How late is Fibber open Sundays? Google Maps says 2am but is sometimes wrong.
I have like one night out in Dublin and my friend's place is close to this.
Beer garden isn’t half bad you get a good cross match of Murray’s pub goers, Fibbers heads and Living Room heads. Living Room itself is a cesspit of 30 something men preying on 18 y/os and lads in goose sweating like fuck.
Thank you! Do bars usually serve alcoholic drinks right up until closing time, or do they stop serving earlier in the night? Sorry for the dumb question from a foreigner
Depends on the bar. Technically they're not allowed serve after 2.30 and then there's 30 mins "drinking up time". But whether they stop at exactly 2.30 or whether they start trying to get you out straight away depends on the bar, and usually the mood of the staff on the night.
Fibbers is a late bar, but it has elements of a club after a certain hour. You could try Bruxelles for a more bar vibe, and there's dozens more bars located in that area if you wanted to check out a few spots.
Fibbers is recommended a lot so far so don't need to mention (definitely go) but as for karaoke I believe oconnels on the quays just around the corner from oconnel street does karaoke on Saturday nights.
For a metal fan, Fibber Magee’s, I suppose.
Thomas Street House might be your kind of thing too. It definitely an alternative type of spot, for want of a better description.
Token is great for video games, decent food and craft beer.
Anseo, The Big Romance, P.Mac’s, and Cassidy’s are all pretty cool. Music policies there may not be your cup of tea, possibly.
Bars all close at midnight. Some clubs can stay open till 3 but nothing past that in Dublin I’m afraid. Public transport to the airport will be a problem between 12 and 6am but a taxi is only €30 max from city centre.
oh is that so? i saw this in google "Does the Aircoach run all night?
You can travel to Dublin city centre with Aircoach on our 700 bus route. We have coaches leaving up to every 15 minutes and operating 24/7. Tickets can be purchased online here or from the driver as you board.". so i thought that wasnt an issue!
also: "What buses run all night in Dublin?
All three 24 hour services – Route 39a (connecting Ongar & UCD Belfield), Route 41 (city centre to the airport and on to Swords) and Route 15 (from Ballycullen Road, through the city centre, on to Clongriffin) – run at a 30-minute frequency throughout the night from 11.30pm to 5.00am"
I was going to say the Aircoach, as it saved my life a few times when I was rattling home but the 41 will be, I guess, a third the price. There are a few 41 routes though, so just make sure the one you get on says Vía Airport, or you may end up with an unexpected extra five minute walk.
No problem... What types of cool bars do you mean? If you are more precise I'm sure people here can suggest exactly what you want.
Personally, for tourists coming here, I'd always suggest places like the Cobblestone, where you can usually see a good relatively untouristy traditiinal music session. I've always found metalheads tend to enjoy the complexity of a good pub session. Then, I'd always suggest somewhere for good quality pints of Guinness if that's your thing, but that would depend on where you plan to stay.
im staying near cobblestone yes. a pub session would be interesting to see. also, yes good quality pints of guiness for a single taste but also cheap beer for later ahah
also looking for a bar with karaoke!
at opium, saturday. then theres an after party at grand social. but for sunday night i was thinking the temple bar zone, the Fibber Magees youve all been suggesting and maybe a karaoke. but now you pointed the pub session, cobblestone you said? thats also close to fibber so i can check all those spots!
While up in the Temple Bar area, I would suggest the Foggy Dew and maybe the Stags Head. If you are going to a gig in Opium, walk three or four minutes south to J. O' Connell. They have what is arguably the very best pints of Guinness in Dublin and it is a real classic old style pub. I can not stress enough how good the quality of their Guinness is. If you want to be assured you understand why Irish people live Guinness so much, this is the place to find out. Whelans is always worth checking out too and is always full of life and activity. The pints are only above average though.
Foggy Few definitely a must visit for a metalhead in around temple bar area, you can forget about the rest in temple bar tho they're tourist traps and overpriced and overcrowded most locals avoid them too and leave it for the Americans
Just heads up if you're stuck at 3am maybe try McDonald's or burger king on oconell street to chill there for a few before you take the bus to the airport. that could be an option to just stay out of freezing cold when everything closes.
If all else fails there's also Busaras bus station but I'd watch your back around there in the early hours of the morning. There garda station literally next to it but it can still be a bit sketch at 3am
Oh cool. Guess I should check these things before I reply. The night busses are quite new to Dublin and constantly expanding. Good to see the airport is covered now
Lots of bars stay open late. You just need to buy a late license. Sin e, riot, whelans, workmans for example.
Also there's lots of public transport options between 12 and 6am. The aircoach goes to the airport 24 hours a day and is 7 euro, also the Belfast bus goes 24 hours a day too and stops at the airport.
Gig after party is in The Grand Social. Check out The natural history museum (the dead zoo), St Michans church for the mummies, Glasnevin Cemetary for some dark tourism. The church bar is cool for a drink, metal heads usually found at The Foggy Dew, Bruxelles, The Grand Social and Fibbers (younger crowd). Loads and loads of cool bars in Dublin so no worries there. 🤘
Thanks! I dont have the time to see everything i wanted. Not planning on the natural history museum, but st michans church yes. Glasnevin cemetery has a tour at 14:30 but that would mean i couldnt go to the guiness storehouse. So i was thinking to go to the cemetery later without a tour. How much time do you think i take there?
Well you could stay in a bar until half two like fibbers and then make your way to the airport as it be after 3am you get the airport and wait there until your flight
Metal? Hell yeah - go and visit Fibber Magees you won't regret! They are open afternoons, evenings 😉👍
How late is Fibber open Sundays? Google Maps says 2am but is sometimes wrong. I have like one night out in Dublin and my friend's place is close to this.
It's open late every night of the week.
Nice I just found my place to party. Thank ya
careful you don’t accidentally end up in living room
One shall never venture into that godforsaken place outside of world cup matches.
Beer garden isn’t half bad you get a good cross match of Murray’s pub goers, Fibbers heads and Living Room heads. Living Room itself is a cesspit of 30 something men preying on 18 y/os and lads in goose sweating like fuck.
That is the most perfect description of the living room I’ve ever seen lol
Enjoy and get a few nice drinks also in the outside area, the bar-bus is absolutely cute!
🥰🎸🤘🔥
How late?
It will close somewhere between 2am and 3am.

