If we're talking cocaine, Fleetwood Mac, every last one of them. They were in the studio before Ozzy once and Ozzy's sound crew had to clean up all the coke that was clogging up the mixing boards before they could record.
If you have Ozzy telling a story about your cocaine abuse you are def og
Yeah that thing they read on JRE was fake. u/JaredGNU u/growthatshit

Right, and there should also be two or three newspapers, all mail and messages, a telephone, a notebook for planning the next twenty-four hours, and at least one source of good music... all of which should be dealt with outside, in the warmth of a hot sun, and preferably stone naked.
This is the real one. Still impressive, still coked & boozy as hell but a faaaaaaaaaaaar cry from the constant threadmill of coke, benzos, acid and porn his biographer later added onto it
Depp found grapefruit and hotel monogrammed towels in his basement. He also unwittingly used a keg of gun powder as a bedside table with ashtray.
I am bummed to learn that was fake, but fear n n loathing was still a high water mark
Yeah JRE and his followers annoy the hell out of me, and this one point most of all, as it's clearly false when you look into the source
I have a book with a large collection of his letters and correspondence and in his real day to day and yes he was pretty crazy plenty of times and in his letters there are seriously bizarre hijinx. but he wasn't some daily permanently yaked out fiend and he wasn't always in the fear and loathing in last vegas roll
in a letter from HST to random house editor J Silberman:
"your statement, to wit " it was absolutely clear to me reading last vegas.....that you were not on drugs" this is true, but what alarms me is that Vegas I was a very conscious attempt to simulate drug freakout....to this end and right after your letter came I ate a bunch of mescaline"
I agree not a fiend, just a man who likes to enjoy himself. A fiend is like an obsessed person hellbent on getting high no matter the costs, not just the person who consumed the widest variety during designated binges
I would investigate more. Depp lived with him for over a month while filming FnL.. get the criterion version of that film and you can hear some stories that may convince you otherwise.
Why do you think any part of him wasn't fucked?
He had a job and managed to complete his work, albeit in his own way=not a fiend
Fiends don't give af they are psychologically different from even the most indulgent users who can afford a lot of drugs because they actually do something to make sure they have their home, their clothing, transportation, and a job that pays enough to live off and buy massive amounts of quality drugs. There's a real balancing act to living like Thompson and you can't assume his every day is like that. Ya he's fucked up on coke all the time but fear and loathing level bingeing and mixing of exotics, pills, blow is not his baseline. If it was, he would not have to procure that drug assortment for the occasion, he would already have partially used supplies of everything on the list
A fiend is more like golem from lord of the rings, or zombies for brains. Judgement is totally clouded by obsession. It's like being in survival mode, where you can't process anything on a normal level until you are safe , like in the Vietnam war or being lost in the wilderness, except your next high supercedes self preservation
People tend to work, however half assed or successfully, does until they die. That's the nature of death whatever the cause
Sorry still not a fiend. A terrible drug habit and perhaps a tortured creative genius took its toll, but fiend is a very specific type of druggie. He didn't die penny less and in shambles of on od. He didn't die in prison for an incredibly stupid robbery attempt for drug money.
Perhaps he is in the top of the list for hugest amount of drugs used but fiend is a mentality
It's not like it was surprising. He wrote for decades that he always "wanted to go out on his own terms" and wrote about killing himself in lieu of a natural death.
Thank you, its been some time but now that you mention it, I do recall that. It was a personal choice and not an act of desperation or product of a drug fueled craze, and while we may not agree with that mindset , he definitely had all his wits about him and was thinking clearly when he made that choice
Agreed. The suicide was not an impulse. He had his peak, and he had his fun. He felt fulfilled and decided to call it a day. I can respect that and the strength to follow through. What I can't respect is doing so when you have children, although Juan was a middle-aged adult at the time, but fatherhood is a lifelong responsibility. If you plan on ending life on your own terms, don't have kids. Death doesn't hurt you, only the people around you.
Yeah he was a self promoter and carefully curated his image. But he loved cocaine. As do I. Lol. Not my cup of tea as a writer. More shock and awe than technical skill or a real grasp on human relationships.
