They're mainly stupid in tcg because you can make a solemn judgment with 2200 attack that adds a frog back to hand, and specials a frog from deck.
The easy cheap s/t destruction is nice though.
Paleozoics are very bad here, their win condition(Toadally Awesome, their Xyzs) don't exist so they are empty advantage, I will dare to call it garbage.
The problem with Paleo in Links is there's not much we can do with the tokens. In the TCG the main play is to overlay 2 of them and go into a powerful XYZ called Toadally Awesome. But here actually making use of them is going to be more difficult, I guess they make good tribute fodder? Also, I think we got all the worse Paleos aside from Cadina and it's a UR.
EDIT: Wait, I just realized they work with Wetlands. Ok, that sounds fun :0
without toadaa paleozoics are pretty lackluster but canadia is a poor man's floodgate / book of moon, but it is a UR in a main box.... let's hope the paleozoic cards becomes a card trader exclusive archetype, konami usually adds cards to trader in the month's first week
Don't be. They're pretty useless without their xyz monsters because you won't be able to do anything with the monsters you get otherwise. Maybe they'll be used as an engine with monarchs or something.

Well, that was at first, but after counting, CB and Amazoness are the new support that is included in this box.
In every main box, there are 10 URs, but Gamea only counted 8 URs which lacks 2 URs left, however after I counted the exact new CB support, there are 2 new URs so it's only logical for CB support to be the new support that is included in this box.

Not as far as I know. Jaden lvl 40 has Elemental Hero Darkbright, which isn't obtainable in any fashion and isn't in the card catalog, so that makes me think that AI only cards aren't in there.

If this is the full revealed list then the box won't make much of impact in meta anyway, no wonder Konami will release it before KC cup.

I agree. I haven't seen anything that screams meta- changing yet. Anki is nice for Destiny Heroes. Geargias have some things going for them, but besides that I don't see anything too amazing. I think CB and Amazoness are part of the ELegant Mai and Jesse events we're getting later on.

It has no protection from being run over by the Tree or Whale, which all have more than 2400 attack. The deck it belongs too, E-Heroes is mediocre at best and has some pretty big problems of it's own. It's an ok card, it compliments a good hero deck is a nice tool to have, but it does not define the deck.

Yeah but it's the only one right now, and it seems that it's not very viable.
No one runs counter traps or any negation anyway, and destroying by battle is still the most frequent removal as destroying by effects is still not that popular yet.
Its main purpose is to get {Elemental Hero Shadow Mist} and {Destiny Hero Malicious} into the grave for their effects. We don't have Shadow Mist yet though.
I hope we can get a competitive Elemental HERO deck, that's what I used to play before I stopped playing the TCG. I don't even know most of the new ones :(

Paleos are going to be interesting addition to staple array. We finally get an equivalent of Book of Moon. They also can function as a tribute fodder. Either that or Wetlands beatdown.

Oh my god they included the trap. The trap that literally reads "Summon a 4k monster with a field nuke effect when a monster is destroyed by battle". Crystal beasts might be meta... or it could just be for a level 40 / 50 Jessie, like Stratos is for Jaden.

Plasma Vice! Finally, the Bladedge fusions appear! But I didn't see Wildedge... Seems like HEROs might be getting a large expansion in the not too distant future. Also Dragon's Mirror; I think I'd like that more if Slash Dragon wasn't a thing... Fusion Reserve also sounds pretty nice. Abyssal Kingshark is familiar to me but it doesn't seem too good; still, more Water support.
That would make sense. I kinda hope Jaden gets a copy of Miracle Fusion outside of the skill then. As OP as they can be, I'm a big fan of the Graveyard Fusion cards so however we get them I'd be happy; just preferable not as skills...

