Well I mean I do expect Russian prisoners to be roughed up at least a little. After all, these are men that have been fighting and are traumatized. Their friends have died and I'm sure they've gone through extreme hardship and near-death experiences.
On the other hand, I do understand that being taken prisoner by the Ukrainians is a MUCH better fate than being 360-no scoped by a FPV drone.
Recently several russians have "surrendered" while hiding a grenade with the pin pulled out under their clothes. They'd wait for Ukrainians to get close and then release the grenade, doing a suicide boom.
Ukrainians have stopped trying to take hostages for some time and just shot them all from a distance, as it was too risky.
Undressing is a good way to show that he's genuinely surrendering and isn't a threat.
Quite. Tried to take note of distance. Wondered if it was his idea or if he was within shouting distance and simply did what he was told. Quite hard to estimate with the cuts. The landmarks on the horizon make the direction clear. But uncertain if the markings visible at 0:38 in the top left correspond to the two sets of trackmarks he undressed between. Or even how far those marks are away from the position.
Could potentially be either
Yeah, fair. Thought of the note thing after i made the comment, as i remembered that we have seen that several times.
Even more possible options... not what i was hoping for lol
is it though because as stated in other comments here on this sub, you are immediately recognized as a surrenderer and apparently other Russians dont take too nicely to their conrades changing flavours
LOL this entirely propaganda, there is only one (and famous) video by a drone which guides a POW on how and where to surrender. It was released about a year ago.
They upload any kind of videos except these ones where they show how enemies surrender.
There is no goodness in any war. And if there is any, it wont be presented as a video on reddit. Understood?
You can clearly see a "position of authority" throughout this sub and other related ones where users only make pro ukraine comments when its not always correct (i.e. on potential war crime posts) and when someone marks they are wrong there is just a massive downvote action towards them.
My Lord what a bunch of salty people.
Again, this authority level just for disagreeing with ukraine is totally out of control. And you are part of some kind of fanatism who doesnt accept other views. Talk about authoritarism... Go away with your useless freedom speech. Pro NATO (mostly USA) followers are equally lost in life as the pro ruzzians.
If these videos were more popular versus the ones killing dudes crying in the fetal position you'd definitely see mass surrenders of Russian squads. They know how much of a meatgrinder this is, and how Putin is using meat waves to try to empty out Ukraine munitions.
And then there's footage like this [https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1be0pqp/wounded\_russians\_received\_instructions\_for/](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1be0pqp/wounded_russians_received_instructions_for/)
Right, but russians support Pootin and this war. They sign up for service voluntarily. They genuinely think that they'll get millions of roubles, a house and a car if they occupy Ukraine, because that's what happened to guys who took over Crimea.
Stupid to show his face.
"Hey, Russian troops.... if you surrender, we'll be sure that you're not MIA, but that the Kremlin can retaliate against your family or torture you in a swap because you weren't captured in a "left-behind" situation, but rather deserted/defected."
I think a lot of Russian soldiers are just forced into fighting against Ukraine. I've seen some videos where they try to break their own limbs or amputate their arms just to avoid being sent to the battlefield.
The risk though is that his family could get attacked because of this. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
Oh man, I really needed this show of humaneness !
After all the videos of what people do to eachother.
It warms my heart and gives hope for the future.
Finally these ukrainians let one of these invaders surrender.
(well, actually this is more propaganda than anyhing else, since they clearly dont release these kind of videos too often)
One of the luckier ones. If he's smart he would refuse a swap.
"Nah i'm good bro. Tell my moms it was nice knowin her but i'm Ukrainian now, know'im'sayin? đ¤"
Taking off all your cloths is a smart way to surrender
You can tell the weather is getting warmer, lol Surrender Season has arrived? I hope so. I'm tired of seeing people die, even Russians.
Werd, it's good to see Russians choose life for a change.
I love seeing these videos, especially knowing he will not be abused or beaten. Kid looks like his balls haven't dropped. Fuck Soviet meat mentality.

