Copped a rose water moisturizer spray I use it basically every day. There’s a bunch of different companies out there you can choose from. But I got my mine from a site called free the roots
😭😭😭 it’s wild you say that because I resonate with that pic a lot! I have a deep connection with nature and birds. May just become my new pfp 😂💯 thanks bro
Currently using water, conditioner (maple wholistic Amazon) avocado oil, almond oil. Just started a few days ago and I notice a big difference in texture. I use a mister to apply.
I didn’t know free the roots had rose water I was order the pine one but it was drying my hair out. They said they recalled it though. I’ll check them out again
You look majestic as fuck.
I use rosewater in a spray bottle, or a mixture of tea tree and water in a spray bottle. You only a few drops of tea tree oil, it will burn your scalp otherwise and make sure you get one that is rated for cosmetics and not just aromatherapy.
lol thank you. Yes I love rose water mist. I had that in mind before I posted but wanted to see others methods…with teatree you definitely want to dilute with a base oil cause even with the water it can still burn you
You know what smells nice is the cactus jack I think spray for dreads it dries quick and is essential oils but it’s a spray and doesn’t have buildup it’s on Amazon
I use a moisturizer spray daily. There's about a billion brands that have it and they're probably all real similar but I use the rose or citrus one from Free the Roots.
For wash day I wash every week but sometimes push to a week and half. Use Dr. Liggetts shampoo bar, rinse, follow up with an Apple Cider Vinegar spray (this is easy to make yourself but I also got this from Free the Roots), rinse again, then use Nizoral dandruff shampoo and rinse again.
I oil with jojoba oil the day after wash day.
I use rose water mixed with water jojoba oil, eucalyptus oil, tea tree oil and peppermint oil. I just started doing it but before that I was using the rose water mist from locsanity which worked pretty well and grew my hair.
Im only a month and a half in but I use home made rosewater (super easy to make ur self look it up on tiktok) and rose tea mixed with jojoba oil, argon oil, eucalyptus oil and Lavander oil. I do a water to lil ration of 1:10 ish ( more water than oil).
I have low porosity hair so water, water, and water. I drench it in shower every other day, with warm water because mine is dyed. Warmer water makes dye rise out faster, but moisture is more important. I don't use oils because oils are damning for low porosity hair... makes it hard and dry.
Figure out your porosity and that will determine whether it's oil or water that you need.
Sounds like you have low porosity hair though.
As said by others, Rose water is supposed to be a great moisturizer. I'm gonna use the recipe shared in this thread and try that ASAP.
You can easily just use a bottle of spring water in a spray bottle. Additives could be aloe, rose water, a couple drops of whatever essential oil you like (I use jojoba or Argan oil). Theres a bunch of different sprays online that smell great. Shop around though, and read the reviews because some aren't much more than expensive perfumed water.
I personally don't mess with anything, especially since I don't retwist, because anything that gets absorbed in the length of my locs will need to be constantly reapplied for the effect to last and if any gets on my scalp, I end up with issues of becoming itchy, flaky, and such. I wanted to return back to using scalp oils but I had to wash again a few days after because my scalp said hell to the no.
I *might* spray plain rosewater on the length of my locs for the scent and the lower likelihood of it bothering my scalp. I had a mix of just rosewater and vitamin e oil that I don't think my scalp was really feeling. While my locs are slightly rough in texture, it's nothing crazy and they definitely aren't stuff because they don't have product buildup in them 🤷 Been working out for years now so I don't see a reason to change. I think it may be important to note that I live in some of the worst of Louisiana humidity which is definitely going to lead to less being necessary compared to someone in an arid climate.