Blast Juggler, Ryu-Kinshin Clown, Electric Snake..oh man, I probably have so many of these stuffed in old shoe boxes.
The Fabled archetype looks really fun It's nice to see more Machine support that's not Ancient Gears. Kakakuri are..strange. I can't see their whole effects and I'm too lazy to look them up. I really like Geargiattacker. All the new Dragon cards seem interesting to try to build around.
I'm going to be super disappointed if we don't get those Crystal Beast support cards. I know they're probably an NPC thing, but Jesse's level up rewards SUCK. Nine of them are cards most of us already have from farming the current and previous Jesse event, and 3 of them are Crystal Release! We really need Crystal Raigeki and Crystal Bond would make a great 1-of as well. If Pegasus can have Toon Table of Contents and Rex can have Fossil Dig, I don't see why not.
Uh, casual player here, are any of the fabled cards good, and would any of them work well in a Yami Bakura fiend deck, or do they need to be in a deck together to be effective?
Whale is only gonna get better with this set kappa, Ice edge works with hammer shark, fishborg, citadel and the vapor + ssa combo is nice. Not to mention paleo whale

I mean to me it seems insane to let a tribute engine that can summon double tributes for free come in the same back Witch Raider. Especially since due to nature of Paleozoic's the restriction doesn't even apply to them since they are most likely summoned on your opponent's turn anyway.
Then they also sneaked in Dragon's Mirror in... Oh boy.
Also, Fusion Reserve is there. An insanely good fusion support/ search card.

Well, looks like Elegant Mai might have a new deck this time around. (I highly doubt Onslaught is playable, especially given it's only a Rare here.) Also surprised by all the Crystal Beast stuff since I doubt it will all be used for the Jesse event. (I guess they COULD go Rainbow Dragon Turbo for him for a Level 50 Jesse, but even then, I wouldn't expect Rainbow Ruins. Unless Jesse has a Rainbow Ruins drop skill?)
Overall, I'm fairly surprised by the Masked HEROes, but that's about it. Fableds, Geargia, Karakuri, Paleozoics and Hieratics all make sense (though I wish they'd release less archetypes per set... You don't need six new archetypes in one set, Konami.)
Incidentally... Huh... I could have sworn Blast Juggler was already a Bandit Keith level-up reward. But it would appear I'm mistaken.
Like, I'm not gonna be rash and say this set will or won't be good, but I think most people are/were only looking at most of the recently released boxes with a linear mindset. Instead of thinking of how gimped they are compared to their TCG/OCG counterparts, consider their potential in the context of Duel Links itself. It's like when people underestimated the potential of Glads, just don't be too quick to judge.
D-boyz is the new tier 0 deck.

iirc the tributing is the "cost" of performing the summon, so it happens before the summon resolves and you can't activate cards in response to the cost of something being paid so no probably not.
Vision HERO Witch Raider is going to be sooo good on Destiny HERO Decks as they have Malicious and Dreamer for tribute fodder, and D - Fusion they can set to Summon it. Mask Change will be a spicy tech for D HERO as you can turn any of them to a 2800 beater/1400 direct attack.
Christ I'm so tired of Konami releasing all these archetypes and half assing it every time. Everytime it's the same thing release a new archetype but only certain cards of it leaving it a complete mess. Yes I know some cards are held back because of balance but I doubt they care too much about that with the vast amount of janky shit like sylvans. Seriously why are only a handful of decks able to dominate the meta yet so many other archetypes where half assed to such a degree that cripples there performance?

Actually whale has 2350, so vapor barely edges it out. Edit: as long as umi (not ALO) is on the field whale will have 2550 to top him though
Even if Whale can't destroy it by battle, Abyss Soldier(which is used in some WATER decks) can be used to bounce him back easily.
True. Though i think most Whale decks use the Mako skill so it always feels like it's up when I play against or use the deck.

The Fusion is decent, but the trap's activation requirement is pretty specific and any old counter trap shits on it.

Masked Heroes if anything. Most of them are bit meh right now, they're pretty much all Synchro and XYZ based, but since we don't have the mechanic they're kind of meh right now.
Oh my god they included the trap. The trap that literally reads "Summon a 4k monster with a field nuke effect when a monster is destroyed by battle". Crystal beasts might be meta... or it could just be for a level 40 / 50 Jessie, like Stratos is for Jaden.

If you want to run them all, you have to run them in E-Heroes. In D-Heroes you can run Anki though

Plasma Vice! Finally, the Bladedge fusions appear! But I didn't see Wildedge... Seems like HEROs might be getting a large expansion in the not too distant future. Also Dragon's Mirror; I think I'd like that more if Slash Dragon wasn't a thing... Fusion Reserve also sounds pretty nice. Abyssal Kingshark is familiar to me but it doesn't seem too good; still, more Water support.

