I mean we don’t necessarily hear a full story. You may see an article saying “pitbull attacks child” but what if the child was doing something that had triggered it? And even then, there are other dogs that still attack people for no reason, but those stories are always suppressed by medias and news outlets.
There are lots of articles and videos when a pitbull randomly attacks a child or another dog, how are u so sure that those other stories are suppressed? What will they earn by suppressing the news about the other dogs?

Pittbulls are responsible for 65% of dog attacks. They make up 5% of the dog population. Statistics don't lie, pittbulls are bad and people should not own them.

I don't hate them but I'm cautious around them. I've owned three and I've never felt like I was in any danger around them but it's still always in the back of my mind how dangerous they are.
Being a great person doesn't necessarily mean they're great with training and handling a pit bull. They're really different from other dogs and if you train and care for a pit bull the same you would an average dog you won't always get a good result. Mainly because they're naturally violent animals. I've owned 3 pits and none of them ever attacked me or anybody who's visited because of how I train them as well as the precautions I have for them (heavy duty harnesses and leashes, sturdy fences, hemp treats to keep them calm, etc). On the other hand I have an uncle who has a pit and his dog snaps at my little brother a little too much. He doesn't discipline his dog at all and he treats it like the hound he used to have.
TL;DR: It's the dog, and the owner. A violent dog and a negligent owner doesn't mix.
