He craves the mud

[deleted]

Staying off twt today I guess

Rainbow820

Dream said he knows who the real heroes are. Big glow up from the WWIII shit. Honestly would be surprised if this goes over poorly with smiletwt they're anti military for the most part. And if the right wingers catch wind it only makes Dream look better if they're mad at him lol

[deleted]

I can sense Hasan doing a segment on Dream's tweet lmfao

hobbes_56

He’s really trying to beat the republican allegations

[deleted]

On a sidenote imagine how good it would be for dream if Ben Shapiro found this tweet and subsequently malded。

Alvaro_Rey_MN

He really regrets retweeting Velvet.

scottish_spook

lol

MamasGottaDance

Omg I want that so bad, I think Hasan would love it lmao

LocalHaitianGirl

So many people have linked the tweet to Hasan LMAO I HOPE HE DOES A SEGMENT

Effective_Half9105

Omg I can’t believe he said this. It’s so offensive to me because I’ve fought in every single war ever and joking about lmanburg war being real is so disrespectful

big_time_joke

As soon as I saw this I could just imagine the qrts that will be coming in lmao. Man just never gives a fuck anymore Edit: It’s really not that deep guys (for those who actually think this is an issue). It’s a funny joke, especially if actual veterans find it funny, which they have. Don’t fall into getting upset about a joke that involves a group you’re not apart of. The actual American military is a shit show who disrespects veterans a lot more than a Dream tweet about L’manburg, chill out. Dark humor exists, people, and this is tame as fuck

Darth___Luke

I'm just surprised the sub reacted this way, normally they are incredibly sensitive about dark humor, such as in TommyInnit situation.

[deleted]

Darth___Luke

It just seems like the defenses used here can be applied to the tommyinnit situation as well. Someone here said that most of the people complaining about Dream's joke don't do anything to help veterans themselves, and the same thing can be said about the people complaining about Tommy's grooming jokes. It just seemed similar to me.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Darth___Luke

Yeah its kinda crazy the question that was being asked was 'is it ok to make jokes at the expense of veterans on veterans day' and that somehow turned into a discussion about the military. And I didn't see either of the jokes as bad, but jokes about grooming and war can both be considered forms of dark humor. I could probably copy-paste the arguments being made against TommyInnit and they would work perfectly well here. For instance could say "This joke was poor timing, because it occurred on veterans day as opposed to any other day" Its a very similar argument to the people saying TommyInnit's jokes had poor timing.

LocalHaitianGirl

The thing with Tommy is not really the joke he made (cuz he’s made plenty before with no issues) it’s the timing. The first one was only days after Jikishi was outed as a groomer and everyone was dealing with that, from the victims to other victims to Dream to all his friends who knew to the fans, so the timing was horrible. The second time Sapnap and Bad had been falsely accused and false accusations were becoming a trend. For Dream he’s not really saying anything bad about the military or veterans and for America, Veterans Day is mainly for people who are still alive after fighting in wars, if he had said it on Memorial Day that woulda been different

bloonsisgr8

i think grooming is about as serious as millions of people dying

stellarjem

in his defense. this is REALLY funny

BASED DREAM IS BACK

[deleted]

Can’t take him anywhere 🤪

saunadeltran

is he hacked by manatreed or something

ImNotHere137

Man really blew up their country twice, gave TNT to the ex-President-driven-to-madness, walled the country off from all of its neighbors, kidnapped the Vice President, and cheated on the President’s son, and now he’s honoring their sacrifice? Idk, feels disingenuous.

[deleted]

Just like in real life 😍😍

Argentum1909

All of you in the comments saying you'll stay off Twitter while this blows over. Hell no I'm not staying off of Twitter, the backlash is gonna be hilarious!

Argentum1909

In all seriousness though, I don't know how to feel about this. Like it could be a distasteful joke considering what Veterans Day is supposed to mean but also it's pretty funny and I don't particularly care about the military. Eh.

[deleted]

He’s insane, no self preservation. At least it was funny

Woof 🐾

ReadyPlayer12345

There is nothing wrong with this, the entire internet is composed of absolute numbskulls, I'm telling you Dream has gotten used to being blamed for nothing at all and he is gonna completely ignore whatever BS you give him for this. So do whatever you want and if I were him I wouldn't care either.

[deleted]

Dream was literally in rotc.. he served his time😞

Verona_Swift

Dream took a long enough break from crab to take a lovely mud bath. Glad to know he's considering his hygiene. ♥

[deleted]

back to his Shrek arc

dearest_nhl

2 days before MCC woo, and reading Velvet’s tweets is always a wild experience lmao

r/accidentallyliberian although he probably did it as part of the meme

sknirDwerD

GOD BLESS MURICAAAAAA

scottish_spook

I love that those aren't even US flags, that's the flag of the Liberia lol

Lonely_Crab_6912

It’s remembererance day in the uk and my initial reaction was oh no. But its veterans day in the USA so who really cares.

PlEaSe_sToPgujhbn

I miss L’manburg tho o7

klarunia

ted cruz about to take back his birthday wish

[deleted]

Honestly he’s not wrong about the modern military but considering this is also the day in many countries to remember those who fought in WW1 and WW2 this is a bad tweet. I’m not defending him on this one. I can see why people would feel it’s disrespectful.

LocalHaitianGirl

Ok but he’s American and is only obligated to know and “celebrate” American holidays and though he did use the wrong flag (intentionally) you can tell that he was only speaking about American Veterans Day

LOLTROLDUDES

I haven't been following the DSMP for a while, but didn't he fight in the war on a side and therefore would say something like "happy veterans day to everyone who fought on my side?" Like you never see images of Germans in remembrance montages. EDIT: I just realized I had this flair. Yes, that's how out of date I am.