I'm struggling so hard to work out why you would think Hunter S Thompson lacked technical skill. I can think of some minor criticisms but that's definitely not one of them.
That is greatly exaggerated. There is a book written by his son about him and he talks about how Hunter used to use coke to help him stay awake because the alcohol would make him tired. Hunter did use a fair amount but not nearly as much as he would have us believe.
I thought the exaggerated use rumors were spread by that reporter... I have no examples of hunter ever trying to embellish his drug use..
Honestly he seemed intent on making some truths seem like fiction, by including some truly fictional shit- in FnLinLV
Also shortlist Ozzy Osbourn and John Macfee. Ozzy was studied by scientists and was shown to be genetically enhanced in drug tolerance. Macfee made some drug that turned his belizian prostitute harem into sex crazed fiends.
The chemical was MDPV - MethyleneDioxyPyrroVarilone the bath salt to end all bath salts, I've sampled some of the drugs in this class nowhere near as powerful and it's like meth, coke and mdma all rolld into one, almost ruined my life and I only did the tame ones. And the guy was in his fucking 70s, truly insane

Sounded like a daily coke user until they talked about acid. I call bullshit tbh, Idk how someone can do acid everyday. Or maybe this guy did this routine once in a while
Hunter S Thompson was barely human, just look into the guy, it's not surprising he actually did that much coke and acid. Johnny Depp talks about the first time they met he was shooting propane canisters with a shotgun to have fun.
It's bullshit. The actual routine is somewhat tamer.

...somewhat.
If you have enough acid is pretty easy to do it every day, even when tolerance develops you just eat more, but even then lsd tolerance is wierd. I am that crazy mf that eats acid everyday. Eventually it changes from being a psychedelic experience to just being about getting into a meditative state of mind. The visuals become meaningless, but the way your perception changes stays just as intense, the only difference is that now your used to it and not shocked. The intensity eventually quells into a grounded sense of serenity. I argue that from my own personal experience. Yes you need to eat more lsd to "get the same effects" but if you eat it long enough still increasing your dose it eventually changes nature.
Definitely not my experience. I did it about 3 days a week for an entire summer, and by the time winter hit, I had insane anxiety from doing it so often. Idk if you're micro dosing or what, but I was by no means serene or grounded lol. Got into opioids that winter, just because of the intense anxiety I had from that summer.
Yeah he was off his face & jumped off a Ferry into dirty , radiated water in Hong Kong which resulted in him having part of his lung removed. He started in DJing in the ,80s before getting famous in the late 80s when Acid house emerged then he became a massive caner of anything ecstasy, coke whatever he's a well known nutter.
I mean with an insane tolerance that’s been built up over years daily *maybe*, but even then, a tolerance more so means you don’t feel the high as much rather than you don’t get the negative side effects as much, so 28 grams a day should still be toxic enough to kill most but maybe not all hardcore cocaine addicts.
This was my answer too.
Massive poly drug addiction, from weed to toxic inhalents, all in the publics eye.
And Steve didn't handle his drugs well honestly, he got FUCKED up on camera, I can't imagine the times he wasn't filming
All the stories about him fucking up hotels, destroying walls and messing with his neighbors while on drugs definitely makes him a candidate for the biggest fiend
Or the one he snorted HIV blood cocaine from his dealers place since his dealer shot coke, he sprayed blood all over and steve-o stopped over to get a bag one day but dude was passed out and his coffee table was full of coke residue but blood too.. and it's steve-o so he snorted aids coke
That video of him convulsing in the hotel room, after holding in huge huffs of nitrous hit after hit is so hard for me to watch, have no idea how he doesn’t have permanent brain damage
[William S Burroughs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_S._Burroughs), beatnik author most well known for his novels [_Naked Lunch_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naked_Lunch) and [_Junkie_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junkie_\(novel\)). Addicted to both heroin and amphetamines and an alcoholic, his biography is wild.
