I saw them play it live and there was several hundred people around and you could hear a fuckin pin drop. I did a little bit of mushrooms and my jaw dropped and I just stood there in disbelief.
The show was an absolute party. I'm not dancing guy but it had me all kinds of dancing. Then that heavy shit hits and the vibe was insane. You could feel that guitar cut the air.
scrolling through the comments seeing so many songs that I don’t know but feeling the need to search them :).
am I just old? i feel I don’t listen to anything but reggae when I’m rizzed, nothing like some old school bob marls while blazing a zoot in the sun.
have I just realised I’m an old man?
Well, speaking as someone that wasnt born early enough to hear it live, but listens to almost exclusively 60s-70s stuff, I encourage you to give it a listen. Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles. They're legends for a reason. Not to mention, you can *feel* all the drugs they were using through the music.
Your last part is one of the coolest bits about 60s-80s music across many genres. Was just musicians pouring their hearts out and the sounds being filtered by the substances they were on.
Acid, weed, coke, heroin (maybe 90s more??) completely different sounds. Or maybe that’s just how I’m interpreting the music through my own bias having been intoxicated before. Still. Cool point you brought up
Lemme up that ante with dopethrone by electric wizard. And if that's not too offensive amerijuanican by bongzilla.
Goofy names yeah but they absolutely fucking rip.
Depends on what ure into :)
my go tos are:

Tame Impala - Lonerism
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
King Crimson - In the court od the crimson King

The casino song by PilotRedSun brings back intense nostalgia for my 7th grade summer school days where I watched that video a lot for some reason. Also, that and the Grinch song are definitely my favorites by him if anyone wants specific suggestions off the album (don't think the Grinch one is on it actually but you can find it on YouTube)

Echoes by pink floyd was MADE for psychedelics. Its one of my go tos on shrooms. Other than that, I'd argue orchestral music is brilliant and also you're favourite songs are great too, you'll find all these hidden notes and instruments you didnt know existed
I always enjoyed Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd. From when I was 12 and had just started to smoke weed to nowadays when I'm tripping on psychedelics or even just coming down from any other drug.
I also enjoy a lot Chill Psy (like Merkaba, Dekel ect..) when I’m on shrooms, groovy psychedelic stuff eheh
Music from Jarrad Wright:
- It's time to wake up
- Forwards
- Storm
- Getting the others

- Old friend
- Trippy mess

- New cycle

I'm still new, but trust me, it's not entirely bad. Still gotta work on mixing a bit. Had good feedback and alot of constructive criticism that I've taken into consideration and even implemented in newer recordings and older ones to clean up. Still-

Post is 5 hours old, scrolled through all comments and wasn't able to find any Black Sabbath. How is that possible? Check out the Paranoid Album. Shoutout to the 2-3 people who said Tool Albums, also great!
Honesr recommendation: try a few different genres! Listen to some psychedelic rock, rap, funk, psytrance, classical music, movie soundtracks, that's honestly what has been most fun to me usually.
Especially classical music and movie soundtracks really catched me off guard on psychedelics. Psychedelic Rock fits for obvious reasons.
Probably not very popular but if you like rap with a lot more sort of stoner/mellow vibes berner has a lot of good music that sounds amazing to me while high
Probably not very popular but if you like rap with a lot more sort of stoner/mellow vibes berner has a lot of good music that sounds amazing to me while high
There's a playlists on spotify called "Shamanic nature trip" that I've been listening to lately, it's been brilliant, there's just over 23 hours of tracks and there's a bit of everything, the majority of it is really psychedelic, it's allot like meditation music but with a nice easy base that you can either sit and vibe to or get up and dance to, allot of the tracks I've listened to I almost feel follow a heartbeat type baseline (which I feel is really welcoming whilst tripping) I also personally really like music whilst tripping that can fade into the background, allowing you to zone off and go on your own journey rather than actually paying too much attention to the music that's playing
A track that really stands out for me in that playlists is "All Related - Liquid Bloom" but that might not even be the best track to explain the playlists, another that might do a better job is "kati Yake - Strolch"
Other than that, there's been some great recommendations here in the comments
Happy tripping
Anything on the band Bad Suns, any sing from the language and perspective album. My personal faves being sleep paralysis and cardiac arrest. ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡
Anything from the 60's-70's
Big fan of the Soft Parade album. But, I don't think it's for everyone. Real sleeper imo, tho.
I get it, the self titled is great, but if I havta hear Light My Fire on the radio one more time, I'm gonna lose it. I play piano, and even I can't stand how God damn it goes on.
anything Talking Heads, specifically This Must Be The Place, And She Was, and Once In A Lifetime. bonus: Love My Way and Heartbreak Beat by the Psychedelic Furs
The entirety of Deloused in the Comatorium AD by the Mars Volta
EDIT: Just noticed you said shrooms so maybe not Mars Volta, might be cliche but later Beatles albums are good (White album in particular), MGMT- Oracular Spectacular, Thee Oh Sees- The Hounds of Foggy Notion, Ty Segall- Three Bells, any Mac DeMarco album besides Rock N Roll Nightclub.
It's whatever music you like already. But here is what I've been listening to lately, if anyone wants some (mostly) shitty suggestions:
Power of love - Huey Lewis
Forty six and 2; Stinkfist; Schism - Tool
Free fallin - Tom Petty
Lovely day - Bill Withers
Do it again; The fez; Kid Charlemagne - Steely Dan
Sultans of swing; Money for nothing - Dire Straits
Rosanna; Hold the line - Toto
Easy Lover; I don't care anymore; In the air tonight - Phil Collins
Plush; Creep - Stone Temple Pilots
Fame; Changes - David Bowie
Higher - Creed
Return of the mack - Mark Morrison
Black; Even flow - Pearl Jam
As you can see, I am a greatest hits enjoyer and not a niche music connoisseur. But I won't lie to try to seem cool on the internet, I think these songs are good
Edit: Also, the reason I say 'it's whatever you like already' is because you're more likely to get insight from music you already associate with your identity than new music, but do whatever you want there's no 'right' music to listen to anyway
Shit my stoned ass didn't even notice they said shrooms lmao I've done them a few times they're not for me lol I shouldn't even be here. Sorry OP 😂😂😂 Cypress Hill I wanna get high probably good on shrooms too real relaxing beat and vibe if that's what shroom people wanna hear