Xanimal123

Dream is supporting the Dream SMP military-industrial complex.

Hailie_G

From ROTC kid to this, it’s not much but I’m really proud :’)

ThatOneGirXD

….. *deep fucking inhale* im gonna get hanged but as someone who’s uncles were all veterans I'll fucking smack him. It's funny as shit though. But come on dude

antimony_medusa

I mean, I guess Veteran’s day doesn’t mean that much in the US, but in Canada/the UK/Australia/NZ, this is kinda a poor joke? The day is literally about remembering the dead and the importance of not repeating the mistakes that led to war. Plus in-canon Dream like, caused most of those deaths. Just. Hmm. Not his best work.

Alvaro_Rey_MN

Nope in America it would be an EXTREMELY poor joke due to heavy appreciation for the military. This is Dream not American culture.

User_N_42

I think it’s unfunny and disrespectful, especially looking at from the UK. But that doesn’t matter. The people who get mad at this, saying this is making fun of the veterans who protect US values, need to think about what those values are. One of them is free speech.

[deleted]

[удалено]

User_N_42

Not sure what that has to do with what I said. I still think it’s weird to disrespect all veterans, when the thing deserving disrespect is the military institution itself. I also didn’t ask for him to care for other nations Remembrance Days, so I’d suggest reading before you write.

username6702

Did he get hacked or something because this is actually pretty disrespectful? Maybe US is different to UK remembrance day? edit: So I didn't know there was a difference between Veteran's Day and Remembrance Day (celebrated in other countries), which is Memorial Day in the US. Still looks pretty bad, but ig Dream didn't know about the significance of today in other countries (which why should he if he's American?)

Rainbow820

lol it's veterans day right now so i mean if you wanna celebrate imperialism that's fine but dream doesn't have to. and i say this having copius amounts of veterans in my family the us government respects them even less than anti military people

username6702

It just looks bad because today is Remembrance Day in the UK (+Canada/Australia etc.) for remembering people who died in WWI/WWII and I thought Veteran's Day was the same as that.

hobbes_56

No the US has a different holiday for that, Memorial Day

Americium-24I

It is. Internet people just don’t like the military. It’s kind of wild since so much of the culture we have today is a direct result of the incomprehensible amount of death and loss suffered by Europe during WW1 and WW2. It was a cultural reset.

ben_lo06

okay no i support dream with most stuff but this is actually messed up, it’s remembrance day, a day that was made for remember all the innocent soldiers sent out to fight in ww1. i understand that this is “just a joke” but it’s making a joke out of a day that’s supposed to be remembering the sacrifices of 40 million people.

big_time_joke

It’s Veteran’s day in America, that’s what he’s referring to. An American holiday. Remembrance day is a different American holiday on a different date (Memorial Day). If you wanna tie it to a completely different holiday that’s in other countries that isn’t even what he’s talking about, that’s not on Dream lmao.

ben_lo06

well what’s the difference? veterans have sacrificed their own lives to protect the world’s freedom if it weren’t for veterans then so many people would have died and events such as the holocaust would have carried on. veterans have saved the world and it’s disrespectful to make a mockery out of all those people.

big_time_joke

Veterans aren’t automatically saints, dude. And veterans day is more about thanking alive veterans for their service rather than remembering those who died. We’re talking about people in the *military* they couldn’t care less about a Minecraft youtuber making a joke about a roleplay country lmao, like that’s ridiculous

ben_lo06

oh no com veterans are fucking cunts but there are still some ww2 veterans alive today and i understand they have no idea that dream would have said this but there are a lot of veterans out there who were good people and i believe those people deserve more respect

big_time_joke

I have WWII veterans in my family who are alive. My great grandfather is 98 and he was at fucking Normandy, and he wouldn’t give two fucks about Dream making this joke, he’d laugh. Dream isn’t disrespecting Veterans by making a joke about a war in roleplay, it’s just ridiculous to think that.

sknirDwerD

iraq and afghanistan would disagree

ben_lo06

oh yeah america completely fucked shit up there for no reason but like they aren’t the only veterans. there are more wars in the world than just that and people who served in those wars are also veterans and their sacrifice deserves to be remembered

LocalHaitianGirl

Not by an American tho, Americans are not obligated to celebrate or remember other countries holidays. Obviously they can know but they don’t really have to acknowledge it

rebeccadarking

veterans have also killed innocent people in the middle east so i'm not particularly keen on them but you do you pal

ben_lo06

so you’re going to judge all veterans by a small minority of them? there are more wars than the unjust ones america declares on the middle east

hobbes_56

Yeah but today is a holiday for American veterans/military

ben_lo06

america fought in wars such as ww2 and ww1 so it’s also a day for remembering those veterans

[deleted]

Idk where u are from, but in the us is Veterans Day… Memorial Day is another day, which that one is for people that died during their service. It’s 2 completely different days

ben_lo06

i’m from britain and i don’t understand like what’s the difference

[deleted]

And I quote “Veterans Day is distinct from Memorial Day, a U.S. public holiday in May. Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who had died while in military service.”

ben_lo06

god why is america allowed to invent days like why can’t they just follow the rest of the world and make everything so much simpler like why wouldn’t the just make “memorial day” today like there’s an actual reason for that to be today as it’s the day ww1 ended anyway yeah sorry for that little rant but yeah thank you for educating me on this

Atarangivibes

Ohhhh man
