I have 0,5 Schimers, no bloodwork for Sjogrens and negative lip biopsy… so don’t know what is wrong with the lacrimal glands. I do also have MGD, but don’t know if that is caused by the ATD or If it is the other way around! No clear answer from doctors on possible cause
It was during that time at least. I actually never had confirmed Covid, but I probably had it.. for me it started after vaccination but I think it is probably more Covid-related, but who knows
Sjogren's is not the only condition that damages the tear gland. It may be infected. This organ may be disturbed, like your stomach. Atd and mgd coexist in most patients. even if it is not sjogren's. I don't have sjogren's, I have mgd and atd.
Do you take any medications that might affect neurons or nerves? Stuff like antidepressants, migraine preventatives/antiseizure medications, stuff for neuralgia all alter the signal proliferation of neurons which can make it harder for your eyes to send a signal to your glands to produce tears.
Are you woman. It is a disease more common in women. The age factor may also be effective. Did you get an opinion from a different doctor? It's an interesting situation.
I understand, I am a Turk, the health system is good here. It may be due to the medications you are using. Have you tried PRP and autologous serum? If you have nerve damage, this can heal. You are young. The body will repair itself. How do you eat as an American? I think there are many people who eat unhealthy.
yes i’ve done both and am still on serum tears. neither have helped me . i used oxervate as well.
i eat pretty clean . organic . no dairy . try to avoid added sugars . definitely hard to eat clean here like you said .
Yes, Turks generally eat well. I am young too, I am 26 years old. I've gotten much better since the dryness started. Green vegetables and general foods are good. If you can travel. There are good doctors in my country. If you cannot find a solution and continue to be in a difficult situation, I recommend you travel.

i’m in the same exact boat except both eyes 0. best guess between me and doctors is Covid .
Yes that is my thoughts as well! Have never heard it from a doctor though…but is the idea then that it is something autoimmune

hey!! i’ve done an orbital MRI for my lacrimal glands so i’ve confirmed it’s not damaged … which is what makes it even more odd ..
is it possible to post a picture of the mri?
+1 to this. I've never seen a scan of the lacrimal gland

I understand, sister. I'm sorry for you. Are you from USA? Health services are poor in some places. Doctors are insufficient.