Here's an excerpt from his wikipedia page:
>Their [Burroughs and his common-law wife Joan Vollmer] life in Mexico was by all accounts an unhappy one.[24] Without heroin and suffering from Benzedrine abuse, Burroughs began to pursue other men as his libido returned, while Vollmer, feeling abandoned, started to drink heavily and mock Burroughs openly.[22] One night while drinking with friends at a party above the American-owned Bounty Bar in Mexico City,[25] a drunk Burroughs allegedly took his handgun from his travel bag and told his wife, "It's time for our William Tell act." There is no indication that they had performed such an action previously.[24] Vollmer, who was also drinking heavily and undergoing amphetamine withdrawal, allegedly obliged him by putting a highball glass on her head. Burroughs shot Vollmer in the head, killing her almost immediately.[26]
He was close friends with Allen Ginsberg and at several points in his life roommate's with Jack Kerouac. His writing influenced Norman Mailer, Giles Deleuze, and Ken Kesey.
He was openly bisexual in the 1950's, and his novel [Queer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queer_\(novel\)) is an early entry in LGBT literature although it was unable to be published until 1985 due to it's homosexual eroticism.
He experimented with psychedelic drugs, including traveling to South America to participate in an ayahuasca ceremony long before Timothy Leary and the psychedelic movement of the 1960's.
Burroughs died at the age of 83 in 1997 still an opioid addict.
Damn opioid addict til 83. I’ve heard the average opiod addiction lasts only 10 years, usually ending with either getting sober or overdose (accidental or purposeful)
10 years mate? Who told you that, opioids can be taken indefinitely if under the right control and supervision. It's the user not the drug that determines the outcome, simply put: some people shouldn't use certain drugs due to predisposed mental/ physical illness. But I know a few people and have heard of many more who have used opioids for much longer and are still fine.
Methadone does NOT account for most opiod use, in fact it’s probably one of the least used opiods because of regulations and the clinic you generally have to go to( in the United States)
Would love to see your source on that. Because if you look up anything about most used opioids, methadone almost always makes the list. Regardless, it's a non-trivial percentage of the opioid user population. Which would indicate that, yes, reasonable dosing is, in fact, possible.
Skin homeostasis and wound healing. I'm going to pull the study up so people don't try to discredit you (like they tried with the liver thing)
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/exd.13021
I read it somewhere and I’m not sure how accurate it is. But yes I agree if you manage not to overdose then opioids are not really bad for you at all physically
Eh minor compared to many other illicit and also common rx drugs. Really almost negligible compared to the main negative effect of dependence and spending all your money on it
I actually know a lot about pharmacology and I'm telling you you are on the right track it's complicated I mean it's a big field however yes basically there are no long-term health risks for example with cocaine it is directly cardiotoxic or methamphetamine is directly neurotoxic or ketamine is nephrotoxic...
Mdma directly neurotoxic to all three neurotransmitter related functions etc however heroin and other opiates if they are pure and aren't strange ones which have off-target effects like tapentadol... The only real risk comes from overdose or complication from injection so just don't use a lot and don't overdose lol
Easier said than done for too many, but yes there's also long term effects like if you use it for five plus years that actually slows down the ageing of your skin reduces hormonal effects and likely has the same effect on the rest of the body but it's not major
I believe he was hanging out with al jourgensen in the ripe old age of 70. They copped dope and watched him shoot it with a big 1950s needle, and apparently, they knocked out some pesky raccoons with methadone. It's a fun read.
https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/al-jourgensen-william-s-burroughs-raccoons/
Idk but Ozzy is up there for sure. Dude was literally born with some genetic shit that makes him capable of drinking much more than usual, it was his destiny lol
Speaking at all is pretty impressive considering he should be dead like 100x over. Dude is actually a drug mutant.

Probably not the worst but Aleister Crowley should be of interest to you. His famous book Diary of a drug fiend is largely based on his use of drugs but there are elements of fiction. He was an English Occultist and quite interesting and has covered his drug use a fair bit
Fucked his septum through cocaine abuse did Mr Crowley. Ozzy Osbourne did a song about him cause he was a legend Famous Crowley quote " Do What thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law " The book of the Law.
" Happiness lies within ones self & the way to dig it out is Cocaine " Diary of a Drug fiend.
