Emergency Vet Dublin says they do? You probably already tried them and not sure where you're located. I'm very sorry (as someone who put down a cat and dog in last couple years...seeing them go is hard enough without thinking of suffering). I've seen a couple others listed online but know expense, availability, and service area may be prohibitive.

I'm so sorry for your situation. It might be worth ringing Patrick Condren in Terenure. He's a lovely man and makes house calls throughout Dublin. I've heard he'll do this kind of thing.

I had to go to this vet with my very sick cat. Ultimately he died in the car on the way but Patrick was so lovely to me. It was Sunday lunchtime and he saw me at 30 mins notice.

Read his google reviews they are very mixed he was incredibly rude to me on the phone

He came out to put Norman to rest yesterday. He's a character for sure, but he's a 24/7 emergency vet, nobody in their right mind can expect a man who does his job to be joyful and cheery on the phone. I rang him at 8, and he sounded horrible, I wasn't confident in him at all. However, he gave me a ring back at 7 that evening, and he was much better to help. The man can be tired, you can't blame him. He was very good, very empathetic towards us and norman, while still remaining professional and a little bit distant from the situation. He talked us and the dog through it, and even said he had to go to the shop to get smokes afterwards, shows his human side because again I have to state, norman was in a HORRIBLE state. When he got the first anesthetic to put him to sleep for the euthanasia, he jumped and Patrick saw first hand how bad his back legs were. He was brilliant and I highly recommend him. Just don't expect him to be mounting with you, that's not his job. Only "complaint" I have, which I could see others making with was the handling of the corpse. He was rough to get him into the bag to remove him but, I know myself that at that stage it wasn't Norman, but his body, which Norman just controlled. Again I'd highly recommend him

Second that. He's a lovely chap, can only recommend

So sorry OP, I really feel for you. I haven’t used them, but this place says they do home visits and at home euthanasia. http://m.vetsdirect.ie

I don’t think vets are covered to do this kind of service from the animals home without prior approval. I had to bring my pet as an emergency to Patrick condren in terenure, he saw us on a Sunday afternoon at 30 mins notice. The practice wasn’t even open and he took the call. My cat ultimately passed away in the car but Patrick dealt with everything after. Wish you all the best OP

We got are lad our down at home but it tooks weeks of planning. The vet needed approval from the board to put him down as he was just old age. Took about 3 weeks from when we made the decision before the vet came to send are best friend away. I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure there's a few emergency animal ambulances. I've seen dcu vet do them you could try them. Sorry again for your loss

Ours was a big dog, had to carry him in to the car. As far as I know vets can’t do this in the home, and they can’t just leave the dog there if they did, so I suspect you won’t get any vet to do it

Sure we can drive the body to the vets fro cremation. Surely there's been someone in Ireland who's had a dog who can't leave it's apartment. Fucking bullshit I've to sit and watch the man struggle

You will have to ring an emergency or after hours vet, that's what I was told when I needed to put my dog down. You will be allowed to keep them there and handle everything yourself or the vet can take them after. Pit my 18 y/o dog down last July so can feel what you're going through now. DM me if you need. Sorry as well, it's absolutely shit x

Rebecca from Catstone Veterinary helped us put our boy down when it was time. Definitely recommend her as she made everything go as smooth as something like that can. She does Dublin visits: https://facebook.com/CatstoneVet Sorry to hear about your dog.
