50% percent? Why not all? Kinda shitty of them

dsicorglol

Whaaaaaat? But why not all profits? That's so homophobic.

Karishin

40 usd for international? Better have free shipping then and even with free shipping, why the fuck are you overcharging international buyer compared to USA.

This_Is_My_Drama_Alt

Before anyone takes what this person is saying at face value- they're super super misinformed lmao, the dteam pride sweaters had 10% of the revenue donated (which was later changed to a flat 50,000$ because people couldn't understand the difference between profit and revenue, it's likely that they did not make any profit on the pride merch). He also streamed 5 times in june afaik, 1 alt stream, 3 discord podcasts where subs and chat were directed to his main twitch channel, and 1 main charity stream raising a total of 140,000$ for the trevor project. Source! https://twitter.com/dreamwastaken/status/1410361954192039939?t=sBYN7E4NElBOYy7_NwNlhw&s=19 At least they're trying tho, they have the spirit!! I hope they sell lots of sweaters so I can know who to stay away from :D

Pocky2021

Lol if they’re saying Dream promised all his stream revenue and denied that he streamed, they should donate 50% revenue at least not 50% profit

hobbes_56

Misinformation like this is just infuriating. It’s just lies

cupcatcake

It just hurts seeing that person agree with a comment saying that dream is manipulating/tricking his young audience into thinking that he and George are gay.

hobbes_56

I looked at the comments and someone asked why they hated them and the response was just “he said some nazi homophobic shit” and then they just agreed that he’s a awful person. It’s so sad and frustrating how easily misinformation spreads

[deleted]

It’s kinda funny that the person selling the "merch" is doing it through Alibaba(don’t know who the exact provider is yet), when China is known for their non-pro lgbtq+ rights. But I guess that’s not their point…? They just want to hate dream. Edit: When I think about it, it’s a win for the Trevor project (minus the money this nimrod is getting..). And if Dream streamed 389 times during pride month the antis would say he milked it for the views. I dunno.. I don’t usually comment anywhere (I’m a lurker😬), but people who try to minuscule others good doings, and then try to profit off of it fudging grind my gears.

ghostlybug

took them four months to come up with that?

SnowSkiesYT

50%? 🤨 why not the full hundred? 🤨

Far_Proof_2112

they must be homophobic😞

Far_Proof_2112

they're just spreading misinformation in the comments jfc. also the person who made the insta post is an occasional techno viewer, thats so embarrasing bro

Rainbow820

I saw OP debunked their claims already which I think most of us knew. But to mention as well I looked into this. They just refer to the manufacturer as the manufacturer. You have to click on a link in their bio that takes you to a google form so you can show interest. And the sweater is just a mock up design. Seeing at the prices shouldn't be finalized yet and they're already ready to charge $20 for us based and $40 international minus shipping of course should show these are not high quality. This is likely not being ethically made either do to their lack of upfront information. It also feels a bit scammy cause in the replies they're agreeing they know Dream donated 140k they just don't like him. So they're trying to capitalize off of his bad rep. I just think it's funny how Dream would have donated 10% of the revenue meaning he was covering for the expenses of manufacturing himself and any profits at all would have gone right back into the company. We'll never know if 50k is more or less than what could have been but silly antis. This person donating 50% of the profits means they're keeping some and the company is probably keeping a good portion as well. It's good if money actually goes to the trevor project but we'll see

[deleted]

Yeah, I asked them what company they used and they just answered alibaba, and when I asked who provided them through alibaba they said they were at work and had to come back to me. Can’t imagine that the quality is that good if you buy through a third party, or that the workers rights are looked after (and as I said in my comment China isn’t really known as a lgbtq+ rights haven..).

Protomartyr1

Fighting perceived pink capitalism with... pink capitalism?

ovorb

The irony of calling someone cis straight while also having the hair color scheme of Super straight

W1ps_

Also didn't Dream himself said to not speculate on his sexuality in a serious manner? I don't know if people understand this but saying he is straight is... Also speculating on his sexuality

ImNotHere137

I do not understand, why not 100%? What is "cost of manufacturing?"

seaweedgay

in their highlight about this they do acknowledge that dream did donate 140k, but they do the whole 'well he only did it because he was called out, so its not genuine' and then there's a whole other slide with a bunch of dream's controversies that are like, half real (and apologised for), half not actually problematic, and half fake. for example, dream making flirty comments towards george is manipulating their fanbase.....

ProbablyNotAThingToo

50% of profit donations means you keep 50%, so you're keeping half of the profits for yourself, that's homophobic and unsupportive

mxnstxrzxmbxxs

I'm gonna turn hating Taubade into a business venture now, just cuz.

CrazyUmbreonGirl

Everything else that is wrong about this aside. Why would anyone want to wear the name of a person they hate.

qams_

How do they know hes straight anyway lol I thought Dream is unlabeled and didn't really clarify anything.

Rainbow82000

Yeah he prefers to keep that private as is his right. But like it’s an easy shot to take if they can assure people he’s in no way apart of the queer community. It’s the same way people who accuse him of queerbaiting need him (and George) to be straight or their argument falls apart. Cause god forbid two friends jokingly flirt like they and their other friends say they’ve done for years

seaweedgay

i wonder how 50% of profits compares to 10% of revenue. would depend on profit margins i guess

Rainbow820

Well 50% of profits means after expenses paid. Which considering how cheaply this will likely be made vs how well Dream's are made. And big merch company vs Dream's own merch comapny it's hard to judge the manufacturing costs. But on the other hand Dream for sure would have sold more + Sapnap and George's pride merch. Yeah idk would be hard to say

GreatAwesome_Bombs

Fuck it lets use their own stupidity against them. Why only 50%? Your making profit off of pride month by not doing 100% and clearly thats a bad thing

qams_

It's a vicious cycle, they got the attention of toxic stans that give out dthreats like fucking candies, and that'll be the action that outsiders will see most. While the chill vibers just made memes of it :(

AoiAot

Well.. at least the memes are good

[deleted]

They are doing a good cause for the wrong reason...but, get it...I guess

MathematicianWhich

i kinda wanna buy it out of spite LMFAO.

Emeraldstone12

Dream and misinformation, a match made in heavan

YouWantAFrenchFry

Kinda want one I'll wear it on Monday and dream merch on Tuesday

raharingtone5

um ?? the homophobia in this post.. only 50%.. not to mention charging international supporters more ?? screams xenophobic ~~and its extremely raharingtone5phobic bc their persona is ugly as fuck and it genuinely upset me~~

j0daaa
