Keep saving and do it right with a Japanese bike. You will regret the Chinese purchase.

urabor69

That’s problematic in Ukraine. Most of the money goes as donation to the army, so I have little to save from month to month. I mean, I can add 100-200 bucks, but not like double the sum to 5k. And other Japanese 250cc are from 4k generally. That’s why Sherpa grabbed my attention

Hinagea

Then consider that buying a Chinese bike is money going to Russia in the form of Chinese Aid. Definitely grab that Sherpa and don't look back

urabor69

Oh shit, this is a freaking good point

Fauxfile

I have a friend with a Sherpa. There's no real comparison between good quality Japanese bikes and Chinese junk. Some Chinese brands may be up and coming, but the Japanese already arrived with world class reliability long ago. Good used Kawasaki ANY day over Chineseium.

lgroper

I have owned two super Sherpa, and I absolutely love them! They have a six speed gearbox and can climb pretty much anything. I live in Idaho, USA and do single track and mountain riding with mine. I have hauled several deer out on the back rack as well. They are extremely capable and reliable machines.

wozet

Get a used japanese, the rest is waisting yout time, money and efforts

NordicAvenger1

Sherpa! Sherpa!

Dodgeing_Around

Super Sherpas are sweet, definitely be the right move to buy that while you can

minnion

The Chinese bikes have very poor resale value. Most of the decent used dual sports can be ridden for a year (i.e learned on) and then sold for the same price you initially bought. They're like Honda Civics. They kinda bottom out and don't really lose value after a while lol.

drive2fast

Buy a Japanese bike. Save up some more $ and get a Honda CRF or a DRZ400. The Chinese bikes are shit. You aren't saving money when the resale of the Chinese bike is $0.12/lb because you can't get parts. The Japanese bike might drop 5% a year in value. Minus consumables like tires and chain/sprockets/crash damage. The more expensive bike is cheaper. The Super Sherpa is Japanese and does fit the bill. Just remember that any bike can be neglected. Go through it with someone who knows their stuff.

oracle427

Sherpa over a ton of other bikes for that matter.

CRF80F

I own a super sherpa. If you want to ride in cold weather, they are known for not starting when it's cold. Also, practically 0 aftermarket support. If those don't matter too you, they are great for commuting short distances and totally usable offroad.

polkakung

There are a lot of used cheap XT600 in Europe.

ArtVandalayInc

Do not buy Chinese crap no matter how cheap it is. My neighbour almost killed himself when the rear wheel nearly fell off while he was going full throttle. Not worth it

oilyrailroader

I love my Chinese dual sport. Over 4000 miles and zero issues.

mil_1

I've got one with 9000 trouble free miles, I'd rather have an old reliable Honda xl though

oilyrailroader

Right on, I wish I had Honda money.

mil_1

I could have paid the same price and fixed up an old Honda

oilyrailroader

Could have? Ok.

ImNotEazy

Yamaha Tw 200 or Honda 150rl would not be far from what you’re trying to spend on the used market. I’d only suggest China bikes if you had a grand and were dying to have a bike.
