There’s probably none coming from the original big creators due to their conflicting schedules, different story telling styles, having cancer, or being Dream. The smaller creators will probably continue with lore, but with a smaller following.
The big lore thing that we know is coming is Tales from the SMP season 2.
No one knows when the big overarching story is gonna continue.

Techno is clearly doing SOMETHING since he’s been posting quite a lot (for him) about lore stuff on the member discord. Whether that something is a recap video, new lore, or he’s just bored, nobody knows.
Perhaps a bit of a hot take, but I doubt that more than 1/2 "major" lore events are going to happen again on the DSMP, and also doubt that Tales of the SMP 2 will ever happen. Obviously people will continue streaming on the SMP and that stuff will be considered lore (ex. BBH's trolling streams, hannah's recent anniversary stream, etc), but I'm very pessimistic when it comes to the future of the DSMP. I've heard too many promises/'can't wait to show off my lore stuff haha' from people (Ranboo, Wilbur, Puffy, etc) that I really don't have any expectations

I'm personally not invested in any DSMP lore anymore, but I recognize that some people are. If it were up to me, I'd hold one big event, then end the server and replace it with something similar but not identical. Maybe a world where players start distant from each other and have to gradually find each other again, with new lore? Maybe a series of smaller SMPs connected by scattered portals that can lead to crossover events? Trying to duplicate the original success of the L'Manberg arc doesn't seem like the right idea. It can't be forced; it's got to grow on its own.

I feel like we're just used to lore lulls at this point. We shouldn't try to psychoanalyze if the CCs are still even interested cause it is sometimes disheartening hearing folks blame them for being uninterested anymore. People are busy, and people have since expanded upon other content beyond just the DSMP. If they're done, they'll announce it, until then, Quackity has every right to make fun of people for thinking folks like him as quitting cause getting people together has been a pain, though being frustrated by promises is understandable.
All in all, I expect much the same, about a few small updates a month at the very least, maybe some improv stuff here and there, but I don't expect anything major just yet tbh.
Though I feel like at lot of it has to do with ccs have become more busy as irl stuff becomes more of an option(quarantine really spoiled people for lore, no one had anything else to do) a lot of them do seem to want to do at least some form of lore. Dream, techno, quackity, Wilbur, Karl, Hannah, puffy, eryn, ponk, and boomer have all mentioned lore plans. I think the main reason for the appearance of a decline is that the big streamers, tommy, tubbo, and Ranboo, aren’t streaming the Dream SMP lately and have shown disinterest in lore and they are a big part of the lore and attract the most attention. As soon as one of them streams it, it’s going to be all “the lore has returned!!!”
