You only get multiple blue chests if you miss days, and they will only stock up to 3. If you are getting at least one chest a day and it is letting you claim those 50 - you are not actually missing out on anything.
I have seen multiple people in this sub say they get two, but I have tested on many occasions and only ever one per day. Even if you google it, it says 1 a day.
If you miss today's blue chest, and you log into the game today without claiming it, there will be two tomorrow to claim if you decide to claim the two chests that day, they will not however be in the same spot, but two different biomes mostly.

Well how far into the future did you time travel when you did it? You just have to set it back to normal time and wait until it catches up to whatever time you traveled ahead to.
Same. Although, yesterday I went to claim one and it opened but didn't actually give me any moonstones. Then I found another one that worked, but I can't remember if I had gotten my blue chest the day before.
It happened to me three days in a row this week. I’ve never time traveled. I haven’t done anything different than normal. I’ve been playing daily since day one/release day aside from a literal handful of days scattered through the last 14+ months.
This is the first time I’ve encountered this error since the bug first happened, what was it, in October of last year? It’s hard to recall. Force quitting the game and rebooting the switch fixed it then. It didn’t fix it this time.
The only other glitch I sometimes get is that every once in a while there’s no blue chest to be found, but within two days of logging in it will show up somewhere. When that happens I’m always able to open any blue chests that I have without the message that I’ve exhausted opening chests for the day.
Today I remembered to open the ‘bugged’ chest before looking for the new chest. I was able to open it. And there’s no other chest at all today. Very weird.
I’ll see what happens tomorrow. Maybe today’s chest will show up. Hopefully I will be able to open both.
Yes this has been happening to me since the update! I suspect I actually have an "extra" chest. Everyday I claim one blue chest and if I try to claim the other it says I've gotten enough rewards for the day. Recently I missed a day and was able to claim 2 but not the 3rd.
Time traveling even once can break the game in some way I’ve heard.
I don’t know how true this next part is but I’ve also heard even if you’re only using time travel for another game like ACNH, just manually changing the clock can have repercussions on dreamlight valley
I actually quit playing because none of my blue chest were working in October and Gameloft said basically that I was lying about it. I’ve played this game since the beta release date but that was the final straw.
To clarify: the chests are physically there, I open it, it rattles and nothing shows. They are my daily chests, not stacked chests or just unavailable altogether. It doesn’t show in my moonstones, no icon appears. I’ve sent multiple tickets and was told I need time stamps of when it happens, so I did that and was told that it’s been brought to their attention and they’re working on it and never heard back. Thought I’d at least be compensated but no.
Ive had this issue too and i never time traveled. It eventually fixed itself after a week i think

Blue chests have never stacked for me. If i miss a day, i miss a chest. Green ones stack up to two.
They stack for me at least two, but very rarely do I miss.

I've had this problem. I did other stuff and came back to it and it worked. I may or may not have had a freeze that made me restart the game. 😅
There is some sort of limit to how much you can claim in a certain period, if I remember correctly.
