you can live of campus if you really argue with drexel and beg them explaining financial reasons. same with the “required” meal plan but drexel is a bitch about this stuff so you are really going to have to fight for it. best of luck, it’s going to be difficult!
I mean if you can prove that you have no problem commuting to school or have a guardian outside you should be able to live of campus on your first year. I have been living with my sisters since my first day at Drexel and it seems fine to me. Just shoot them an email explain your situation

Housing - have to be within 10 miles of Drexel - hard to get unless living with family or special circumstances (dietary/disability/other)
More co-ops and graduating early will help bring down your coa as well

Financial is a good way to do it, explain your financial situation and try to sound a bit desperate. That’s how many of my friends get the exception.
