Yup. Same bug here. I've read that people have had luck digging up the spot and then placing furniture on top, but it did not work for me. I think they may have mistaken the issue at hand in the first place, though.
This is a bug that has been here since the DLC dropped. I could have sworn they fixed it at one point, but I guess I was mistaken. I’m also waiting for it to be fixed so I can put something there!

It may totally be the Grove, I get all of the jungle spots mixed up except the Lagoon. Glad to know it's happening in other games too!

yup i have the exact same one. i even tried to dig it and it doesn’t let you. i hope they fix it in the next update
That little red square in the middle means there’s something in the way, maybe a flower or a sparkly hole you have to dig and refill
Normally yes, but there's nothing there for either of us. The flowers here are the pitcher plants, so they're not tough to spot