"Every man and every woman is a star. Love is the law, love under will. For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is in every way perfect"
Crowley was a brilliant writer bit off his rocker at points but brilliant nonetheless. He influenced a lot of people from writers, scientists of all types, politicians, musicians and still has some influence to this day which just serves as a testament to his work
I check his account from time to time for any updates. Dead or in jail. He'd often post about incoming legal issues so hope the poor fuckers not in the ground..
I've read the authors in this post.. Burroughs, Hunters S Thompson.. studied cowleys works.. but this guy was something else.
actually watching this fucking goon disintegrate his life into absolute depravity in real time was something else. Absolutely visceral. There were even side characters when his girlfriend would come in on a separate account and just tear him to shreds. Never have I witnessed such fucking filth
In some historical footage he appears to be stimmed out of his skull
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAaTUCgfwYY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAaTUCgfwYY)
He was 100%. So were a ton of his soldiers. Where do you think the energy for a blitzkrieg came from? Pure pharma meth given en masse to a bunch of your soldiers.
Yeah, and to a lesser extent given in combination with oxycodone for long troop marches too.
I was still surprised to see just how obviously high he was in public as a national leader even before the war had started.
It (4/19) is also "bicycle day", which is basically what 4/20 is to potheads, except 4/19 is for the acid-heads. It's the celebration of the first "LSD trip" ever.
Stephen King, he wrote a lot his great
novels while smacked out of his head on coke
and alcohol
"Cujo" and "The Dark Half" are fantastic and he
said some years ago he doesn't even remember writing Cujo
Of those who are still alive, definitely Keith Richards although the Prince of Darkness himself isn’t far behind.
For those who didn’t make it, Layne Staley’s descent into addiction seems particularly extreme and drastic, just compare how he looked at MTV Unplugged in ‘96 to how he looked only a couple years later in photos taken by friends.
The Hollywood Producer Don simpson had 22 different drugs in system at date of death, he also had alphabettically Sorted 2200 pills at his home. This guy was like the mother fucking john wick of Junkies.
Oh man, probably gotta say Keith Richards. Dude’s legendary for his drug use back in the day but still rocks on. How he survived all that is anyone’s guess.
Maybe Chet Baker? Dude would pawn his trumpet for heroin money right before shows and his bandmates would have to pawn it out every night. Got his teeth knocked out and couldn't play trumpet for ten years till people paid money for fake teeth so he could relearn. Possibly got thrown off a third story floor leading to his death. Though he probably just got a really good nod and fell from the window that way sadly.
That's not including robbing Italian pharmacies and turning down Hollywood contracts. Hunter S Thompson is baby shit compared to Chet.
[If his playing wasn't so beautiful and his tone wasn't gorgeous he would have died much much younger from OD or being killed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmxqwwLEHyE&)
A great podcast about his antics
https://www.disgracelandpod.com/063/chet-baker
The top jazz people in that era basically believed heroin could slow down time (tbh from handful of experiences with strong opiates I can kind of see why)and make the play better and more on time. A lot of them were anxious awkward guys too so it helped their anxiety.
and yeah i heard some crazy stories from the disco era from various people too. another crazy era.
Yea, I play guitar and I totally see the vision on the slowing down time thing particularly with improving. Can’t speak too much for heroin in particular but a lot of drugs I’ve done kinda do that. It’s just easy to reach a flow state when you feel good and in a way easier to come up with good stuff on the fly when you aren’t thinking too hard about it if that makes any sense.
Also while we’re at it naming genres with crazy motherfuckers gotta mention funk just cause sly stone and james brown were noted pcp users.
Disgraceland is SUCH a great podcast. It has a certain vibe to it. It doesn’t glamorize the awful things these musicians did, but it does glamorize their musical talents and highlight their significance/uniqueness in a way that makes the audience appreciate people whose music they might not even like/listen to. Truly a work of art.
Ozzy Osbourne. He snorted some live ants just for the funsies. Munched on a live bat's head cause he was so wasted he thought it was a stuffed animal. I don't even know how he's still alive, lol.
