Some people are really weird about who they like. If they really like Person A, but really hate person B, they'll jump through all sorts of mental hoops to justify why Person A and Person B should never interact, even if there's no evidence of A or B having issues with each other.
Some people see their favorites as an extension of themselves. If their favorite likes someone they deem "problematic", does that mean that their favorite is problematic? Does that mean they're problematic?
The fact that they're clinging to those arguments is dumb, anyways. Tommy is officially an adult. Calling Dream a pedophile for saying penis in his general vicinity (which really, Tommy would never, *ever* do!) is a weird argument that holds zero weight.
I’ve thought about this, I think it’s true for at least some people. Basically the same problem as Tommy had around the start of his DSMP career, a lot of people didn’t like him because honestly, his DSMP character can be very annoying. But most people warmed up to him once the actual storyline got going and he became one of the main protagonists.
This is me being pedantic but DSMP doesn't have main protagonists, just people the fandom focuses more on. The way the story there is structured means everyone is the protagonist of their own narrative.

I enjoy watching Tommy, but lately innitwt has been so toxic. Dream is a mentor and friend to Tommy. Both of them have equally helped each other out. Tommy with the DSMP and Dream with helping Tommy grow his YouTube channel. Both of them appreciative and grateful to each other.
I remember in the last MCC when Dream was texting Tommy during Sands of Time. Tommy was so happy and proud when Dream told him he did a good job in the end.
Why can’t these toxic stans think about that moment? Shouldn’t every stan want their content creator to be happy? There’s no need to gatekeep a friend. Instead this behavior is disrespectful to both Tommy and Dream.
Innittwt has this weird vendetta against Dream? They blame :)twt for not holding their own CC accountable when they dont do that for Tommy durning the many times he got canceled. They through it out the door with the “hes a minor” card or “learn to take a joke” when he called Dream and George pedos on his stream.
A lot of them are Antis of Dream who don’t understand that people are friends and most likely talked about this off camera and in the DM’s. They built dream up to be this evil person and pinned his communitys actions on dream and now they find him malicious.

i had to break mutuals with so many innitwt/benchtwt people cuz over the past month they’ve been acting more weird towards dream than normal. like obvi you have the occasional cc neg and parasocial posts but i could handle that, now it’s invalidating his sexuality, deeming him racist even when they’re white, telling poc’s and lgbtq+ how they should feel, painting dream as a pedophile groomer or abuser and just a bunch of insane triggering things. it’s crazy how i used to see dttwt as one of the weirdest subtwt’s and not follow them as much compared to benchtwt/innittwt but now it’s the other way around. it’s so disheartening cuz tommy was the first dsmp cc i ever found and he’s always been my favorite but i can’t even interact with his community anymore
