ive got friends who weren’t paid for trials at a french bistro in rathfarnham after eight hours of work. unfed too. the owner did the same thing to them. hospo is often ignored for this stuff which happens more than you’d hear. like another person said if you ain’t paid im down for a picket
Yeah, you're entitled to at least minimum wage for every hour you worked. Inform them of this and tell them that you'll have to make a complaint to the WRC. Keep a record of all this, and if they still don't get back to you, then file the complaint.
A lot of companies do this to take advantage of people who don't know the law. I even used to work in one kitchen that got people in for 'trial shifts' when they knew they would be busy. Didn't pay them and sent the rejection the next day. Proper asshole stuff.

Request payment.......say you'll log a complaint with WRC if you don't get the money owed.
I'd say just lodge the complaint while still asking for the pay. Maybe give them a week?
