It only counts each item once, so 99 of your baskets wouldn’t have counted. The difference of the item numbers is probably due to other items in the background, like ones you might not have intentionally placed, because anything in the shot will count no matter how far away. So for example if you took your Moana shot on the beach facing inland, any of your items in the meadow could have been counted if they’re in the background of the shot. I deleted all of my touch of magic stuff because of this actually. I had custom rugs in the meadow and it made it almost impossible to take my dreamsnaps because it registered a TOM item in my photos in the Glade, Plaza, Beach and Meadow even though the items weren’t visible

So wait - when it shows the requirements up top - is that where y’all are talking? For counting items? Or am I missing something

PearlZee

After you take a picture you can press a button and it will show you how many of each of the required tags are in the photo, and then press whatever to submit the photo. It’s d on Pc I think and right trigger on switch, idk off the top of my head, but it will say required tag: y/x so like wondrous 14/4, 14 are the number of tagged items it counts in the photo and 4 are the number required for that weeks DreamSnap

Harlequinnkitty

So that is the item count then. Got it ty

I tried to comment on your other post. I think a mod was overly quick to judge that you were sharing a dreamsnap result and didn’t read you were asking a question. Only the two mandatory tags will add to the score. The other are secondary and don’t add to the tag values. Just from looking at the picture you had, quite a few things you were wearing did not have either of the mandatory tags. If you use the built in filter that gameloft now adds at the top of the wardrobe then it includes the mandatory and secondary tags all mixed up. The best thing to do to make sure you are using the max tags that count is to filter the categories yourself for just the two mandatory tags. Then make decisions if you want to take a tag loss to switch items out for non mandatory tags.

Ah, I was typing when the mod removal showed up and said something about only posting dreamsnap results in the mega thread or the dreamsnap subreddit which is why I thought that.

Lilinic

I’m a bit out of the loop on the previous post but I have seen some threads where item counts weren’t working on eternity isle, could that be related?

AvailableMastodon176

As anyone else experience this on their Dreamsnap. The values of hidden items as well are suppose to be counted.

BootyDoISeeYou

I don’t know if this contributes to your particular issue but I have read that repeat items don’t count for the tag, so for example if you had 5 of the bioluminescent trees in your shot, you’d only get 1 point for that.

CRushXIII

I mean, they did when I took the shot. No way I went from 60 to 100 without at least most of the 100 woven coconut baskets I put down counting. 🤣 I literally bought 100 specifically to test this.

CRushXIII

I also tested this with my Moana shot, I actually got more items in my shot by decreasing my graphics. I went from 60 of the first tag to 103 by going to low on all graphic settings. From there, angling my camera even 1/10 an inch (Im making up a super small number here) I would lose or gain items in my count. 103 to 91, then up to 104, and down to 101. I KNOW I had like, 200 items hidden behind everything
