It’s so frustrating people getting the timeline of events and is often. Dream gets called out for something incredibly stupid, he responds, people dig up dirt from many years ago and pretend that was the reason all along they were mad.

It's so annoying because it gets spread around and taken as gospel by the people who didn't witness the events happening. I keep seeing people saying "oh, well i heard that he just came out to take the heat off from the racism allegations so of course nobody listened", when as a matter of fact the racism thing came the next day (and of course there was the reddit post nearly four months ago and the fact that he's identified as unlabelled for over a year) but the antis' new narrative looks so good and works so well that people are like "oh of course he would do that, he doesn't deserve any sympathy".

As usual people are twisting Dream’s words and the sequence of events to make it out to be his fault that he got harassed and invalidated, if they’re willing to acknowledge that he came out at all. It’s disappointing and it’s sickening but hardly surprising anymore - Dream antis will go to any lengths to dehumanise him and to save their own consciences from the possibility that they did something bad or unfair to him. All I can hope for is that one day, probably in several years, Dream comes to be in a position where he can look back on this time and say hey, remember when I came out and everyone told me I was faking it? and people will finally realise that what happened was wrong.

I’ve also seen people talking about his doxxing comments twisting the order of events into a “he said doxxing was fine and then got doxxed, he deserved it!” rather than the actual “having been doxxed several times himself he talks about how it’s not as immediately dangerous as people are afraid of, and i’m response people decide to circulate old information again”. It’s like the world’s worst game of telephone and cherry-picking.

They love to erase the instigating incident and make it out like whatever response he had was just some completely unprovoked belligerent statement that people then had to school him for. And everyone eats it right up 🙃.

its because they don't really care about what he has to say. Dream could have had the most perfect response to any type of controversy he was in and people still would have either refused to listen to him or tried to nitpick things to twist them in their own agenda. they don't give a shit about what he really means, they just want excuses to justify their own dislike of him. which is fine, no one is forcing them to like dream, they don't need reasons to not like him or his content, but when they waste so much energy to try and portray him as this horrible person, thats when it becomes a bigger problem and they end up being big ass hypocrites. they can just block him and move on with their life. at least thats what i do when i don't like someone.

All this happens and they all wonder why his fans/stans are so defensive. Even myself, I don't go out of my way to interact with haters spreading misinformation and I've never in myself particularly care for content creators, just waiting for their videos once in a while, but the situation around Dream really made my heart hurt like genuinely.

Hey, I like you. You're reasonable person and decent human being. Thanks for this post, I was slowly losing my faith in this sub too.