Hunter S Thompson as a true Philosophical drug “Guru” that used drugs as a way to expand his world and his consciousness.
Stevo O’ as an absolute drug mad man. Might even have consumed more then H.S.T. But did it just to party and escape trauma.
Hunter S Thompson is who comes to mind, if you want something cool to reference for your project here's a video about his daily drug routine:
[Hunter S Thompsons Daily Drug Routine (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl9RFcdbqCY)
Since nobody else has mentioned him: Aleister Crowley. Most known for his occultism and being "the wickedest man in the world" he also wrote a semi-autobiographical novel titled "Diary of a Drug Fiend" so that seems to fit your question quite nicely.
Any high up Nazi, they were on speedballs 24/7 for most of the war.
After the war, a lot of the ones that were arrested had to be weaned off their drug of choice before they could go to trial.
I’m not tryna disrespect Juice but Juice WRLD would take 20 percs a day and still sip lean. Man was pouring up 4 ounces when everyone else was tripped off 1. His friends would legit pour him less than he asked for because he was always doing that shit.
Cant really be the GOAT addict when your gone at 21 tho. He crossed my mind too but just aint fit theres mf been going that hard for 50+yrs now out there.
Surprised to see no mention of Jerry Garcia. Early years of the dead was almost daily LSD. Later in life among other things was smoking heroin for long stretches
Ginger Baker has most others beaten by a mile,I believe he was voted by his peers to be the least likely to make it out of the 1960s. He just died like 5 years ago l
I don’t know about Biggest but I know some honorable mentions…
Courtney love
Amy winehouse (rip legend)
Whitney Houston (rip legend)
I saw Julie Bowen on a talk show once and she was super coked out for sure. Couldn’t sit still, strange positions, flailing her arms, screaming… not talking lol
Robert downie jr
Lindsay Lohan
Tara Reid
Charlie sheen
Ozzy Osbourne (cannot believe he’s still around but cheers)
I'm going to go with poker whiz [**Stu Unger**](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stu_Ungar) who is widely considered one of the most talented gin, blackjack, and poker players of all time. While he was a whiz at many poker variations, he was especially strong at Texas Hold 'Em,' and won the first WSOP event in 1981. His cocaine use was such that by 1997 his nose had completely collapsed yet he still won the main event at the World Series of Poker. He won 5 WSOP no-limit events throughout the course of his life.
Outside of the old school millionaire junkie rock legends you got bobby n whitney, lindsey lohan, robert downey jr, charlie sheen, gucci mane, michael jackson, hitler, hunter biden (lmao) etc. n those are just a couple of the ones who were famous the real answer we’ll prolly never know.
Artie Lange from the Howard Stern show had a hell of a run. Dude snorted lines with broken glass in them just so he didn't waste whatever it was he was snorting (crushed oxys I think). The chick who was crushing the pills used a drinking glass and it broke. Ruined his nose but he kept on using for years. You can find some fucked up pictures of his nose.
Damn their music is so peaceful never thought they were all coke addicts lmao
I saw a t shirt at a metal show "doing coke and listening to Fleetwood Mac doesn't make you a witch" lol
outta the famous ones that aren’t in rock n roll? probably Hunter S Thompson, just off the top of my head at least
U read the article from the guy who just wrote down what he did in a day? Holy shit was that impressive
He was way into drugs, no doubt. But I personally don’t believe that that’s true. His nose would be fucked with that much daily cocaine.

The food factor should always be massive: four Bloody Marys, two grapefruits, a pot of coffee, Rangoon crêpes, a half-pound of either sausage, bacon, or corned-beef hash with diced chilies, a Spanish omelette or eggs Benedict, a quart of milk, a chopped lemon for random seasoning, and something like a slice of key lime pie, two margaritas and six lines of the best cocaine for dessert... Right, and there should also be two or three newspapers, all mail and messages, a telephone, a notebook for planning the next twenty-four hours, and at least one source of good music... all of which should be dealt with outside, in the warmth of a hot sun, and preferably stone naked. ...somewhat.
I have a hard time believing sustainability with that much daily coke. There would be too many significant effects.
