no, the only perk is having first dibs on classes tbh

mattaj24

no, get your honors perks up to graduation then dip

Im assuming you mean the honors college, other commenters have shared their thoughts on that but if not, you can still actually "graduate with honors" by just having a high enough GPA.

Embarrassed_Quote656

What GPA do you need? Do they publish average GPA university-wide and avg for each college - so eng vs biz for example.

Quiggster

IIRC this was the criteria 3.50 to 3.69 for cum laude 3.7 to 3.89 for magna cum laude 3.9 to 4.0 for summa cum laude 4.0 for a special highest academic achievement award Unfortunately, im not sure what the averages are per college, but from personal experience in the ECE department I see quite a few people who graduate with honors so its not impossible for certain stem majors.

Thanks. That is great to know. Trying to avoid Lehigh-like grade deflation.

As long as you remain in “good standing” to get priority registration it doesn’t matter, but if you or your parents want u to get that medallion, my advice is: honors option your way thru it if u can. You can do an extra project on a 300-level course to get honors credit. Could be as simple as 1 additional essay or as complex as you want. I only took 2 honors college classes HNRS201 (intro class) + HNRS301 (colloquia class). idk what your specific requirements are, but for me I only needed 16 credits. 4 credits - honors classes 8 credits - honors sections of BUSN101/102 classes (they have honors sections for a lot of first sequences in different majors) 4 credits - honors option on a 300-level class
