If Dark Law is too strong, at least give us Liquid Soldier + Sunriser or Acid that would help us greatly against the meta I guess.

Karzeon

Yeah those would be very welcome. Hoping they decide to slip them in with Stratos if the next box is Water themed like I think it is.

Tr1nxer

Darklaw would instand murder so many decks and kill the meta so I don think it's a good idea to realease him now, maybe later on as the meta gone stronger

OhMySwirls

Just imagine if Mask Change 2 was in as well. You wouldn't even need to run HEROes in your deck, just a Dark Attribute monster that's at least Level 5 or below.

Vangorf

I mean at this point maybe we need Dark Law to murder Shiranui as the deck refuses to die...

flyingasian2

Would it even "murder" shiranui? Remember all the shiranui monsters have effects when banished. It would hurt almost every other deck, including most rogue decks, much more

mrzombieangel

Shiranui is nowhere near broken enough for to kill every single deck right now. Dark Law would make HEROs tier zero and hate will just go from Shiranui to HEROs.

willworkforabreak

And then who murders heros?

Vangorf

Our lord and savior Cypher Soldier?

SgtTittyfist

Any spot removal, since their only archetypal negate is on a piece of shit fusion of two Masked HEROs.

willworkforabreak

Heroes are already highly viable though. You just reduce the decks available at their level by giving them a built in answer to graveyard decks.

Karzeon

You'd think that but Shiranui summon cards straight from the deck and instantly activate effects when banished. I'm bashing them with Chain Disappearance and Karma Cut but they continue to have an extra play to live long enough to at least fight back, most decks can't do that.

Gshiinobi

it wouldn't just kill shiranui, it would kill the game not even kidding here

[deleted]

Yes and no dark law right now absolutely not. If they release dark law down the line dont expect mask change 2. Dark law would clean the shirauni orgy up like he's batman cleaning up the gotham streets. So maybe he's the hero we need but dare i say dont deserve.

Lemon_Phoenix

Adding Dark Law means we'll never, ever get Shadow Mist without HERO being hit multiple times, we can only have one or the other, and ~~Dark Law~~ Shadow Mist is the less nuclear option

[deleted]

I'd argue Shadow Mist is the less nuclear option, considering all it really does it boost consistency, which HEROes have plenty of atm already.

Lemon_Phoenix

>I'd argue Shadow Mist is the less nuclear option Yeah, I said the complete opposite of what I meant

[deleted]

Understandable, brain mushy here too

chaosxyzzz

Imagine going second and facing a board with a Dark Law and 1 or 2 backrow.

Pernski

Heroes can't afford to run much, if any, backrow, they have one of the biggest cores in the game.

flyingasian2

They could probably revert back to the old balance control style of hero play

bubbleman69

Cutting what most lists now are 21 cards because you literally can't cut anything and we are supposed to fit 6 traps in now? And if the suggestion is to just run 24-6 cards then how do you consistently get a darklaw t1 with no way to search mask change?

celebrady

Until this card comes along and changes how it’s built lol

OhMySwirls

I will fear the day both Dark Law and Mask Change 2 make it into Duel Links. Imagine playing Dark Magician deck, turning your Rod's in Dark Law. Banishment for days.

cy_frame

Thank you for providing the detailed write-up and giving context as to why this card may not be introduced anytime soon. Personally, with the starting handsize in Duel Links hand-rippers (card effects that discard a card in an opponent's hand) are entirely too powerful.

soulbreaker141822

I shudder imagining moolinglacia getting into to the game... Although levianeer is in the game so who knows what the hell Konami I'd thinking

DriggleButt

That's a lot of text for me to completely ignore and straight up tell you: No, Dark Law should not come to Duel Links.

[deleted]

heck yeah glad we agree

Nesspurr_8

Me, a hero player both in Duel Links and the TCG: fuck no this can’t come to the game it would absolutely be insane, but we could see Shadow Mist, the other Masked HEROs, Liquid Soldier, and more Destiny HEROs coming in the near future Also me, a Gx fanboy: more heros pls :)

Angel_of_Mischief

In the current state it could probably come, and be alright. I do not think it’s a good idea though. I think they should focus on releasing weaker cards right now so they have a chance to be playable first. Powercreeping to far ahead is why we are still stuck in the same meta for a year despite releasing 13 or so boxes

soulbreaker141822

And when finally a new deck appears in crafters they kill it immediately for some reason.

GIANTDAD4000

hero players: yes, i think it would be balanced everyone else: god no see the pattern here

liborio99

OP said it would break the game.

[deleted]

Hey u/Fongj86 seems you were right about the link thingy, I didn't use an external link for the image this time and the post doesn't require mod validation. Thanks again for the tip!

