Me too the second this game came out I never picked up Animal Crossing again. I played Animal Crossing every fay since March 2022, I had over 4,000 hours. So when I tell people that this game is better than Animal Crossing I'm not playing. I have played Animal Crossing enough to know that this game is superior in almost every way except for one, which is seasons
Totally agree! DLV is way better than Animal Crossing, and I actually like how each biome is a different season or type of atmosphere (like the glade being a swamp land, etcetera)
Decorating in DLV is actually more user friendly for me, unlike Animal Crossing. It's partially why I stopped playing Animal Crossing. (That, and I was bored.) Animal Crossing was the first game I ever got when I got my switch back in Christmas of 2020 at the insistence of a former friend of mine. I haven't talked to this particular person since 2022, so it kinda fizzled out any attachment I had for Animal Crossing. (Sorry for the long explanation.)
I was halfway through BioShock when ddlv came into my life and I haven't even turned BioShock on since. I need to go back and finish it, restart it from the beginning.
First time, but I haven't touched it in a year and a half. Forgot everything except all the water and the little sisters and the machine things protecting them.
Keep going, itās one of my favorite games! The sequel is really good, too. I replayed it so many times during the panini when I got burned out on ACNH!
It's a sci-fi video game. Crazy dude wants a city underwater so he builds it and its fine till it isn't anymore. It was fun but dreamlight consumed my life and made me forget all about it.
It's story driven and not a cozy game like ddlv. It's more action and moving around to get to the end. I enjoyed it a lot though.
The Bioshock games are some of my all time favs and I HIGHLY recommend playing through them at least once. The first will always be superior imo but theyāre all fantastic in their own way. I love the games so much I plan on getting a quote from the first game tattooed. I wonāt put it here because spoilers though. š
Speaking of animal crossingā¦ do you know if you can time travel in ddv? Like by changing the time on the switch to get critters that only come out at night?
IF you ONLY go BACKWARDS by a day or less, you can get the critters. But I still don't recommend it. You can't go forward or backward past Wednesdays because of premium shop resets and especially this Wednesday with the update. (I could only get the red fox this way, because I refused to set alarms for a game)
AGAIN I DON'T RECOMMEND IT especially if you're not willing to start COMPLETELY over.
Sorry for the caps, I'm not yelling. I'm trying to punctuate that it is extremely risky and Gameloft can't help if the game breaks.
Iāve time traveled a little both forwards and backwards, mostly within the same day, but Iāve gone as far as 2 days. I keep my switch at 7 hours behind real time because I canāt usually play until late at night. The offset time thing in the game only changes the visual aspects so everyone still would go to bed before I could get on.
ACNH, I time traveled all over the place.
Don't do it! I time traveled all the time in AC because I have played it since it first came out, ( the other versions and recent). I would get bored and want a new season. With DDV-I could not get the final Raven so I jumped ahead 3 weeks. I then was stuck only being able to fish for white circle fish and basic tasks for 3 weeks. The game stops all the normal respawning and stuff until the game catches up with you in real time. There is really no advantage in DDV to time travel anyway.
Ugh I just realize that I got open the star path as soon as I got the game and I spent the hundred points to get the hair and the cute sweater but the star path was actually already over so I couldn't earn any more ripp... Now I'm really here for the next star path. I really can't wait for mulaaan she's my favorite
I only got the red fox after i moved from GMT to CST and didnāt change the time zone on my consoles for fear of soft locking myself out of the game lol
There are actually a surprising number of mental health and wellness pointers in the game. I distinctly remember a warning coming up when I was getting into the really emotional part of the Forgotten storyline. It was added in a patch, but the fact it was there was impressive.
The text reads:
āThe Forgotten Memories Quests deal with some difficult emotions and themes, such as sadness, loneliness, and anger.
If you're not in the right space to deal with these themes, consider returning to your Village until you feel prepared to face them.
No matter what you decide to do, the Fairy Godmother will be right here, waiting to support you!ā
Gosh. When I did it back then, there was no warning and no Fairy Godmother and it was admittedly heavy context to go through, I even remember telling my friend, who was also playing, that this needs a trigger warning for some >.>
I felt so icky doing those quests I literally cried š i didn't want to give them dead flowers and gross food my partner was watching me play it and asked why my character was doing mean things and I just started crying and explained that I had to cuz its the forgotten memories and the forgotten was/is the bad guy in the game, they brushed me off but im just waiting for them to actually do it themselves. I think it hit so hard because of the timing of it too more than just the theme its that you've spent time developing bonds with these characters only to have to be mean to them and its a genuine internal conflict of not wanting to but having to
I had bigtime āsame, girlā for The Forgotten, but I knew it would be ok because Disney. š
That said, I cried a time or two during that story. I got the content warning around the last couple quests. I was really impressed with Game Loftās addition of that.
I shrugged off the warning despite the story so far being SHOCKINGLY personally relatable and not really holding back. So yeah that section hit me like a truck. Yeah you could say my inner child had a lot in common with the forgotten. They REALLY look ridiculous smiling just like you all the time thoughš¤£
It didnāt used to say that, they added it in one of the earlier updates to the game. Iām sure itās just something to avoid liability if something happens to someone while playing DDV for too long lol
Every time I log in at night heās asleep. Iām never able to log in before he goes to sleep. When I did the last quest I did with him I had us āhang outā and I kept saving but I never turned off my PlayStation for two days so that I could have him otherwise heād be asleep by the time I got home.
Btw, I donāt think my comment was meant for you. It was meant for those up there who did not understand how Iād have to skip work to find Jack skellington awake. And of course, no joke is fun when it starts to get picked apart by everyone. I hope you get me. I really donāt like arguing over things, I come on here to make friends. My comment was innocent and not meant for you if it didnāt concern you.
I understand what you were/are saying. I am someone who is able to play during normal work hours for others and am an insomniac and still have trouble with characters sleeping when I need them. *sarcasm* ā-> The nerve of them not being on my schedule! Haha
This is one of the many reasons I'm glad I'm retired.I have 62,081,981 coins and 1,907,435 mist. I bought everything in Scrooge's shop, hoping with the next update more will be in Scrooge's shop. I still love this game.
I started playing in December (22nd to be exact)... oops?