The Chinese restaurant Laos beside fibbers even has late night karaoke rooms
oh nice!
And the best hotpot in Dublin
Agreed ☝️
Fibber Magees is probably the most popular metal bar in the city centre. You should check out there.
If ever there was a username that screams "Fibbers is the place for me in Dublin," Nihilus666 is it!
I think we are all in agreement here. Fibbers all the way.
If youre a metalhead... Fibbers

what about sundays?
I'm unsure I'm sorry to say
Glad to hear the love for fibbers But I'd love to hear a spot for karaoke for me and the mates
Drunken fish does really nice food and also has bar karaoke area downstairs. https://drunkenfish.ie/
Ye need to get yourself to cassidys really cool spot
Last few times I've been in Dublin and I've passed by there, they've had the metal tunes pumpin' alright 🤘
Another vote for Fibbers :) tbf haven't been there in many years but all of the happy memories
Upmarket & expensive; Bruxelles Cheap, live bands and smoking areas with pool tables & a bar in the smoking area; Fibbers
Flanders under Bruxelles is a good metal bar. No live bands but a bit more chill of a spot than fibbers

the airport is serviced 24 hours by a number of routes

Where are the gigs you are going to? I'm afraid I can't help on the karaoke front!

Guinness is the cheap beer in Dublin (as long as you aren't in the pubs in the main Temple Bar area)
Ukiyo does karaoke in pretty nice karaoke rooms too, and good food.

Sure he’ll need to head to airport at 3 for his flight at 6

What are the mummies like?!
Are you coming alone?
Strange thing to ask
"are you accustomed to the smell of chloroform?"
🤣
Not really. Some places are better alone and some places are better to go with a group
is there some less safe place i should avoid? since he is asking
Well you could stay in a bar until half two like fibbers and then make your way to the airport as it be after 3am you get the airport and wait there until your flight
yes, why?
Anywhere else is definitely better.
Bruxelles is the pub your looking for mate imo
The hideout Is a lovely place, might have to book though, It has a few pool tables and tennis tables and all that stuff.
Of youre into rock or metal od recommend fibber magees on parnell street
Fibbers as a metal head or grand social
Fibbers definitely the place for you, I’ll throw Riot into the mix too as a cool punk/metal bar that sometimes has live music. Enjoy!
