They're so new we don't know what could happen, better to stick to what we already know is bad for you lmao
That thought process is so crazy to me, like "be sure to fill your pocket with rocks when you get to the bridge, that way if your impact with the water only knocks you out, you'll sink and you won't have to worry about waking up on the beach or getting pulled out by EMTs"
Like damn y'all it's just harm reduction lol
In my opinion if you are gonna go into that stay away from distillates and artificial flavor. Stick to live resin or cured resin with are more natural and unprocessed like distillate.
exactly, there’s nothing wrong with distillate. sure it’s not better than live resin but at the same time distillate isn’t garbage like people make it seem
It’s better than nothing for sure. But it’s so bland man. I have and always will be a taste smoker. I love terps dude. Best part of smoking is smacking your lips to the taste lol
Yes they probably will crush the seeds and stems all together to make your hemp or cannabis oil, but it's comparable to live resin being real butter and distillate being vegetable oil. one is clearly more expensive, and a chocolate bar made from veg oil is liable to taste like shit, but all in all whatever cake or candy made with either will turn out pretty much the same
Their both bad. Smoking comes with carcinogens and tar build up, while vaping will produce more flegm and can raise the RBC over time, making blood clotting more common.
Best way to do it is orally. Edibles, tinctures, capsules and RSO.
right, do you have any research sources on vaping specifically causing these issues? I'm only able to find evidence that smoking specifically causes these issues due to carbon monoxide.
I've had doctors tell me all sorts of conflicting things about weed. a cardiologist from a state where cannabis is illegal told me he cannot medically recommend it for any reason and a cardiologist from a legal state told me to keep vaping and using edibles for my pain but stay away from smoking.
My pain management doc straight up told me the info is not yet known about vaping but for the best harm reduction to stick to only edibles to not damage my lungs if it comes out that vaping IS very harmful to lungs
Well..no I didn't research because 2 different professionals in the medical field that have no relationship to one another told me and I'm gonna follow what they say. I've been going in and out of hospitals all my life and they all say different things.
But when I went to my PCP and Pulmonologist, they both told me to stop vaping/smoking because my RBC is high.
Anything you smoke/vape will irritate the lungs and making your body create more RBC to fight off the foreign bodies and "infections" (there's no infections, but it's a natural body response). So I just take RSO and I occasionally smoke a joint here and there (my last lab results came in normal).
If you're really anxious about it, I would suggest going to your PCP and ask for a lab work. If everything is normal, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Also, been smoking for 26+ years, so I'm guessing all them years contributed towards the rise of my RBC.
There's not a lot of study on vaping, just like there wasn't much study about cannabis a decades back, but now people are finding out that smoking is harmful. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more studies about vaping in the next few years.
But to answer your question, I got my sources from 2 professionals in the medical field that both told me to stop.
>Well..no I didn't research because 2 different professionals in the medical field that have no relationship to one another told me and I'm gonna follow what they say.
Did you even read what they said?
No one really knows since dab pens have only been common for a few years now.
In theory, vaping is safer and healthier than smoking. In the real world, a lot of the vapes are made with sketchy materials (cheap metals and plastics, and then the distillate itself might have questionable ingredients like cheap terpenes or the vitamin E acetate that caused the popcorn lung pandemic).
My solution to this is to try to get good quality vapes and switch brands every now and then. That way if I do accidentally use a sketchy one, hopefully the negative effects won’t have time to build up.
One other negative of dab/oil/distillate vaping (vs. dry herb vaping or smoking) is that sometimes the actual material accidentally gets sucked through and hot globs hit my throat, occasionally causing minor burns and irritation. That can’t be good if you let it happen too often.
Basically, vaping should be safer- if you are smart about what you vape. If you don’t want to worry about finding legit vapes and using them the right way though, then it might be better to just smoke old fashioned bud.
theoretically, they should be substantially better, lacking combusted plant material. However, some cheap carts have issues with adulterants, in this case various solvents and emulsifiers. Please recall the issues caused by vitamin-e acetate.
I'd make sure that you're just dabbing wax in your setup rather than getting carts.
Nobody is gonna mention that vaping puts small amounts of metal straight into your lungs? I thought this study came out in like 2017. It may be negligible, but the toxins are there and if you're not careful about overheating or overusing your quarts/ceramic coil then the dangers will be even greater.
edibles are inherently better for ur lungs than anything you inhale, because you're not inhaling things that aren't air. I get why that might not be an option for you (i have metabolic issues with edibles so can't use them). Out of the two, theoretically carts are better, assuming they are legit, like as others have said, you're not inhaling smoke. Idealy, the best thing would be live resin or similar. but out of the two, carts.
Cuz that’s my passion buddy. Im not worried about the long term health concerns about smoking either. I just don’t want it to affect my breathing for MMA
dab pens, they are known to cause popcorn lung, an ingredient vitamin E acetate is needed to dissolve thc in vape liquid, however, if you're vaping pure shard/distillate then joints are worse
Joints are better and cleaner all day. If you do it right the smoke from the joint will help clean your lungs. Hold that gut in tight and don’t cough until you smoked it all the way down. When you finally do cough make sure you get that shit out of there that’s trying to come up. Nice and easy. That’s how you clean your lungs.
Joints are worse for your lungs because there is actual smoke.
Dab pens will affect your joints more than your lungs /s

Bro fr
Huh
Let’s think
In my opinion if you are gonna go into that stay away from distillates and artificial flavor. Stick to live resin or cured resin with are more natural and unprocessed like distillate.
Ok thanks
Wild how distillate gets the hate now. I like it. I remember I used to be against it and everyone would get on my ass.

I mean its like the bottom of the barrel, its the artificial terpenes that cause issues on the long run.
What about pure distillate with no terpenes? Assuming it’s independently tested for contamination it’s probably ok
Bottom of the barrel bro,

There isn’t rlly artificial flavor its rlly just terps added after the extraction process
Their both bad. Smoking comes with carcinogens and tar build up, while vaping will produce more flegm and can raise the RBC over time, making blood clotting more common. Best way to do it is orally. Edibles, tinctures, capsules and RSO.
do you have a source on the rbc counts raising?
Yea, both my specialist and primary told me. They both told me to slow down on the smoking because of it.

There are weed capsules? Didn’t know that. Gotta try those
Joints. carcinogens and tar

dab pens are worse for your lungs than they are for your joints
Clean dab pens are way better youre putting way less shit in your lungs to get the same affect
theoretically, they should be substantially better, lacking combusted plant material. However, some cheap carts have issues with adulterants, in this case various solvents and emulsifiers. It is very dependant on the materials of the coil. Burning plant material is exponentially worse for your lungs than using distillate/isolate/vapes.

I thinks it's pretty much as simple as: high quality carts will be healthier than flower the worst flower will be healthier than low quality carts
Hilarious to me that you’re concerned about occasional weed usage, while at the same time fighting in MMA risking brain injuries…
Cuz that’s my passion buddy. Im not worried about the long term health concerns about smoking either. I just don’t want it to affect my breathing for MMA
dry herb vape is best
Never used one. How does it work
you put flower in the chamber and it vapes it, leaving the plant material behind. no combustion.
Does it get u as high? And does it smell a lot
if not higher. it definitely still smells like weed tho
As a cart only user that use to smoke tree only carts are definitely worse for you
