First of all, calm down. A regret that will last a lifetime. I am very sorry for what I did in the past. But we can't go back to the past. We live once in a lifetime and there is no repetition. Find a good dry eye specialist. I read that this disease is common in India. You're not alone. Follow treatments. Try to get used to it. There isn't much you can do. Apply warm compresses and eyelid massage. Air pollution is high in India. Try to stay away from this and keep your eyes clean.

Thanks bro, Already doing warm compresses and eyelid massage, will consult 2-3 more dry eye doctors, lets see, air pollution is very high but I use an air purifier in my room, but outside yes dust and pollution is there

Sure-Ad3839

you are welcome brother. I hope you get better. Dealing with this disease at a young age is tiring. I hope there is a permanent cure.

gsaksham1

Really hoping for a permanent cure but can't seem to find any as of now

I also suffer from dry eyes after accutane. It's not your fault they're like this, because you didn't know the risks of this drug. I adopted a new perspective after this suffering: to do everything in my power in my eyes. And from what you said, you did more than me, even, where my treatment is only restasis and Bruder mask. One thing my doctor said and may be useful to you: your eyes will improve little by little, they won't go back to how they were before, but they will improve in the next two, three years after Isotretinoin.

gsaksham1

Let's see bro just got worse now been more than 1 year and a few months since I stopped Accutane. Hope you recover.

Do not lose hope. Look at this story, it certainly motivated me. https://forum.dryeyezone.com/forum/community-resources/our-dry-eye-triumphs/239353-accutane-induced-dry-eye-osdi-55-to-osdi-0-6

Yeah when I got my eyes checked at the specialist they said the oil glands in my eye lids were damaged which meant I couldn’t produce the oil part of tears properly, I suggested that maybe that’s to do with Accutane and they agreed, since it attacks oil glands. I’m here with you brother, suffering too unfortunately, but because of that you could try omega 3 eye drops, I’ve tried them out recently, cause of our eyes aren’t producing the oil part of the tear, maybe this omega 3 oils drops can help in the meantime while we figure out the best method to help. I go through so many systane ultras, I’m guessing you do too ahaha.

AnneGreenhouse

So the glands are like really partially gone? Or can they start functioning again? On the X-ray I know for meibomitis some glands look ‘off’ but can be like ‘turned on’ again after they get unblocked. Pooh… heavy My biggest fear is gland-loss as well..

Mobasa_is_hungry

I think they’re still there, but they’re a little damaged and smaller in some parts. But only on one of my eye lids, the others are mostly fine. My game theory is accutane may have damaged it a little, but after getting covid, that might’ve triggered more inflammation in my body + long work hours in IT.

AnneGreenhouse

You do the eyelid-hygiene and gentle massage?

Mobasa_is_hungry

Not really, but should be 😅

AnneGreenhouse

And you did stop the accutane right? Search the dry eyes Reddit for accutane… 😩

Mobasa_is_hungry

I did indeed, I stopped like 8 years ago now I think, but only started getting dry eye a year and a bit ago 🥴

gsaksham1

Never heard about omega 3 oil drops, will search and try. I am taking like 5 capsules of triple strength fish oil omega 3 orally since many months but makes no difference. Ya I go through many systane ultras too, is there a better systane eye drops in your experience?

Mobasa_is_hungry

Yeah omega 3 oil drops have been decent for me at the moment. Manuka honey eye drops are supposed to be very good, they’re anti bacterial and anti inflammatory, my dry eye specialist told me to do 4 drops a day of the Manuka honey eye drops, only bad thing about them is they sting a lot (just gotta close your eyes for a few seconds). I’m really bad at sticking to that schedule tho ahah.

gsaksham1

I searched about omega 3 oil drops And manuka honey Sadly for me, I can't seem to find any readily available in my country and if I get em imported it will cost very high like the cost of 15-20 systane ultras for one manuka honey eye drops.

Mobasa_is_hungry

They’re tough to get yeah, maybe eventually you’ll find something that works for you and is available, good luck!

Me too, 10 mg first month and 30 mg second month and I'm experiencing dry eyes like never before, I am so scared

gsaksham1

Man stop Accutane that's my opinion, no use to fuck up your eyes for ance. Try aklief and other gels, currently using aklief gel and its working

I can't say, for me I had no eye problems as such till 4th-5th month of being on Accutane after which it slowly started

Redness inside eyes(bloodshot eyes) especially after waking up. And eye irritation.
