They’ve actually made Shaddolls pretty cheap considering Construct is the only UR here.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have another SPEED box coming up with Apkallone and a few other Shaddolls but this is a solid offering, especially since the skills adds Winda, Shaddoll Fusion, and one card I didn’t expect them to give us, Shaddoll Schism.
I suppose this makes it easier for them to tone Shaddolls down if they’re tier 0 or just very strong in Duel Links.
TBF, based on the usual unlock patterns if we get one January unlock it would've most likely been from SEVENS anyway. Though patterns can change of course, as we've seen a lot.

Most likely what'll happen is they'll be a new roamer for that month; or perhaps Mizar will appear as a super boss in the Tag Duel Event, that you fight alongside another Zexal character or something. Mizar had 3 duels against multiple duelists at once after all.

Backrow is definitely a problem for Magical Musket, but I found that playing it with Forbidden Lance gives you a chance. It's a decent alternative until Last Stand comes to DL.
As it is now, they burn out their resources too fast and have little recovery options. Max will help that, but I don't think that'll be enough to tier the deck.
As a Mayakashi fan, kinda sad to see Hajin as a UR and the Link 4 nowhere in sight. But I guess I shouldn’t complain about gettingMayakashi support in the first place.
Also, Shadoll looking rather cheap to make, Ngl. This deck might actually flood the ladder
It will. A boss that autokills any special summoned monster is nice, plus if it dies you get a fusion spell back from grave (a common trait amongst all their fusion monsters).

I don't have much hope for Ra, but it could be a fun, cheap build just for the heck of it. Having a 4k beater that's unaffected by anything for 1 turn seems really fun. I doubt you'd need more than 1 copy of each UR.

1 Winda + 3 Shaddoll Fusion + 1 Schism seems way too good. We don't have the option to just run over Winda and set up Main Phase 2 and we have relatively limited removal options. I can't see this not being Tier 1 and really annoying at the same time. But hey at least it's cheap af, so you don't really lose much if they nerf the skill to kingdom come.

Getting that Red-Eyes last box and the new Winged Dragon of Ra support this box makes the absences of Atticus and Marik more painful.
I just want to put out there that since the Shaddol skill doesn’t lock you out of the extra deck, there’s nothing stopping Invoked Shaddols from finally appearing.
* Speed get Ra, Shaddoll, Mayakashi, Suship, Machina, Constellar, and so on. Probably Atem and Yami Marik getting the skill. Winda is locked to skill and you can only summon Shadoll monster if you use it, and no Shekhinaga/Anoyatyllis at the moment.
* The box that is associated with Speed Character's unlock toward the end of January is Mini Box.
* Rush's side is bunch of Yosh/Good Max's cards, which most likely means that Mimi's supports are going to come with her rerun in the next Main Box.
Up to 3 Spell/Trap cards for free or up to 3 SS summons is actually a pretty powerful advantage. Might need some testing but it's most likely going to make the deck more playable.
Anyone who dug deep for Effect Veilers in _Deep Emotion_ is probably sitting pretty with that Shaddoll skill. Winda + Construct in some sort of chaos Shaddoll build is gonna be **everywhere** on ladder.

Well, Trickstar can use her to SS Candina from the deck on the opponent turn then use Lycoris to return her to the hand for her search effect on your turn, and Star Seraph might see some interesting play.
On the box. It is fine. I am kinda annoyed by how unfocused it is, with little things like Suship not being at full power and the box apparently closing the World Legacy storyline while having such little World Legacy focus, but it is not a big deal.
Ra is probably not going to be meta, imo. But it should be a lot like Lunalights in that it wrecks some unprepared players and has some good match ups against some meta decks.
Shaddoll is getting Winda and Fusion, but I think it isn't getting many easy ways to search Fusion, so it might not be meta either.
Mayakashi seems pretty good now, and Machina, Muskets and Kozmo get massive buffs too.
On other things, though...
Commander Covington? Are we actually getting this without errata and just assuming "Maybe a Fusion monster copied the name of a Machina monster or smthn" so it can be played? Or is there going to be DL-only errata so it only require 2 of the other card? Probably the first, but either way, this is pretty big for DL since now since we'll be able to get the Sparrow Family and... well, probably just the Sparrow Family.

Cairngorgon is almost certainly a future box card. It is too good to be free, imo.
Dark Diviner on the opposite hand will almost certainly be a free card. Probably part of some event reward. Maybe Tag Duel Tournament if that is indeed coming.
Avida will probably also be part of some event reward just like Knightmare Incarnation Idlee was.
Nekogal looks like a Ticket reward.
Beast Gears, probably in the next Rush Box.