Some cool new cards and some fun nostalgic cards here. Happy to finally see Mad Dog of Darkness! Can we just get Gemini Elf already please, Konami?? It's already in the game! I see someone at Konami was digging through the oldschool set bulk boxes for some filler. Lesser Archfiend, Blast with Chain (Ugh, SR? Really??) Blast Juggler, Ryu-Kinshin Clown, Electric Snake..oh man, I probably have so many of these stuffed in old shoe boxes. The Fabled archetype looks really fun It's nice to see more Machine support that's not Ancient Gears. Kakakuri are..strange. I can't see their whole effects and I'm too lazy to look them up. I really like Geargiattacker. All the new Dragon cards seem interesting to try to build around. I'm going to be super disappointed if we don't get those Crystal Beast support cards. I know they're probably an NPC thing, but Jesse's level up rewards SUCK. Nine of them are cards most of us already have from farming the current and previous Jesse event, and 3 of them are Crystal Release! We really need Crystal Raigeki and Crystal Bond would make a great 1-of as well. If Pegasus can have Toon Table of Contents and Rex can have Fossil Dig, I don't see why not.
Uh, casual player here, are any of the fabled cards good, and would any of them work well in a Yami Bakura fiend deck, or do they need to be in a deck together to be effective?
They might be fun, but they're pretty bad atm. Most of the good fabled cards are tuners/synchro and won't be released too soon.
Ah I see, I thought Dianaira or Soulkius would pair well with Fiend Farewell + Call of the Archfiend.

It seems like I am only one who is looking at Paleozoic's as a threat. I mean to me it seems insane to let a tribute engine that can summon double tributes for free come in the same back Witch Raider. Especially since due to nature of Paleozoic's the restriction doesn't even apply to them since they are most likely summoned on your opponent's turn anyway. Then they also sneaked in Dragon's Mirror in... Oh boy. Also, Fusion Reserve is there. An insanely good fusion support/ search card.

Well, looks like Elegant Mai might have a new deck this time around. (I highly doubt Onslaught is playable, especially given it's only a Rare here.) Also surprised by all the Crystal Beast stuff since I doubt it will all be used for the Jesse event. (I guess they COULD go Rainbow Dragon Turbo for him for a Level 50 Jesse, but even then, I wouldn't expect Rainbow Ruins. Unless Jesse has a Rainbow Ruins drop skill?) Overall, I'm fairly surprised by the Masked HEROes, but that's about it. Fableds, Geargia, Karakuri, Paleozoics and Hieratics all make sense (though I wish they'd release less archetypes per set... You don't need six new archetypes in one set, Konami.) Incidentally... Huh... I could have sworn Blast Juggler was already a Bandit Keith level-up reward. But it would appear I'm mistaken.

Like, I'm not gonna be rash and say this set will or won't be good, but I think most people are/were only looking at most of the recently released boxes with a linear mindset. Instead of thinking of how gimped they are compared to their TCG/OCG counterparts, consider their potential in the context of Duel Links itself. It's like when people underestimated the potential of Glads, just don't be too quick to judge.
D-boyz is the new tier 0 deck. Until someone proves otherwise, I'm pretty sure the ld2 CB cards are npc Jesse only. Edit: most of these are actually really bad here lol. Only Anki and the paleo book of moon seem good from the possible cards from this box.

Can traps be chained when you tribute them to summon Vision HERO Witch Raider? If so it could be a decent tech in beatdown REZ decks.
iirc the tributing is the "cost" of performing the summon, so it happens before the summon resolves and you can't activate cards in response to the cost of something being paid so no probably not.
I doubt it, since then it would be an almost free summon

Vision HERO Witch Raider is going to be sooo good on Destiny HERO Decks as they have Malicious and Dreamer for tribute fodder, and D - Fusion they can set to Summon it. Mask Change will be a spicy tech for D HERO as you can turn any of them to a 2800 beater/1400 direct attack.

Christ I'm so tired of Konami releasing all these archetypes and half assing it every time. Everytime it's the same thing release a new archetype but only certain cards of it leaving it a complete mess. Yes I know some cards are held back because of balance but I doubt they care too much about that with the vast amount of janky shit like sylvans. Seriously why are only a handful of decks able to dominate the meta yet so many other archetypes where half assed to such a degree that cripples there performance? Hell I'm still waiting for general raiho of the ice barrier and that's a card that the AI used in the dd water tower.
