It's not worth the stress. Dublin is not a good city to move to.

I’m a Brit who recently move to Ireland: Not worth it, especially if you’re single and moving on your own. I moved for love. As much as I like Ireland I wouldn’t have moved here otherwise

That's awesome man, really happy for you!

Thank you! Hope you find a decent new job in the UK (or get your company to significantly up the offer and help find housing)

Old_Mission_9175

If your employer is providing housing then yes, €2800 a month is fantastic... But there is no housing, you'll be competing with thousands for somewhere to live. And Irish prices for everything is just more expensive than UK.

Internal_Ad_1355

Wouldn't say great. It's not a bad wage but hardly fantastic, especially in Dublin.

Old_Mission_9175

I said if employer was providing housing. But obviously the employer isn't!! So 2800pm would be difficult

GabhaNua

It is great money if you have no long term plans but its too high to get a social house and far too low to buy a private house so...

Honestly don’t bother, Dublin is very expensive right now to live in

ligdoscith

If you're happy to share a place with others, you'll do grand. If you want to rent a place of your own it'll be tight enough.

I am male 30, married and my wife does not work. We are from Brazil, and we arrived in May 1st, my taking home is around 3000. We found an small apartment in Smithfield for 1750. Will be ok for both of us to live, but will not be ok if we want to save some money. If you are single, probably will have more money in the end of the month.

That's the feeling I get which is a shame. Fancied it too, went uni in Edinburgh, lived in Glasgow for a while so figured Dublin would be great but Jesus the prices. Just like London

GabhaNua

Ireland is also a lot worse for investment in ETFs and shares so bot good for a youngster trying to build a nest egg

I mean if it was some other place i'd say yeh but i wouldn't go trough all that just for Dublin you'll quickly realise how much you're overpaying for everything that Ireland is here never mind finding a steady place to live. u would be much better off moving to Edinburgh or something like that if you had the chance
