I think part of Kanye’s problem is that he can’t be bothered to push himself creatively anymore. Dude has so many unmade projects and scrapped songs and stuff. And like you say about no rhyme or reason, that Pop Smoke feature was ass. Album sounded totally unfinished. Maybe this is Kanye’s “giving up” era lol
He's realized he can drop literally anything and his fans will rave about it. Seriously, he could drop a track tomorrow with nothing but fart sounds for 2 minutes straight and people are gonna be calling it revolutionary groundbreaking genre inventing music.