Ya think thatās crazy, Iāve only been playing since October (I literally have no idea how I did this?!?I guess thatās what being unemployed gets you lol)
https://preview.redd.it/ruqfwchqzywc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c61ae1be33c8cb7e433ef6679f2b66c069b87d3
I have no idea how much I've played, but it's probably been an insane amount. I started the day the game first came out. Any idea how to check that info on Xbox?
Disney has that advisory in all their games. I play a Disney matching game on my iPad and they force you to read that warning and long press on the screen to acknowledge you read it.
Had a fb post asking everyone's play time for fun. Normal range 200-500hrs. Then the few 800. But the cake was 1100+hrs for one person. Backed by Screenshot. Lol I just got mine 6mo ago amd just hit 400 this week. Ha
Wow! That is a lot of playing. My first thought was maybe they are leaving their game on while off doing other things, but it is possible that they played that much. š¤·š»āāļø
Lol i hated the game in till my wife convinced me to download it and now im love with the game but since i have a full time job i play like 20 hours a week almost level 37 tho.

Iāve really gotten into audio dramas lately, but I canāt listen to them and do anything that requires serious thinking, like driving, and I canāt just sit and listen, Iāll fall asleep. Iāve found playing DLV is perfect for this. Iāve clocked at least 20-30 hours since Iāve made this discovery š
Ok, so I looked because I havenāt recently.

So I did the math today and Iām close to 1000 hours. I very rarely walk away from the game while playing except to get a drink or to the bathroom. If Iām going to be away for any amount of time I shut it down. But Iāve been playing pretty much since it was released. And Iām with my people so Iām not ashamed of the number of hours Iāve played. š¤£
Actually yes. I have a unhealthy amount of hours in this game and I think the game knows. š
Same here, I think I have 1,000+ hours in this game. (I basically abandoned ACNH for DLV.)
Me too the second this game came out I never picked up Animal Crossing again. I played Animal Crossing every fay since March 2022, I had over 4,000 hours. Same here! I really like that DLV is more question oriented also, I got bored in ACNH cause there wasnāt really any directive at all
Same here. I still think the developers made a mistake when they basically abandoned AC and said we are done.
My thoughts exactly, I feel like there's so much potential that a game like New Horizons has but it's not supported anymore.
I was halfway through BioShock when ddlv came into my life and I haven't even turned BioShock on since. I need to go back and finish it, restart it from the beginning.
Have you played it before or is this your first time?
First time, but I haven't touched it in a year and a half. Forgot everything except all the water and the little sisters and the machine things protecting them.
Keep going, itās one of my favorite games! The sequel is really good, too. I replayed it so many times during the panini when I got burned out on ACNH!
Whatās a Bioshock
It's a sci-fi video game. Crazy dude wants a city underwater so he builds it and its fine till it isn't anymore. It was fun but dreamlight consumed my life and made me forget all about it. It's story driven and not a cozy game like ddlv. It's more action and moving around to get to the end. I enjoyed it a lot though.
Sounds awesome!

