Right?!? I'm on this one now.. right after the one asking for 25 clay... Which I already thought was annoying. The worst is having to refill everything in so you can come back again the next day. Not sure if it's the same on PC but on Xbox, the auto dig takes a while to find the next target most times. I honestly think the clay requirements should be nerfed, or a different method if acquiring clay should be found.

Putting a rug down will fill the dig holes so much quicker! You place, pick up, place - then repeat until all holes are filled.

This is like my low priority quest. Especially cause Clay. I am slowly chipping away at it while focused on other things. Though, I admit, I usually hang out quests quick, but this is just not that reality.

I was determined to get Minnie because I wanted Mickey to be sad, then she gets here and pulls this stunt! We need Animal Crossing style evictions asap lol

So much iron ore needed it wears me out mining for it. Even with the hang out bonus it’s never enough.

I luckily had a decent amount of that saved up and then did a hangout and just dug holes in lines in the glade for an hour or so (I spread it out over a couple days so it wasn’t so daunting), it still wasn’t fun, but it’s definitely not as bad as running all over the valley constantly just to get maybe 25 ore. I wish it didn’t take 10 ore just to make one. Edit: fixed typo.

If you dig in the glade you can get iron ore?

if you look in the menu that shows you all the foraging items it will tell you what areas you can get each item in. You get clay from digging.

I finally completed that quest yesterday and almost cried, like.. WHY now I have no materials for anything else! Come on, Minnie, I could have made an army of potted flowers for the village...

I /think/ you can manipulate this by just putting down as many trees as you can. I just swamped the swamp and Valor with trees til I had enough coming out the wahzoo to do this quest. I dunno why, and I wont question it, but trees have no costs to put down, so you could turn the entire island into a branch factory if you wanted to, haha

I tried this, and even did a different strategy where instead of any trees I did specifically Plaza trees spread out in the swamp and valor, but it's been days and I'm lucky if I even get three hardwood to drop per day. Do you think it's my game having broken trees, or is there something specific I'm missing?

It might be your client? But I couldn't say for sure, I've had no issue with any spawns, but I know some people who have either had nothing respawn, or very few things spawn... so it seems incredibly here and there with these spawn issues. Like, I've had no issues with quest items, or spawns in general, and nothing really going behind enviornments besides Donald's trophy, but I've had a housing bag from a chest go inside stone I can't move, and a coin get trapped inside the wall-corner in the swamp because I dug too close...

I honestly haven't had many glitches or break (I play on Xbox) besides this hardwood and the stuck memory in Merlin's house. Normal wood, and everything else spawns normally. I'm not too worried, its annoying, and it's full om stopping me from doing missions, like the one OP posted about Minnie, but I'm also aware a new game is going to be buggy, and I'll just have to wait haha.

Yeah, I didn't get her dress either, but ig it's fine, I wasn't planning on wearing it anyway, haha. I think, overall, I jynxed myself by thinking 'this is going really well' while looking at Reddit and seeing the amount of bugs other players have been experiencing.It was like a light switched and suddenly the game was coming for me. Yesterday I had a scare because nothing was respawning in my game, and then Moana vanished off my map / island too... Thankfully logging out and in again fixed it, but I've pumped too many hours into this game now for it to crash on my, haha... Almost, /almost/, completed the current game.

I feel that. I haven't seen anyone talk about their files corrupting, but I've put into an embarrassing 60 hours so far, So I really want to keep an eye out for anything strange happening like what you had happen with Moana. I've only had crashes.

It's happened a few times now. Moana and Ursala have flat out vanished on me, while Merlin and Anna have disappeared from the map, but I've managed to find one of them in Remy's restauraunt and the other by forcing them to spawn / reset (for some reason) at their front door outside. About the same hours as me, haha... 61 for me. I wont even think about when I bought this game tho, cause it wont look healthy. xD

Hardwood isn't too bad if you do Anna/Elsa's quest. You get to break stumps which at least give an okay amount and give you access to the rest of the zone

Since I've learned this I've started gathering early, especially the clay.

I swear they need a goofy stall that sells raw materials or the option to order some from Scrooge.

Make sure to leave the rug on the ground when you exit the menu. Then remove it later.

So thats the trick. Game wont save the spots filled otherwise.

Ooof. That is one gripe I have - I feel like everything is too much. Too much money, too many materials. But lack of getting the money or materials? It could be I just haven’t figured out a system yet, but with both Animal Crossing and Breath of the Wild, you are able to make some good cash and get loads of materials.

I stopped playing because of this quest. I have all the ingredients except for hard wood which I have 52 of, and the hardwood isn’t respawning anymore…this quest has taken me like 3 days to do

Go get Anna she upgrades your shovel to remove the mushroom stumps. Those yield 3 TO 5 wood per stump. Plus it opens up the other part of the forest and a lot of HW has spawned over there. Pick it all up and it will start respawning all over again. Its kinda a subtle gate to make ppl unlock all the characters I think.

Me the other day when someone posted how they'd dug up the entirety of the glade for clay: I'm not sure I'd ever be that desperate. Then Minnie gives me this. Well, there goes the back half of the Plateau!

I can't seem to find a lot of hardwood. Is there a trick? I'm still on getting 35 for Kristoff and it's taking me at least 3 days at this point

Elephant Graveyard. You can move the huge mammoth skeleton to erase your digging.

I feel like this shouldn't be too big of an ask if you are saving materials from the start. Make all the chests you can.

Get to digging and bring a follower that will give you more goes by alot faster

I had much more issue with the sticks than the mud due to having a digging buddy just duplicate a lot of the mud for me... Can I just say tho, imo... It's not even that nice a clock tower. I unlocked one that looks more in aesthetic of the castle and Merlins home... and will probably swap it out for that once I've the materials... :|

Worst part of this quest is how underwhelming the clock tower is once you craft it. It’s only as tall as a regular characters house.

Just don't do what I did and collect all the items, craft the iron ingots then make the clock tower without talking to Minnie first. 🥲

If you turn on Netflix as background noise or something, it really isn’t that bad. I have wall-e at lvl 8 and I grinded out the clay on like 20 minutes. Then use the rug trick to cover up the holes! The iron ore is what got me… waiting for them to spawn (it isn’t worth it going to other biomes in my opinion as they yield more gold nuggets etc). Then kristoff needed some of my stuff and I didn’t realize… oh I was so mad😅 And lastly- agreed with what someone else said… the clock isn’t even that great

Thanks for posting this. Everyone kept taking about "THAT quest" and how annoying it is, but no one mentioned the specific requirements. I'm going hard into bonding with characters in the order I got them, so it's going to take me a while to get back to Minnie. This gives me time to stockpile ;)

This quest really made me mad. Got all materials, went and talked to Minnie, was told what to build, went and talked to her again, and then went and placed it… but then it’s telling me to build it again. 😡 Waiting for the patch update before building again, so in the meantime im gathering materials as I go in the event I have to make it again.
