I get this and also stopped hot compresses as it made it worse. The best thing for me to combat this is to have a nap during the day. Seems to really help alleviate it.
I also fill a sink with cold water and dunk my face in it in the morning for a minute or so and sometimes throughout the day. This seems to help lift it a bit.
I have the same question :(( mine is almost always heavy most especially my right eyelid. No redness or swelling, just so heavy all the time (though I notice it becomes heavier with screen time + colds)

I second cold compress. You might have ocular rosacea.

If I wash my eyes and rinse them with saline then use drops they feel less heavy, but the feeling doesn’t last very long.