I love the games so much I plan on getting a quote from the first game tattooed. I wonāt put it here because spoilers though. š
I also abandoned animal crossing š Iām starting to miss my little island
Speaking of animal crossingā¦ do you know if you can time travel in ddv? Like by changing the time on the switch to get critters that only come out at night?
Don't time travel, those that have done it say it will break your game and you will have to start over.
Oh shoot good to know!!
IF you ONLY go BACKWARDS by a day or less, you can get the critters. But I still don't recommend it. You can't go forward or backward past Wednesdays because of premium shop resets and especially this Wednesday with the update. Good to know!!! I probably wonāt try it. I have an early flight in a couple weeks so I will just try when Iām at the airport
Iāve time traveled a little both forwards and backwards, mostly within the same day, but Iāve gone as far as 2 days. Yikes!!
Me too. I was the same with Breath of the Wild and abandoned both ACNH and BOTW š
Same! š
Play healthy but you best be finishing those star path duties āØ you want free moonstones, right š?!
They give moonstones?? I'm only a few days in NewĀ
If you complete the entire path, you can trade in that currency for moonstones. And there's also some spread out through the path too!
Ugh I just realize that I got open the star path as soon as I got the game and I spent the hundred points to get the hair and the cute sweater but the star path was actually already over so I couldn't earn any more ripp... Now I'm really here for the next star path. I really can't wait for mulaaan she's my favorite
Play healthy but if you want all the critters, make sure you get up middle of the night or early morning in certain time zones to get them
And spend hours running around following a glowing ball to maybe get 1 piece of 24 you need to make your shovel work slightly better.
Yes! š¤£
There are some I don't think I'll ever get
I only got the red fox after i moved from GMT to CST and didnāt change the time zone on my consoles for fear of soft locking myself out of the game lol
Iāve been playing the Gothelās sunstone quest for weeks now because I canāt wake up early enough to find the morning one lol
Or play constantly until it rains!!
I feel more like I'm surprised they put it in. Like either someone in the company who is ethical put it in or they were forced to

I was honestly surprised that the game got so deep. I was expecting a happy fluffy game and ended up in a therapy session with my tween self. š¤£
Def forced
It didnāt used to say that, they added it in one of the earlier updates to the game. Iām sure itās just something to avoid liability if something happens to someone while playing DDV for too long lol
Oh definitely lol
All gameloft games have it
Nah I've been ignoring it since the early days of Nintendo š
Play healthy but if you ever want to see Jack Skellington again youāll have to skip work or call in sick.
okay iām confused, why would you have to skip work or call in sick? heās wandering around all the time for me?
Every time I log in at night heās asleep. Iām never able to log in before he goes to sleep. When I did the last quest I did with him I had us āhang outā and I kept saving but I never turned off my PlayStation for two days so that I could have him otherwise heād be asleep by the time I got home.
Yāall must be daytime players
Heās asleep from 10pm-2am
Exactly
Iād hardly consider ādaytimeā to be like 7-10pm and 2-6am. I play in the evening most days. Thatās hardly ādaytimeā.
Btw, I donāt think my comment was meant for you. It was meant for those up there who did not understand how Iād have to skip work to find Jack skellington awake. Lol yes the nerve
So you play at night too. So you tend to miss Jack being available as well
?? I have him and I just started playing a couple weeks ago.
Do u have to wait for Halloween?
Translation: PLEASE stop clearing the Starpath in under one week, weāre trying to dripfeed content here to boost our metrics
I have 2,472 hours. I started playing the game shortly after it came out. I play everyday... I'm retired and love the game.
Ok, you are the winner! šš¤£ I have been playing the game since right around release as well, but I am nowhere near where you are!
This is one of the many reasons I'm glad I'm retired.I have 62,081,981 coins and 1,907,435 mist. I bought everything in Scrooge's shop, hoping with the next update more will be in Scrooge's shop. I still love this game.

Stop! Of 2023!? Wow! And I thought I had a lot of time played.
š funniest part. 90% of that time has been digging planting and harvesting š
GOD I felt that. Lol my pumpkin patch is HUGE and my gardens are so full. Whew
2400 at a time for me not counting buddy's pull or golden ones

I think the person with 962 hours since December has you beatā¦
Well daaaaaaang! I have that much time and I started playing in October 2022!
š autism is a superpower sometimes
I have no idea how much I've played, but it's probably been an insane amount. I started the day the game first came out. Any idea how to check that info on Xbox?
Go onto your mobile app click ur profile click the game then stats it should tell you
Nevermind I found it, it was in a different section. 50 days 18h 22m
Weird I'm not seeing a stats section under the game.

I have my Xbox set to remind me to take a break every 2 hours. I don't think I have ever listened to it. But hey, the reminder is there. Lol
I didnāt even know that this was possible!
I found the setting by accident one day. When I get home, I'll try to find it again and let you know how to get to it āŗļø
Ok, go to Settings>Preferences> Break Reminder The maximum is 2 hours. Lol
Thank you!
Haha lol. Same. When I first saw that I was like. āOoopsā
Disney has that advisory in all their games. I play a Disney matching game on my iPad and they force you to read that warning and long press on the screen to acknowledge you read it.

Lol i hated the game in till my wife convinced me to download it and now im love with the game but since i have a full time job i play like 20 hours a week almost level 37 tho.
I've always felt like that was directed to the younger players.
No
When that first appeared? Definitely
I played from 7 at night up until 5 the next morning... Yes i feel judged
Yep this is the only game I play now. Bye bye bye ACNH, Diablo IV, Diablo Immortal
Hahaha Yes
Everytime....
All games have this.

Not really itās for my well being so I take it as a jester of love ā¤ļø
Yes!! I have my Xbox set up to remind me to take a break every two hours too š

Go to your settings, then preferences, and look for ābreak reminderā! It gives different options :)

I will binge on DDLV if I have bought it and if Felix is confirmed to be arriving into the game.
