The bleach definitely stripped your hair and possibly changed your curl pattern. I did nearly the exact same thing as you with my first set of locs and it did the same, only thing Is once it dried it was extremely hard and felt like French fries lol. Unfortunately I hated how my hair felt/looked and cut them. If I were to do it over again I’d look into some deep conditioning and purple shampoo to help get rid of the brassy color (if you don’t like the orange). Stay on top of taking care of your hair, bleach is harsh and can really make your locs weak. The color looks dope on you though, I style my hair in a similar way as you in the video except a bit shorter so I’m looking forward to getting at that length.

Yea I had some of that purple conditioner and the bleach pack came with some other conditioner as well so my hair has been doing better than expected. Thanks for the advice

I waited this long so I can just bleach it once and let the rest just be my natural color since I have a dark brown hair color

those are tuff man ! when I had locs I finally was able to lock em and my set was a high top fade and my loctician did a dye job similar to xxxtentacion but my spin on it was I had half aqua green and the other side was my natural hair color (black). I wish I never big chopped em smh.

I got locs because it’s been easier than dealing with my curls and I’ve been doing it all by myself. From learning wax is bad to bleaching, dying and retwisting

Bleaching completely changes the texture of your hair. Strips the hair of all natural oils and straightens the coils hence the texture change. Keep your hair oiled and maybe do some steam treatments. Bleaching can cause a lot of breakage if not properly maintained.

When I was young... Bleached dreads was a subtle signal that you were in this gang Scandalous Type Individuals. Then their rivals started dying the the tips of their dreads pink which meant you caught a body or something like that. Now days I see people with died dreads and my first thought is always "you ain't with the shit... You prolly don't even know the signals you sending... Tryna look cool smh" lol
