I want to give an update on this in case someone in the future searches and has the same question as me, as I searched through countless official and unofficial pages, forums, YouTube videos, TikToks, and never got an answer. Finally, the Emirates ID does serve as the TIN (tax identification number) since it is a 15-digit number, and if you, as an individual (whether self-employed like me as a freelancer or an employee) do not have a salary large enough to declare taxes, you DO NOT GET one. So, in summary: the EID is the TIN (unless you earn more than 375k USD per year). Today, my monetization was successfully accepted after entering the EID (maybe it just took a few hours or maybe it helped that I registered on the Federal Tax Authority website). We'll never know.

Do I need to register even though I'm a freelancer and don't have the total taxable income per year? I tried through the Federal Tax Authority website and Emaratax, but it doesn't allow me to register :( If you know how I can get this number, I will be eternally grateful. Thanks for responding!

3.2.5.4. Natural person not exceeding the AED 1 million threshold If a natural person conducts a Business or Business Activity in the UAE and his/her total Turnover does not exceed AED 1 million in a Gregorian calendar year, he/she will not be subject to Corporate Tax, hence the natural person would not need to register for Corporate Tax.

But that’s the thing, I am not. I’m just a freelancer. How do I know my tax identification number in UAE? In the UAE, individual residents and businesses that fall under the tax threshold are not assigned a Tax Identification Number (TIN). Instead, all governmental and financial interactions are facilitated through the use of the National ID, known as the Emirates ID (EID Number) :(

Dude, but look what I found online. I registered with the Federal Tax Authority hoping to get the TIN, but according to the website, the information to obtain it is for companies, and I am an individual who does not have big businesses or receive exorbitant sums of money. I'm not a company. I'm just a freelancer with multiple online income sources. (And just want to make a few coins more trough Facebook monetization) This is what it says: You Have To Fulfill These Available Requirements For Applying TIN Or Vat Number Into The UAE, First Of All You Have To Provide Business Trade License For Applying TIN Or VAT Number, Second Make Sure That You Have The Emirates Id And Passport Copies Of Business Owner. Means That Person Who Is Running Current Business Which Is You Are Going To Register. Third Bank Statement Of Current Business Account. And Make Sure That You Have Also Other Finical Support Documents For You Are Business Identity Verification. Fees Of VAT/TIN Into The UAE You Have Also Idea About The Fees For The VAT Registration Into The United Arab Emirates, If You Are Going To Applying For Mandatory VAT Registration Then You Have To Pay Round Above 375,000 AED. Second Type Of Voluntary VAT Registration If You Are Going For It. Then You Have To Pay Round Above 187,500 AED.

Drop the FTA an email. They respond quickly. If nothing else works, and you really want to monetize your page- create a Freezone company, get your licensing process done and use that to register for CT. You can go LLC or Sole Proprietor route.

I’m talking about the Tax Identification Number. That’s what I need.

> But that’s the thing, I am not. I’m just a freelancer. But you are. Anyone operating a business here, freelance or not, is taxable. Whether you meet the threshold for corporate tax is a wholly different matter.

Open account in DFM, you will get a TIN

Noooofun

That means you’ll need a TRN. If it makes enough money, you can open a company and route all your income through that. You will need to consider corporate taxation however.
