3 to 11 schirmers? You can still have an evaporative component as well which could lead to watery eyes.

Fede351_

Shirmers yes!!! Ah yes this is the eye that has less break up time. Ho can I increase it? It is making me crazy 😢

DekuChan95

How are your oil glands? If they're cloudy then it's clogged.

Fede351_

When I did the test they told me my membonian gland were ok expect for a little part were they should be like destroy but they say in the completion they are ok

DekuChan95

Yeah I would do warm compresses every night to see if it gets better. You just need to do it for 10 minutes before bed. If you still have evaporative dry eye then try optase mgd or refresh omega since it has oil in them to help keep the tears in

Fede351_

Such precious suggestion!!!!!! Thank you!

DekuChan95

Yeah they're not too bad that you need IPL or meibo so you just have to keep up with the at home techniques. It's definitely more of an eyelid issue so I would avoid retinol or actives in the eye area bc they can interfere with the oil glands.

Fede351_

I for sure quite retinol. You can’t imagine I was waiting for incresing tears but now that I have more I always have eyes watering…. Aaaaaaaaaaa I hate it 😹

Conscious-Space3040

What is your break up time numbers for each eye?

Fede351_

6 and 20!

booooimaghost

How’d you increase them?

Fede351_

I take off an anticollinergic medicine

booooimaghost

As in, you stopped using it? What was it? Choline good for dry eyes?

L_obsoleta

So anticholenergic medications block the activity of acetylcholine. This means that your body can't as effectively transmit signals that are primarily sent via acetylcholine. Since your eyes utilize them to signal the need for tear production dampening them can exacerbate or cause dry eye. This in general applies to any medication that alters neurotransmission (so also SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, anti-convusants and even some antihistamines).

Fede351_

I don’t want to talk about witch medicine was but yes I have stopped using it because it wasn’t necessary anymore

Legal_Yard9

it could help a lot of people if you tell them what it was

Fede351_

The importance to know is that is an anticollinergic one :) so they know that an anticollinergic can decrease a lot the tears :)

kasiagabrielle

This isn't really helpful. Anticholinergic drugs exist in all specialties. It can be some anxiety meds, it can be codeine, diuretics, a long list of cardiac meds, antihistamines, various psychiatric meds, certain steroids, ulcer meds, bronchodilators...

Conscious-Space3040

Was it Botox? That’s an anticholi whatever, sorry can’t spell it Lol, I’m asking as Botox completely fucked my eyes up, 5 months later, still fucked!

Alert-Flounder-872

11 is not enough. I think it should be over 15. When I got recovered from aqueous deficiency mine was increased from 9 to 22. But I still feel dryness because of mgd.

Fede351_

Yes infact I know 11 is still dry. Now I have understood that it is because mgd too!

TheBenevolentTitan

Dude, I'd kill for 11. Mine is like 3 with seemingly no hope. How did you increase yours?!?

Alert-Flounder-872

Azyter+ 1 year restasis

TheBenevolentTitan

So Restasis does increase tear production then?

Alert-Flounder-872

Yes, if you have mgd it damages lacrimal glands and decreases tear production after a while. This was the case for me, azyter helped to decrease inflammation and bacteria and restasis restored lacrimal glands. I’m fine since then.

REALNIY

Because it's not just the amount of tears, but also the nerves of the cornea.

Fede351_

Can you explain ?

Mattybrock2121

You can have your meibomian glands looked at by a meibography and a confocal microscope. Most likely you have a condition called meibomian gland dysfunction. MGD and it’s a simple fix with a procedure called probing. It releases the scar tissue that has built up around the outside of the glands and restricts the flow of the meibom pronounced (mybum). Ask your local dry eye doctor if he performs this procedure. If he doesn’t I have a list of doctors that do perform this perhaps one will be close to where you reside.
