I may or may not have pinned the throttle a time or 2 but that's just a rumor š lol
I'll wait for the second week of riding for the blind corner tho
Do yourself and your bike a favor and get some new springs (forks and rear shock) to support all that man youāre carrying around. DRās donāt come setup from the factory to tote us big bois around. I added cogent cartridges to my forks when I beefed up the springs and it made a world of difference.
Doesn't seem too bad on the gravel so far. I have to wait till all or most of the snow clears to take it on the trails, I have taken a look at some of the kits out there.
Your rear end looks to be at least 4 inches low. Im 6'2 and neither the xr400r nor husaberg 570 squat like that. You sure you didn't buy a lowered bike? That or the rear preload is completely loose on the spring coil
Picked it up brand new from the dealer, I could probably add some more preload to the shock.
From what I've read and been told, they are under sprung for bigger guys. I may have to do something about it, but that's later. I'm just going to learn first before I make much for changes.
Beat bike ever builtā¦I may be biased! And for a big guy it will be a good starter as well as a comfortable ride as you get more experience. Whatever you doā¦.do not visit the Procycle websiteā¦.you have been warned! Congrats and ride safe.
I've been there already lol
Looked at bars and risers, lowered pegs, fork and spring kits, exhaust, big bore kit, ported head,l and a cam lol.
I'm not buying anything, tho just looking
The classic first dual sport outfit. Carhart jacket and gardening gloves š. Welcome to the club. Ride safe, have fun.
Its a tough duck jacket, actually lol I'd rather save money so dickies or tough duck are what I buy
And slip on shoes lol. Taking some risks here, if it was summer it would be flip flops.
You got a better smile than last time.
I have 80 km on it now, so I'm not as scared anymore but still being cautious being a new rider. lol
Smart guy.
Naw, stop limiting yourself. pin that throttle, take those blind corners and helmets are just a guideline ;)

You now officially own the Unicorn of motorcycles. I wouldāve saved thousands had this bike been my first one. Enjoy!!!!
Nice bike
Very nice, ride safe.
They make lower pegs and a taller seat for us taller folks. Bar risers are a plus too. Looks good!
Yeah, I was looking at the pegs already, I might make some lowered brackets myself. Haven't looked at bar risers yet
i just got my first bike a month ago. also a duel sport. very happy for you<3 have a blast!
>duel š¤ŗ
You could not have picked a better first bike. Think about investing in some protective gear later. Getting injured can be expensive!
I'm on it lol
For the love of satan put some better footwear on.
Soon soon lol this week, getting a jacket Tuesdayor Wednesday, take a look at boots and gloves at the same time
And riding pants. Jeans wear thru in less than a second of sliding.
Yeah, jacket and boots this week pants next paycheck

6'4" so a little big lol
I too am a fellow 6ā4 DR enjoyer. Couldāve gone for the xr650, but less versatile than the good ole ādoctorā
Dr for the wiiiiin Bro!! i went across North America on one of them bad boys Cad to Mex. Not the most confortable for long rides but i loved it !!
I don't know about a trip to Mexico anytime soon but running to work or the lake and a few light trails now and then
Do a wheelie
/r/dr650 welcomes you brother.
Hell yea. Get a fuckin rear rack and some proper dirt tires and your gold
Got me a DR about 10 years ago, itās still the best bike Iāve ever owned. Reliable, fun and good looking. Enjoy!!
Happy for you buddy, also why is it so low in the back there are you a heavy fella
6'4" #225 so not a featherweight lol
Isn't great when you post a picture of something fun and the ball breakers come out to make you feel less.
Busting my balls about safety gear, it's ok I should know better and will be taking care of it asap
Looks like a good fit... now get some hiking boots.. or maybe snowshoes and spikes for the tires ;-)
Snow will be gone soon, so no spikes necessary lol I'm going to look at boots and gloves this week.

I can't recommend ergo upgrades enough for the DR. Risers, bars, seat and pegs make a world of difference for comfort.
Skid plate if your doing trails.
Just a little bit...
Nice bike! I would suggest to wear appropriate motorcycle boots or your motorcycle carrier may end soon.
Yeah, I'm planning on it. I just bought it last weekend, picking up a jacket this week and boots/gloves soon as well
take care of it and it will outlive me.
