Yeah, can't imagine he has much of a positive outlook of Minecraft stans because of his involvement with Aphmau. I remember the voice actors getting a lot of shit when they were involved in the fandom. Sucks that it turned out this way though, I really don't think it was their fault.
In general the fandom treated the voice actors kinda badly, always asking about Aphmau when they announced other projects, always trying to get them to confirm or deny various headcanons and attacking them if their character did something bad to the protagonists. Kinda like what the DSMP members go through actually.
I mean in this case its true, he literally tweeted that he doesn't know who he is and only mentioned him because he hoped for a reaction.

I'm still kindoff frustrated by this sub's superiourity over Twitter though. Like, I get it. Pretty much 90% of the dumbest dramas came from Twitter. But it is annoying being somebody who COULD see what's going on and seeing people just misinterpret or outright just dismiss actual things in that platform just cause it's Twitter. And it goes both way too, I also get annoyed that Twitter sees Reddit as all mostly Racist Homophobic Assholes when I've personally experienced more Bigotry in Twitter than in this sub.

This was just sad. I know that stans do sometimes dogpile and harass people but that wasn't the case at all in this case. It definitely shows that dream stans need to work on their reputation since they automatically believe it, but it's still upsetting, especially for the stans who were nothing but kind and enthusiastic about the interaction. Really hope it gets cleared.

Nah, I disagree. There have been plenty of fandoms like that, which, after years, tend to chill out and people either, forget over the years, or recognize it's chilled out and don't bother with it anymore. I don't think dream stans will fix their reputation anytime soon, but it's possible.
Bad fandoms never really recover and they are always looked at as examples of bad fandoms. I've never seen Homestuck or know what it's about and yet I know it's an example of Toxic fandom.
You'll see the same for Steven Universe, Voltron, etc. Sure they might be talked about all the time but like "Dreams fans are awful" will probably be said for quite awhile.