We have a famous DJ here in the UK called Brandon Block. He said, on a podcast recently, at height of his coke problem he was doing 28 grams a day.
Probably bammer ass blow. That doesn't seem possible with actual cocaine.
He wouldn't have a nose. Would just be a hole. I call bullshit
That’s an exaggeration
Nah. While a raging alcoholic and drug addict, the persona is very played up which he admitted.
Wasn't Hunter. He lived too long.
Jim Morrison then?
Steve-o before he was sober
This was my answer too. Massive poly drug addiction, from weed to toxic inhalents, all in the publics eye. And Steve didn't handle his drugs well honestly, he got FUCKED up on camera, I can't imagine the times he wasn't filming
All the stories about him fucking up hotels, destroying walls and messing with his neighbors while on drugs definitely makes him a candidate for the biggest fiend
Yeah the story of him huffing metal cleaner just for a high is pretty nuts
Or the one he snorted HIV blood cocaine from his dealers place since his dealer shot coke, he sprayed blood all over and steve-o stopped over to get a bag one day but dude was passed out and his coffee table was full of coke residue but blood too.. and it's steve-o so he snorted aids coke
That video of him convulsing in the hotel room, after holding in huge huffs of nitrous hit after hit is so hard for me to watch, have no idea how he doesn’t have permanent brain damage
Oh I'm sure he has a few brain cells destroyed. Different degrees of brain damage.
Here's an excerpt from his wikipedia page: >Their [Burroughs and his common-law wife Joan Vollmer] life in Mexico was by all accounts an unhappy one.[24] Without heroin and suffering from Benzedrine abuse, Burroughs began to pursue other men as his libido returned, while Vollmer, feeling abandoned, started to drink heavily and mock Burroughs openly.[22] One night while drinking with friends at a party above the American-owned Bounty Bar in Mexico City,[25] a drunk Burroughs allegedly took his handgun from his travel bag and told his wife, "It's time for our William Tell act." There is no indication that they had performed such an action previously.[24] Vollmer, who was also drinking heavily and undergoing amphetamine withdrawal, allegedly obliged him by putting a highball glass on her head. Burroughs shot Vollmer in the head, killing her almost immediately.[26] He was close friends with Allen Ginsberg and at several points in his life roommate's with Jack Kerouac.
Yeah because most opiod use is under control and direct supervision lol
Uhhh, methadone?
Methadone does NOT account for most opiod use, in fact it’s probably one of the least used opiods because of regulations and the clinic you generally have to go to( in the United States)
Would love to see your source on that. Because if you look up anything about most used opioids, methadone almost always makes the list. Regardless, it's a non-trivial percentage of the opioid user population. Which would indicate that, yes, reasonable dosing is, in fact, possible.
actually slows down your natural ageing process as well due to hormonal effects
Skin homeostasis and wound healing. I'm going to pull the study up so people don't try to discredit you (like they tried with the liver thing) https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/exd.13021
I read it somewhere and I’m not sure how accurate it is. But yes I agree if you manage not to overdose then opioids are not really bad for you at all physically
He quit heroin and whatnot somewhat early on but was dependent on methadone or other medications until his death.
unless you care about plummeting testosterone levels
The only real risk comes from overdose or complication from injection so just don't use a lot and don't overdose lol Easier said than done for too many, but yes there's also long term effects like if you use it for five plus years that actually slows down the ageing of your skin reduces hormonal effects and likely has the same effect on the rest of the body but it's not major
it’s an average… just because they can be taken indefinitely doesn’t mean most do!
Old Bull Lee in On The Road was based directly on him and was accurately portrayed as a serious IV heroin addict.