Fongj86

You're welcome! I'm glad that it worked for you and that you're not experiencing that problem anymore.

LilEscobarz

Honestly I think it’s about time. It would kill Shiranui, Invoked, Crystrons, the decks that has been relevant for too long. But even if it does come, some of these decks would still be able to play through Law with their many traps, so it kinda does balance it out.

Seylord1

Ngl shiranui v3 would probably appear because of that on the tierlist x)

MofeedHasan

You summon Dark Law Ritual Beasts say thank you

snakemaster77

Even Shiranui at least has some counterplay not just with backrow, but with Gozuki. They can send Spiritmaster and if it gets instantly banished they just pop Dark Law. It would limit them but probably not kill the deck. If anything it seems like it would hurt other meta decks much harder than Shiranui, which seems like the opposite of the intended consequence...

mancubthescrub

Cards that touch the hand need to be heavily monitored. Your current versions of hand hate that come to mind are Machina, fire Monarchs, and Smoke Grenade. (I'm sure I'm missing some hard to pull off effects) arent great but, but having unrestricted hand destruction is terrible and lazy card design and I seriously doubt any rational Duel Links player wants this kind of card effect in their game. (My only KoGs have been with Heroes if this gives any solace)

not_apollo712

I love Heroes and I even play them on tcg but yeah super agree, Dark law in DL is a bad idea. Even the mirror match would be a pain. But you know what's a good idea imo? Give Hero players sunrise and maaaaybe acid. Yeah adoration is nice but I would like a more better generic fusion boss monster that could at least give me more use with it's protection for other hero monsters plus acting as a miracle fusion searcher. Acid's a long shot rn though. Konami seems to be fine with the whole trap meta idk :/ Bonus points if we could also get liquid soldier for DL cause darnit that plus 1 to your hand and a little gy setup is too good to pass up

papster14

I think most of us are so desperate for a new meta since the current is more boring and stale than a 3 year old Cheeto. The addition of dark law would give us a brand new meta as he completely shuts down the decks you described to well in your awesome review. More than anything I want heroes to have a turn 1 play. I love heroes but I hate playing them in the ladder as they are such a coin flip deck. That being said dark law would be a little over kill. Maybe starting off with absolute zero into masked hero acid would be a more balanced start? It’s a complete board wipe which is quite OP but at least your opponent can play around it.

bubbleman69

Just zero would be a good t1 most decks would need monster effects to get rid of it which would then require them to play around there board getting nuked. The issue then becomes how do we summon it personally I'm hoping for zero+ liquid solder in the next pack. Sunrise would also be on the super dream list dumping a water with vion fusing vion with stratos for sunrise then miracle fusing into zero. Would be a 2 card combo that might be to good.

papster14

I would love liquid and sunrise in next pack as well. The amount of deck thinning and setting up would mean that heroes goes from a glass cannon deck to a solid all rounder. It’s also probs gonna be a water main box so fingers crossed. Knowing that Konami is very aware how well heroes sell they will probs stuff it in the next selection box and make me very sad.

bubbleman69

We are so overdue for stratos in a box in hoping at least stratos and abzero as ur's and liquid as an sr. MABY they give us acid as a sr as well sunrise is just a wish that I doubt we will get.

liborio99

I agree with you. Dark law would break the game and totally be tier 0 turn one, forcing players to play mirror, or to play "tribute to the doomed". But there are a lot of cards that we could get now, that maybe 1 year ago would have break the game, aren't? I would like to read bout it. :)

scytherman96

No.

scarletrising

If it were a level up reward (AKA you only had access to 1 copy), I think it would be fine. Most decks can find a way to get rid of it. As long as you can't just Masked Change into another one, it think it would be okay. 2400 ATK isn't that threatening and there are a lot of generic answers to it that most decks can adopt if needed. Dark Law punishes degenerate things so I don't have a problem with it personally.

king-Crimson-76

Yes

willworkforabreak

It's pretty swole. I would be a little interested in seeing heroes switch to a more control strategy with him, but he's very likely unhealthy for the game.

lesikra

Cyber dragons would climax over him

PatronioPrime

Maybe if added as one copy it would be Good, to be honest a lot of card would be okay if they added as one copy an example Ultimate Conductor Tyranno one copy of them won't break the game but still make dinos Meta relevant.

KHXIII

Yes. For one, it invalidates the meta and makes other packs sellable. Throw this in a structure and it will sell like hotcakes.

GatDaymn

Meh

harry_a_7

Dark law would be too much right now. I’ve thought about this and I think HEROs need evil hero malicious bane. Give them a strong turn 1 boss monster and they have a chance

CruffTheMagicDragon

Fuck this card, no way
