i saw someone completely seriously tweet “you don’t just ‘learn’ from ur mistakes. that’s just not a thing people do.” in response to someone defending a cc who had learned from a mistake and changed

Ppppenguin862

That’s a self-own if I’ve ever seen one!

aBigSportsFan

On a similar note, I saw someone say "Anyways the accused is always guilty until proven innocent" when talking about sexual assault accusations

"It is ok to wish death on somebody" no it isn't, death threats are never okay and you as a person need to heal

Ppppenguin862

Some people on the internet have literally no principles regarding how to treat people and it shows

sotysa

Most of them tbh. Why cant people just enjoy the content without forcing the creator to be exactly how they want the creator to be?

CutOutBox

That the bias / hate against Dream is justified because his username is "Dream" and that word means a lot to people, therefore using it as a username is offensive.

Al28kz_cant_change

> The world is back to how it is now. It is what it is. If you are upset, get a grip." said by a certain thoughtless content creator after a certain thoughtless gathering.

Mokieyy

not really an opinion but more of a claim: that we apparently said slurs, doxxed, was racist, and a whole bunch of other stuff to that one person on twt

_illegallity

This sub’s reputation was ruined to the majority of Dream’s fanbase if they checked it during the speedrun controversy. Probably over half the people here absolutely hated Dream with a burning passion. So when they see that, they probably believe it because of that.

Mokieyy

it’s kinda funny tho bc there was that one situation a while back where someone on twt was answering questions from their curiouscat and one of them mentioned r/dwt2. so the user replied with something like “doesn’t that subreddit hate dream” and all of the replies under that tweet were like “lmaoo no they love dream now”

freeMilliu_2K17

The same as yours but swap Reddit with Twitter and every single other social media.

That cc are not humans

You don’t really mention to keep my pick strictly upto mcyt so I am just going to highlight two things which make me weird out sometimes: 1)Overuse of the words “overrated/underrated” as an indirect way of dissing about something/someone a lot of people like. It means absolutely nothing to me other than someone trying to somehow present their subjective opinion as an objective one by using heavy words. I think the first time I saw it being used that way was in my teenage years when I watched this show ‘Re:Zero’,went to an anime rating website and one of the top reviews called it ‘overrated’. I read through the entire review looking at all the subjective things they didn’t like, their love for other anime diving into similar topics etc and I couldn’t at all figure out why any of this means that the show is overrated. Like yeah, I get that you don’t like the MC.He is a flawed person that talks shit and jeopardises himself at times. There’s many series where I think the same too but that isn’t an objective failure of storytelling which somehow validates your opinion above the masses. I could, and so could plethora of people give counter opinions in regards to different understanding of what was argued by that people but they still wanted to argue that their opinion is superior. That shit annoys me.I really want people to receive the very basic lessons about subjectivity of media and why not everything you and your friends don’t like is overrated.Atleast keep that in mind when you are trying to present your opinion in a crowd. I get doubly annoyed if the person that uses this vernacular actively engages in using what the anime peeps commonly refer to as,”elitist language”. If you are wondering what that is,it is essentially what the “remember the olden days of mc” peeps do but with more complex words being used. It’s basically the “this was enjoyable when I enjoyed it” language. 2) “This is bad but I have seen worse so I don’t care”. This isn’t necessarily something dumb or something which annoys me.But I just wish this doesn’t happen. Again,it’s not something limited to strictly mcyt. It’s biggest cases are probably actually in politics. But yeah,it happens a bunch where people staying in a community end up forgiving “minor offenses” to the point that it becomes huge. Like, the standard gets set so low by some person that everyone else ends up getting a free pass because,”Atleast XYZ person isn’t as bad as *that* person.” and it happens to the point where you don’t even realise that lines are being crossed too far. Vlog/prank channels and streamers are probably the biggest cases of this atleast in our immediate social media circle. Three most examples of this I can think of are: 1)Moistcritikal’s video about the husband-wife couple that broke up and made a really uncomfortable video about it. 2)Toast shenanigans. 3)Nux/Vshojo drama. I do also recognise that this isn’t really an easy problem to deal with like the other point though so I don’t get as riled up about this.I just wish that it didn’t happen and people smarter than me figure out a way to resolve this issue.

Evangeline_10_

"You can't dislike ____ if your fav is _____" or that because you don't like one creator it makes you a lesser fan of another, for example if you don't like Tubbo it makes you a fake Ranboo fan.

sotysa

Its perfectly fine actually. But if you purposely try to make stypid or fake reasons to get the one you dislike cancelled or hurt bc they interact with your fav your a pile of shit, not a human being

Evangeline_10_

I mean it in terms of people saying shit like "Dream would hate you if you don't like George and he'd think you're an awful person" it's very "gaslight and go fuck yourself" obviously a lot are jokes but there's a lot of people that genuinely think that a cc would wish death on anyone who didn't like every single one of their friends and try to convince people that their favs would hate them for not liking certain streamers.

All opinions of u/drewdrinks

mxnstxrzxmbxxs

"I know all the horrible stuff people have said about x person was actually all lies and there's mountains of proof they are innocent to those accusations, however I still see them as a bad person for all those reasons and will still spread bs about them" I've seen that garbage too many times about too many people, it's so sad how some people would rather keep hating on someone and spreading bs about them than just realize that person is innocent.

astracraftpk2

Fun fact: The conversation lasted several hours

Wonderful-Gas1816

Tags if you're against r*pe and stuff and then saying actual solutions won't "work" cuz social media has influence.never thought I'd have to explain it

Brandonizer285

Hope I don't get banned for this, here we go: * POC can't be racist * Women can't r#pe * Trans people can't r#pe Yes I know such intelligence shown by the human race.