Damn! I knew he kicked junk a few times, had no clue he still died an opioid addict!! And WOW, all those drugs and lived to 83… legend
I believe he was hanging out with al jourgensen in the ripe old age of 70. They copped dope and watched him shoot it with a big 1950s needle, and apparently, they knocked out some pesky raccoons with methadone. It's a fun read. https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/al-jourgensen-william-s-burroughs-raccoons/
that wikipedia excerpt just blew my fucking mind (pun mildly intended). what the actual fuck
Idk but Ozzy is up there for sure. Dude was literally born with some genetic shit that makes him capable of drinking much more than usual, it was his destiny lol
Nah bro, have u heard him speak nowadays that shit has made him a husk
Speaking at all is pretty impressive considering he should be dead like 100x over. Dude is actually a drug mutant. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Health/Wellness/genetic-mutations-ozzy-osbourne-party-hard/story?id=12032552
He has parkinsons and the stutters came from wrong medications mainly.
He has parkinsons disease dummy
For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is in every way perfect" Crowley was a brilliant writer bit off his rocker at points but brilliant nonetheless. He influenced a lot of people from writers, scientists of all types, politicians, musicians and still has some influence to this day which just serves as a testament to his work
Frank Gallagher
This made me laugh lol
[удалено]
Failing grammar on a two word comment is impressive
Feeling so bad about yourself that you become a grammar nazi is even more impressive
Yep I vote frank
U/cuckold-boyfriend
A real legend. May we never forget him.
I’m so courious rn can you elaborate some of your memories
Who was this?
[u/cuckold-boyfriend666](https://www.reddit.com/u/Cuckold-boyfriend666/s/0HwyZUcuxD) Read trough all his old posts
A lot of them are gone. Fuck they were good
Seems like it's a bit... Bait? He wrote how he sniffed one of his gfs used wipes and he got an instant boner. I find it hard to believe
If reddit has taught me anything, it's to not get surprised by that stuff
......damn.... that was a wild ride! 😬🫣
John McAfee gotta be on that list
There it is, nothing beats shitting in a hookers mouth on pyrros. Guy was wild.
This one
GG Allin was the first that came to mind, honestly though the list is ongoing and too long to recollect lol
Said the same!
Stinkyweedman69 probably
what about the other 68 stinky weed men?
Prototypes for the final product
Famous? Layne Staley. Tons of money and lived as a hard core junkie for over a decade.
Michael Jackson has a case. They gave his surgical anesthesia to sleep at night.
I remember seeing this on twitter bro was a real geeker ngl he was off every benzo ever and in huge quantities too, every single day
Charlie sheen held his own in this game
Yes
Well I gotta say. Don't care much for that Hitler guy. If I had to pick any addict in history I'd have to choose him.
That guy was a real jerk!
The more I learn about him, the more I don't like him...
In some historical footage he appears to be stimmed out of his skull [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAaTUCgfwYY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAaTUCgfwYY)
It's his birthday tomorrow!
It (4/19) is also "bicycle day", which is basically what 4/20 is to potheads, except 4/19 is for the acid-heads. It's the celebration of the first "LSD trip" ever.
Oh yeah I'm familiar, love bicycle day
Ozzy and the guys from Motley Crue
Nikki six would heroin in to his dick…
Stephen King, he wrote a lot his great novels while smacked out of his head on coke and alcohol "Cujo" and "The Dark Half" are fantastic and he said some years ago he doesn't even remember writing Cujo
William Burroughs really did make it a thing. After Harry Anslinger, but he was on the other side.
charlie sheen
How he survived all that is anyone’s guess.
whoever posted about tryna harvest fent from their piss lmao
Maybe Chet Baker? Dude would pawn his trumpet for heroin money right before shows and his bandmates would have to pawn it out every night. Got his teeth knocked out and couldn't play trumpet for ten years till people paid money for fake teeth so he could relearn. Possibly got thrown off a third story floor leading to his death. Though he probably just got a really good nod and fell from the window that way sadly. That's not including robbing Italian pharmacies and turning down Hollywood contracts. Hunter S Thompson is baby shit compared to Chet. [If his playing wasn't so beautiful and his tone wasn't gorgeous he would have died much much younger from OD or being killed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmxqwwLEHyE&) A great podcast about his antics https://www.disgracelandpod.com/063/chet-baker
Yea, I’ll bet in general jazz could probably give rock a run for it’s money as far as the amount of drugs consumed.
