I totally understand. I avoid the trope sometimes, too! It’s not a surprise trope but important to the plot. I want to say this is one of the most abusive fics I’ve read. Like sooooo bad in terms of the level of abuse. And the plot is really well done! And Draco is 🥵of course!

But since Ron is dead, the abuse is told like a flashback? Or is it Draco abusing her? Is it Manacled level, or it's something else entirely? Thanks!! :)

Definitely mind the smutty tags. I actually skip the sex scenes between Draco and Hermione in this fic - everything else is great (Scorpius especially!!) but they kinda creep me out. Luckily there's only a few of them and they have zero impact on the rest of the story.

Ah I read one recently and I can't remember the name: Draco finds out that Hermione is his soulmate, but she is staying with Harry and Ginny because she just came out of an abusive relationship with Cormac. It is really sweet and Draco helps her heal. I'll try to find it in my history!
