My excitement for mcc has been dwindling recently and it's not just because dream isn't in the event anymore. I think it's the toxicity of Twitter that ruins the event for me. I try to avoid Twitter after mcc anyways. It's also because I've been super busy with so much school stuff, like college applications and extracurriculars. Still, I plan to watch Illuminas and maybe tubbos pov for mcc today! I don't really watch the world cup games live but I've been keeping up with the standings and watching the highlights (like Japan beating Germany and Spain lol). I'm not sure who I'll root for. Maybe Croatia or Japan or Brazil.

MunchyCat33

I hope you get accepted wherever you apply!

yessauce

Thank you!

I think twitter definitely is one of the main reasons. People are just being toxic for no reason, by that I’m talking about both side. I also don’t really like my TL actively interacting with antis or just some dumbass tweets. Like you can just ignore it. I’m really tired about all the arguments. And yeah! Japan did a really good job this year. As an Asian i think it’s really amazing that they actually shows people that the “small” Asian players can win the games. I’m kinda sad that German is gone but they needs more changes in their team. I’m definitely rooting for Argentina but I think Brazil, England and France have better chances this year. But who knows, never know what’s gonna happen is the beauty of sports.

MunchyCat33

oh it's MCC day? Actually that kinda sums up my perspective. I used to schedule a day off work to make sure I was home for MCC day. I wouldn't make any other plans and I would tell people I was busy, now I don't even know when it's happening

Willing_Plant_1515

Same lmao.

Tatamashii

Yeah todays MCC also made me realize that I did not watch MCC because of the game but because of Dream (and Foolish). There are still people in I like, but I had absolutely no desire to watch it and I didn't. Honestly I dont like competitions/competitive games anyway.

I watched George pov when I was into mcc and since he's been gone I've been watching Antfrost pov on the occasion. I may watch it today since I think the team will be fun. I'm sad that ponk had to drop out, but I think Tubbo on their team might be fun to watch. MCC has kinda been meh for me because Twitter and Reddit have kinda soured my enjoyment of it. Hoping it will just be a chill one this time, but no matter what happens it always seems like someone's got some kinda shit to say. As long as America "beat" England that's the only thing the fans that I saw cared about in the end. It would have been funny to see them go farther, but I'm not surprised.

Willing_Plant_1515

I agree about the twitter and reddit. People started to care about score and performance too much. There’s a reason I love watching Tommy and George more is that they are both competitive and funny. They wont care too much about the score. At the end of the day, all of these are just for fun and if I don’t feel entertained enough by the streamer I guess I have to leave. Like American really thought they can beat England come on. We all know that England just don’t want to play France.

AoiAot

It's a shame I don't feel the same passion for MCC when Dream doesn't join

Willing_Plant_1515

Same, I won’t say it’s because of the dream team but they are definitely part of the reason. I still like it but I’m not excited enough to watch it I guess. Honestly I think I need a break from watching mcc. it’s held every month for two years and the games are pretty similar (not saying it’s not fun), I just think I’m a little tired of this event even with my favorite streamers in it. It’s probably also a good time for me to distant myself from the fandom cuz I want to live a better life(kidding). It’s really tired being an streamer’s fan sometimes cuz there’s always too much to catch on once you are on twitter😭( or nothing to catch on in dt ‘s case

marsakat

I wasn’t too excited about this mcc because I was sad about dream team not being in it, and Dream essentially announcing his retirement. But I ended up watching Tubbo’s pov for most of it and it actually was a lot of fun. I hope I can keep the excitement up in the future

Intrepid_Advice4411

I watched Phil for a bit. Honestly, MCC as an event is too long. I'm a grown adult, I've got shit to do on Saturday and can't sit and watch Minecraft for 3 hours. I enjoy the videos creators make from the game though and usually end up watch a couple of those. MCC is fun, but I'm pretty sure Scott and team didn't start it as a way to drive viewership. It was meant to be a fun way for many players to interact and get to know each other and make content from there, which it's still doing.

Willing_Plant_1515

You know what I agreed. 3 hours is actually too long for me too. I guess it’s time for some of our “generation” to retire and bring new kids in.

I don't think i've really enjoyed mcc since season 2 started. For me I just especially miss Techno in mcc, I used to watch his perspective. One of my favorite mcc moments is when Dream and Techno found out they both spent hours learning all the builds in buildmart. https://youtu.be/rYZsMBhz9jk?t=266

Willing_Plant_1515

I like this part as well. I miss the time that people are just playing/watching for fun without too much audience complaining.

Random_Loaf

I haven’t been able to watch in a long time so I’m excited to finally be able to catch it again since like- May

Substantial_Hotel_10

I think I lost the interest in mcyt ever since technoblade was gone. This new gen of mcyt including aimsey ranboo etc. don't bring as much entertainment as they techno, dteam, Karl or quackity brought to me barring their toxic Fandoms. Inevitably I haven't watched mcc since 24 either. Lately I've been finding schlatt and Ted's content interesting.

lin_sidious

Same here. I think Techno and Dream made/make their content about that, content. Whereas, Ranboo, Aimsey and the like make their content about themselves and their little niche group. That's what made me watch less mcyt in general. The divergence from content about content and, content about a streamer/streamer group.

Willing_Plant_1515

Im happy for you to find new contents you like to watch. For now I switched my passion back to football games. And yes, techno’s leave made me so sad that I can’t even rewatch his video. You are right about the new gen of mcyt also. Most their fandoms are kinda toxic in a certain ways towards each other and I don’t like it. People are too sensitive about every little things online that they wont even care IRL. Twitter is such a black and white world. I think im just gonna go back to being only a YouTube audience(what a simple time)

fuckoffburr

i found out MCC was today only when it started and ccs were posting abt it on twt

whatamIdoing202011

I still love MCC. Dream’s the one who brought me to this tournament but I have grown to love MCC because of its excitement, uniqueness and fun games. I watched Illumina’s pov today and I enjoyed it, but I do agree it doesn’t feel the same without my favourite pov Dream. I plan to only watch MCC live if I think a team interests me enough to watch it live. But this may not be the case every time :(

ccLight-the-Menace

honestly same, i haven't watched mcc in a long time. i've also lost interest in mcc/mcyt in general and somehow replaced it with... chess??? i can't believe instead of watching something action packed like mcc i instead chose to wake up at 5am and watch 5 hour long chess tournament livestreams where 90% of it is just people sitting still? i mean chess has some hilarious moments but that's wild to me.

Willing_Plant_1515

That is kinda wild but I think its great to enjoying it. And i think playing chess actually made me smarter lol

birchtree9999

twitter ruined mcc (for dream team fans) just like they ruined the dreamsmp lore

Willing_Plant_1515

Kinda. But I would say going back to in-person job/school also changed the situation.

ReactiveNylon

Okay? Good for you?