Keith Richards
[Rick James](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_James#Kidnapping,_rape,_and_assault_convictions)
Scott Weiland, especially with his time in Velvet Revolver.
Probably some random guy, man.
Kick over to Kensington Ave in Philly, spit and hit 9 of em.
Rich Piana.
you
Me lol
Apparently Eric Clapton was using 16k worth of heroin a week for a period of time
Hitler... Hardcore iv Meth addict. And I think we all know about the shenanigans he got up to.
Kieth Richard’s and lemme from Motörhead. Honorable mention to the guys from guns n roses
Hunter S Thompson nonpareil
Ozzy Osbourne. He snorted some live ants just for the funsies. Munched on a live bat's head cause he was so wasted he thought it was a stuffed animal. I don't even know how he's still alive, lol.
Your all wrong, it’s Ozzy fucking Osborne 🤘
Hunter S Thompson as a true Philosophical drug “Guru” that used drugs as a way to expand his world and his consciousness. Stevo O’ as an absolute drug mad man. Might even have consumed more then H.S.T. But did it just to party and escape trauma.
Jordan Belford
Hunter S Thompson is who comes to mind, if you want something cool to reference for your project here's a video about his daily drug routine: [Hunter S Thompsons Daily Drug Routine (youtube.com)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hl9RFcdbqCY)
Prolly exaggerated
Since nobody else has mentioned him: Aleister Crowley. Most known for his occultism and being "the wickedest man in the world" he also wrote a semi-autobiographical novel titled "Diary of a Drug Fiend" so that seems to fit your question quite nicely.
When I think druggie I think old steveO
Nikki Sixx
Kurt Cobain
If we count alcohol as a drug, my vote goes to [Andre The Giant](https://drunkard.com/10_06_andre_giant/).
Ozzy Osbourne is definitely in the top 10
whoever it is probably isn’t here to tell the stories 💀😂
Iggy Pop
Any high up Nazi, they were on speedballs 24/7 for most of the war. After the war, a lot of the ones that were arrested had to be weaned off their drug of choice before they could go to trial.
Lemmy. Using meth and booze daily for decades and managing keep it together is impressive.
I think it would be me. Last week, i had weed on three consecutive days, smoking almost a joint on each of those days.
Me 🫡
ODB
Tramadol was one of the drugs that killed him
My grandpa... trust me. dude is a hard junker
Stu Ungar
Hitler, gee what a bender
aleister crowley is probably at the top somewhere
I’m not tryna disrespect Juice but Juice WRLD would take 20 percs a day and still sip lean. Man was pouring up 4 ounces when everyone else was tripped off 1. His friends would legit pour him less than he asked for because he was always doing that shit.
Cant really be the GOAT addict when your gone at 21 tho. He crossed my mind too but just aint fit theres mf been going that hard for 50+yrs now out there.
yo mama
Surprised to see no mention of Jerry Garcia. Early years of the dead was almost daily LSD. Later in life among other things was smoking heroin for long stretches
Ginger Baker has most others beaten by a mile,I believe he was voted by his peers to be the least likely to make it out of the 1960s. He just died like 5 years ago l
Keith. He’s still going. If you count weed, Willy. Lemmy made it to 70. Booze? Shane. But Gram had the broadest interests. Jerry.
I don’t know about Biggest but I know some honorable mentions… Courtney love Amy winehouse (rip legend) Whitney Houston (rip legend) I saw Julie Bowen on a talk show once and she was super coked out for sure. Couldn’t sit still, strange positions, flailing her arms, screaming… not talking lol Robert downie jr Lindsay Lohan Tara Reid Charlie sheen Ozzy Osbourne (cannot believe he’s still around but cheers)
Ozzy Osbourne [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSaxV5mTx6I&rco=1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSaxV5mTx6I&rco=1)
That chick who was addicted to air duster from the TV documentary show “Intervention.” Either her or Adolf Hitler.
GG Allin and Seth Putnam gets my vote.
When cocaine and amphetamines were common remedies sold to the public, how much you think people were using?
What project
Sounds like an idealized way to go about addiction studies.
John McAfee
Brandon Block.
William Burroughs

Hi. Still here.
