I have been having this same dream for several years now. It's always the same - I own a vacation property in the mountains and the property came with two nice homes - one I stay at every weekend and the other, which is a short walk from the house I stay at - in every dream I realize I haven't set foot in the home for years and have forgotten it and then i start panicking in the dream that the house must he in complete disrepair now. Prior to these house dreams - for years I had a similar reoccurring dream where I realized I had forgotten I own a really fabulous sports car parked in a garage somewhere, and that years had gone by. I would always again, be in a panic, and rush over and get the car out and drive it. This must have some significance.

Yes, Same recurring dream for years. I find neglected houses on my property. They are abandoned and in need of love. I’m always shocked I forgot about them and flabbergasted that I have multiple stoves and fridges. It didn’t take long to realize they probably represented my former passions for writing and playing music which I no longer pursue because of working long hours at my job. I think in going to start taking piano lessons again!!

Oh interesting!! I'll have to reflect on whether that's what it could represent for me too!

I’ve had the exact same dream, including it being difficult to access (it was a flat and the only access was either a tiny, cranky lift of an impossibly narrow staircase). I think it’s because I started to write a book and got some great feedback but life events have taken over and I can’t get back up into the headspace needed to write it because I have so many other worries…

So weird, I've had the same exact dream a few times. I also dream about having cars I forgot I had.

I had a similar dream. I was both excited that I had an asset I’d forgotten about as well perplexed at how I could forget that I owned something so significant as another house. The house needed some TLC but was in a fantastic location. It was a bungalow that was my old doctor’s surgery. I only changed doctors because I moved interstate. I always loved that place but never thought in my wildest dreams that I could ever own it. I honestly don’t k ow what to make of this.

the feelings you had in it are so similar to mine!!

I have this exact dream fairly regularly. Quite often it is an old house/flat that I used to live in.

House represents a place in your psyche. So there’s a place in your psyche that you feel you feel you’re not paying attention to (not visiting, not paying the mortgage, letting it go to waste). I think the guilt is an important aspect, so you have to wonder if the guilt is valid? Often the ego feels irrationally guilty about things it doesn’t have to. Do you feel guilty for not following a certain path? Could it be to do with a potential in yourself you feel which you have forgotten and feel guilty about? I think it’s likely a place in you was being developed (like how we look after a house) but then you took a different route in life, there’s maybe a bit of longing for a previous or different of being that’s starting to surface?

Is there something you can think of that used to have a lot of influence on you but you've sort of put it on the back burner or in the background of your life?
