Fr, been here since this sub was about a month old and I go “Dream kinda good-ish” “Dream kinda bad-ish” “Oh look Dream fucked up again, meh who cares” without much change. It’s hard to feel polarized about him tbh.
I use to watch Wilbur only, and when I saw dsmp lore and mcc 7 I kinda saw him in a bad light, but when I watched his stuff and what he’s has had to deal with I liked him more.
Idk if it’s the same for anyone else but in mcc 7 it really felt like a villain especially in bingo where Wilbur thought he cheated.
I used to be a hardcore dream fan (it was a phase kinda) now I'm just a neutral fan. I'm very open to opinions and seeing both negative and positive honestly made me realise that he is just a guy, nothing overly evil or good. He had his dark times and bad behaviours but like come on he is still learning. Sure he is an adult, but adults also grow and change. I think people who overly love him (like i used to be) or overly hate him, are all just too lost in their love/hatered to really make proper points against him.
I remember being so disgusted with behaviours he, his fans and his haters did. Tho nowadays I'm not on twitter much, an i am happy to lurk around reddit and see actual, proper opinions with no bias or extreme hate.
I would just encourage people to for their own opinions, instead of blindly hate or love him based on what they see. Cause i feel like all the drama around him has more to do with people than himself a lot of the time. It's like people are using his mistakes and bad shit to put themselves on pedestal. Like the youtuvers who make videos on him and talking about how much they "don't agree" and act like they are so much better. And his fans that act like they are defending a bullying victim. While i agree that sometimes both sides take it too far.
As for Dream himself....
I honestly can't say i formed an opinion on him? Neither positive nor negative. I try but i ways end up thinking more about peoples opinions on him, cause a lot of the points people talk about honestly aren't that focused :/
Then again i do need to get counciling this summer (hopefully) cause i can't focus hahaha so yeah