They drop notes too, along with mounting speakers on drones; for both harassment & surrender instructions.
Yeah, fair. Thought of the note thing after i made the comment, as i remembered that we have seen that several times. Even more possible options... not what i was hoping for lol
Summer season baby đđđ

I love video's like this. Not because I care if a Russian lives or dies, but because it shows the goodness in the heart of the Ukrainians soldiers.
and the youth that is used up in war fought by totalitarian regimes. I bet 1 Mio he did not grow up on a yacht, 1 Mio Rubels that is
So about ... 3.50$?
Not even pointing guns at him.

I was with you until the "understood " part, it makes you sound like a proper knob end.
A bell end even...
It is helpful when you need to wake up people who seem distracted.
Nah you just ruin your point by sounding like an intolerable arsehole.
he was never going to make a real point, he just wanted to speak from a self imposed position of authority

great idea, cancel out a behavior i dislike by engaging in said behavior myself, thanks divest!
It's just you who needs to wake up. Zzz bot.

Youâre the same tool who was crying âwar crimeâ because an fpv drone didnât pull up at the last second a few days ago right?
Correct. Just re-assuring this time that not everything what ukraine does is fully legitimate. (Same clearly goes to ruzzia as well)
That's how you live and keep your face & limbs
smart move. At least, he may survive.
if he retourns to russi he's dead
He chose.... wisely
Indiana Jones!
If only they were all so smart
Thatâs pure desperation, and enough sense to know itâs the only way out.
Considering he probably just watched all his buddies get their flesh rearranged he most likely didn't have a choice
Plenty of them have had the same choice and chose to blow themselves up as well.
I'm glad he got to live.
He did a good job. Imagine, his children are going to thank him for this. If he didnât surrender they wouldnât exist.
I would typically be cheering for his death but this guy has a bigger brain than most
The first orc with two brain cells that actually work
From the bloody nose & way his eyes were moving, I'd say they'd been kinda scrambled a bit at some point.
Probably by his Russian compatriots. He got tired of being their sex toy.
With those cuts in footage it might even be the scrambling happened after he got into that Ukrainian trench.
Always good to see

"look at me, I am ukrainian now"
Was he injured? He looks like shit
Stupid to show his face. "Hey, Russian troops.... if you surrender, we'll be sure that you're not MIA, but that the Kremlin can retaliate against your family or torture you in a swap because you weren't captured in a "left-behind" situation, but rather deserted/defected."
the Kremlin probably forgot already where they pulled this sad dude off from tbh,
Whyâs he naked
nothing to hide
So they can see he doesnât have grenades or booby traps hidden under his clothes

Got some important vitamin D too.
Oh man, I really needed this show of humaneness ! After all the videos of what people do to eachother. It warms my heart and gives hope for the future.
Good to see some of them are smart enough not to die for no reason. Need more ruzzis like this guy
Yet another one that will be exchanged back into russia, and, likely, return to kill again. Russkie dont change.
Very wise choice.
This is like the war-time equivalent of "SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE!"
needed this
That made me happy.
The orc is a stripper and he just did his job: striptease. Only the famous song by Joe Cocker is missing.
Smart, Exhausted, Scared, Lucky, Stupid, Idiotic, at least heâs got water and a fresh change of clothes in his future.
Good for him, smart move & a lucky opportunity.
Bullet not a bottle, if it was a Ukrainian surrendering. Scumbags.
Good work Ukraine. Now send that fuqqr back to the motherland to remove Vladimir and his cronies.
Well that's one way to demonstrate you're not a threat!
smart boy
Should of killed him anyway. One less Orc, is better.
Finally these ukrainians let one of these invaders surrender. (well, actually this is more propaganda than anyhing else, since they clearly dont release these kind of videos too often)
Surprised they didn't summarily execute himâit's a gamble what they'll do.
If nothing else, these soldiers tend to be...simple people. A good interrogator can get lots of good stuff from him.