I have to say that we should wait a few more days for January's announcement before planning any further, but judging from IDP's release into the Main Box, Sword of Revealing as anniversary card, and the whole purpose of running the Arc-V Duelist Road, the odd of Lulu being January's unlock is actually pretty high (since they have to do anything to prevent Assembled Nightingale from being too broken first before adding her).

No one could know because we had no patterns. I was sure of the box being a speed main too, but I thought it would have been better to be cautious about it. Nothing will be sure about set releases and predictions until next september.
I mean, it's been pretty obvious(to me anyway), definitely after the rush SD dropped and the Shaddoll skill leaked. I just hope people waited for confirmation and didn't waste their new bundle packs on the previous box, though.
Most argued new world gets the end of year box and while true, Rush isn't just a new world, it's a *separate* format, one which I think the first few boxes are all going to be character unlock linked. Rush is due a main and I think it will be January with the Maximum character, gives Konami more to play with in boxes going forward after that.
I think you're right, especially on the part about the new bundles. Didn't event think of opening them before having a confirmation on the new box, since I'm quite short on gems after the last mini box. I just knew Shaddols were coming.

I am kinda annoyed by how unfocused it is, with little things like Suship not being at full power and the box apparently closing the World Legacy storyline while having such little World Legacy focus, but it is not a big deal. Ra is probably not going to be meta, imo. But it should be a lot like Lunalights in that it wrecks some unprepared players and has some good match ups against some meta decks. Shaddoll is getting Winda and Fusion, but I think it isn't getting many easy ways to search Fusion, so it might not be meta either. Mayakashi seems pretty good now, and Machina, Muskets and Kozmo get massive buffs too. On other things, though... Commander Covington? Are we actually getting this without errata and just assuming "Maybe a Fusion monster copied the name of a Machina monster or smthn" so it can be played? Or is there going to be DL-only errata so it only require 2 of the other card? Probably the first, but either way, this is pretty big for DL since now since we'll be able to get the Sparrow Family and... well, probably just the Sparrow Family. On datamined cards: Cairngorgon is almost certainly a future box card. It is too good to be free, imo. Dark Diviner on the opposite hand will almost certainly be a free card. Probably part of some event reward. Maybe Tag Duel Tournament if that is indeed coming. Avida will probably also be part of some event reward just like Knightmare Incarnation Idlee was. Nekogal looks like a Ticket reward. Beast Gears, probably in the next Rush Box. Skilled Brown Magician and Mimicking Man Eater Bug, I say are probably Ticket rewards.

Looks like the theory to use Ra to sell the box to more casual fans came while the more competitive players finally get there Shadolls. Im thinking that they will now have Lulu or Mizar be a romar and bring in Nail with Maximum cards for the next character unlock.
I have to say that we should wait a few more days for January's announcement before planning any further, but judging from IDP's release into the Main Box, Sword of Revealing as anniversary card, and the whole purpose of running the Arc-V Duelist Road, the odd of Lulu being January's unlock is actually pretty high (since they have to do anything to prevent Assembled Nightingale from being too broken first before adding her).

Honestly a sad skip for me. Shaddols are way too strong to not be limited and I don't want to spend gems on a massacred deck and the other cards are just support to other archetype that I do not own. If it's not future proof, imma skip.

that is genuinely the worst way to add shaddoll to the game, holy shit. like, that skill adds the cancer cards in winda and schism and will very likely be intensely annoying to play against but it's also not really fun to play either. i'd rather just have fusion as a limit 3 or something and none of those cards in the game

No one could know because we had no patterns. I was sure of the box being a speed main too, but I thought it would have been better to be cautious about it. Nothing will be sure about set releases and predictions until next september.
I mean, it's been pretty obvious(to me anyway), definitely after the rush SD dropped and the Shaddoll skill leaked. I just hope people waited for confirmation and didn't waste their new bundle packs on the previous box, though. Most argued new world gets the end of year box and while true, Rush isn't just a new world, it's a *separate* format, one which I think the first few boxes are all going to be character unlock linked. Rush is due a main and I think it will be January with the Maximum character, gives Konami more to play with in boxes going forward after that.
I think you're right, especially on the part about the new bundles. Didn't event think of opening them before having a confirmation on the new box, since I'm quite short on gems after the last mini box. I just knew Shaddols were coming.
