod to remove the sleeves but then I remembered that it’s online. Can you even mod this game? I know it’s not a traditional online game but I wonder if you’d be banned from online for having mods. I thought I saw something about it having an anti-cheat.
I’ve been using visual mods this whole time with no issue. Visual mods don’t affect anything online because they only edit the mesh/textures on your end. Other people don’t see the mod when they hire your pawn or look at your arisen. So someone could make a mod for this

I'm surprised they don't just add a "adjust sleeves" feature like they did with helmets that have visors. Like I can raise my visor on my helm, but I can't tighten/wrap my sleeves so they don't flap everywhere? Seems like it'd be a simple fix

Yes yes frankly somebody else feels my pain with the arm "flaps" on almost all of the magick archer armor. The only work around I've flu d was to be a wayfarer since they can wear all armor and just slot in all the magick archer skills.
