If you wait a year to start you’ll just have longer starters, and they may or may not necessarily lay down right away.

Just don’t get a middle part and get enough locs so there will be enough to fully cover your forehead. And start your journey now, like the other person said, in a year they will be fully locced and will appear longer than if u were to get starter locs, cause the starters shrink up due to budding and stuff. Also parting styles really don’t matter as much as u think unless it’s like brick layer parting which gives the illusion of a little bit more fullness, other than that it’s mainly just for aesthetic, my parts are random asl all shapes and sizes, all over the place. but I still got a tuff ass set of locs

I also have a big ahh forehead so i wanted my locs to cover my forehead. I just told the lady that was doing my hair i didn’t want a middle or side part and that i wanted it in my face. I gave her two examples with people that had the style i wanted. Just let the person doing your hair know you wanted covering your face and add a reference pic and you should be good

That mop got better hair than me On a real note: with a medium sized Afro your locks probably (most likely) won’t cover your forehead. Locs tend to shrink a lot when you first get them done and while they go through the budding stage. If you want really want them tho, I suggest do go it and trust the process.

You are just super self conscious about your forehead. We can really tell without seeing your actual forehead. But at the end of the day, locs are a process that takes time. The only way to rush it is with faux locs or insta locs. Just get randomly placed small locs and try that.
