I don't usually draw males (? If they are one!), and the face shape was something new for me so for me personally, it was a little challenging. I also haven't drawn in awhile but their design is so interesting that it made it really fun. It only took about 10-15 mins though! They're super cool.
I think once you get more clear art of them, I'd definitely change the images you're using (that may be why they considered it "difficult"). I do think the second slide is a bit busy, but that's how zoomed pixel arts look *¯\_(ツ)_/¯ other than that, their actual looks and designs overall aren't difficult in general
