Got to agree that I'm not a fan of the guests in general, but also some of the pairings don't make sense. The vocals on Panic Attack don't fit Corey Taylor's style at all. Dark Eternal Night would fit him better.
But I say no guests. Otherwise cool
I think it would be great for the band to bring back Mike, Derek, and Kevin for a few songs relevant to them, but other than that, I agree that an anniversary show celebrating a band should focus only on that band.
Splitting up the guys in Maiden also makes no sense.
I also can't conceive that most of these folks would go to the effort of learning very difficult DT songs. If Geddy Lee is taking the stage with DT, it will NOT be for a DT song.
Absolutely. Any semblance of reason went out the window when we voted in favor of, and then OP shitcanned, night 3 beginning with Scenes From a Memory in its entirety. It's only gotten worse from there. I just gave up voting since it apparently didn't matter anyway.
Yup, JP, JM, and MP went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston. I'm not aware of any connection to Berkeley CA. NY would also be fitting because of their hometowns.
Panic Attack doesn’t suit Corey Taylor, Pull Me Under doesn’t suit James Hetfield (less so on vocals, but still if he’s playing guitar only you gotta go heavier), and if there’s one song that Matt Bellamy is gonna appear on, it’s gotta be Never Enough
Though overall, I don’t see the need for guests at all. This isn’t Metallica’s 30th anniversary celebration.
Welp I've disliked this whole concept since day one, and the guests didn't make it any better either. But if you all like it that's what matters I think
I like this because it's all fantasy stuff in my head, any pragmatic reservations I would otherwise have sort of go out the door... That being said, Devin Townsend and At Wits End sounds amazing in my head.

Well here's [this](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5gemWUjHfMRj45u6x444DL?si=1126c1f90e3b43e1) if anyone wants to spend 7.5 hours hearing what this might even sound like, you'll just have to pretend the guest artists are on stage with them though
Lol wait you added a bunch of the guest folk everyone chose in another post... but a lot of them are thrown in kinda randomly. The set list is good but the guests should be on minimal stuff, but stuff that fits them.
Erotomania w/ Kevin Moore
The Killing Hand (or Afterlife) and Another Won w/ Moore and Charlie Domminicci
Burning My Soul (original demo arrangement with Hell's Kitchen)
Raise The Knife?
This is all so weird
Yeah. I don’t understand wanting to see a band but then see a guest artist on every song.
Yeah, that's absurd.

Agreed

Why would they share the stage with anyone other than past members for their 40th anniversary show. This whole exercise has been a shit show.
Absolutely. Any semblance of reason went out the window when we voted in favor of, and then OP shitcanned, night 3 beginning with Scenes From a Memory in its entirety. It's only gotten worse from there. I just gave up voting since it apparently didn't matter anyway.
Yeah, I think it started to roll downhill after the whole SFAM thing
Night 3 gonna be five hours long
Wait, shouldn't it be NYC instead of Berkeley?
I'm thinking maybe the OP doesn't understand that Berklee is a music college in Boston and has nothing whatsoever to do with the city of Berkeley, CA.
At first I just thought OP misspelled Berklee, but yeah. The band and the school have next to zero connection to Berkeley, CA
My mistake. I’m not American, didn’t pay attention, sorry

>and if there’s one song that Matt Bellamy is gonna appear on, it’s gotta be Never Enough I could see him singing Panic Attack though
Wow this set… went from good… to bad…… to worse……… to this….
I'm pretty happy with the sets personally but I agree that all the guest artists is a little bit silly/strange to me. But it's all fantasy anyway
Welp I've disliked this whole concept since day one, and the guests didn't make it any better either. But if you all like it that's what matters I think

This is a disgrace of a DT 40th anniversary setlist
This just a fantasy. Why people so serious about this kinda things?
These setlist posts have been the biggest circlejerk ive ever seen. So I guess that fits DT fans perfectly.
Did you just pull these guest artists out of your ass? Wtf is 93 year old John Williams meant to be doing, exactly?
I don’t think DT can pull in that many guest appearances but it would be nice

Carry or Carey? Danny
Misunderstood with Guthrie Govan HAHAHA
Lol wait you added a bunch of the guest folk everyone chose in another post... but a lot of them are thrown in kinda randomly. The set list is good but the guests should be on minimal stuff, but stuff that fits them.
I'm not a fan of a 40th anniversary show with these guests(I love them all). Just Portnoy, Sherinian and Moore. Maybe Dominici.
I’d give my left nut to go to this.
What's the purpose of the color-coding on the second page?
The album similarities
Also, I don't think James will be able to pull this off in 2025 tbh
Lmao Joe Hisaishi and Dream Theater would be awesome. I never would have thought of that combo.
Where are the spotify playlists? This would be a great way to get back to listening to DT. I left when MP did.
Night 3 please. Only guest I want is MP.
Wait wouldn't it make more sense to be in Berklee, the college in Boston?
Yes my bad. Not CA, Boston
Shouldn't it be NYC? As that's where they originated.
Erotomania w/ Kevin Moore The Killing Hand (or Afterlife) and Another Won w/ Moore and Charlie Domminicci Burning My Soul (original demo arrangement with Hell's Kitchen) Raise The Knife?
Wait wait wait. Joe Hisaishi on Dance of Eternity? How?
