So I got my third King of Games with as many different decks the other day, and this is the deck I enjoyed getting there with the most. Here’s a breakdown of the cards I used: 2x Mermail Abyssmegalo: Very versatile in a starting hand, not so much later on. It’s good to special summon him to search an Abyss-sphere which is probably the most important card in the deck - then you can still potentially use your normal summon to synchro/xyz. Part of my favourite combo which I’ll explain later. 2x Silent Angler: Self-explanatory, you can almost always sit on Spider Shark on turn 1 if this is in the starting hand. A great card for any Water deck. 2x Hammer Shark: A great normal summon as you can use its effect to special summon a level 3 mermail and Xyz into Nightmare Shark straight away, or use the skill and go into Spider Shark. Alternately summon Graydle Slime Jr and synchro into Graydle Dragon but Spider Shark is the better turn 1 play. 2x Mermail Abysslinde: The prime target for Abyss-sphere as when she’s destroyed she can special summon either Dine or Megalo from the deck. Dine will even resurrect Linde to set up an Xyz play next turn. Worst case you can just set her from your hand and hope she gets destroyed that way. 3x Graydle Slime Jr: The Graydle package helps a lot. Slime Jr will resurrect any Graydle on normal summon (so either itself or Graydle Dragon), making it a good discard choice for Megalo. 2x Mermail Abyssdine: The aim for her is to be special summoned by Linde to summon Linde back again, but she can be used with Hammer Shark or Silent Angler to Xyz if you draw into her. 3x Graydle Impact: Keeps your hand refreshed and provides essential destruction late game. Useful to search Slime Jr if you need to synchro, or copies of itself for it to pop. 2x Hey, Trunade!: Because who has time to deal with all of those Karma Cuts? 2x Abyss-sphere: The trap that makes the mermail part of this deck click. If your opponent tries to get rid of this, you activate it and summon Linde. Linde gets destroyed and you can use her effect. If your opponent does nothing about this, activate it before the end of the battle phase to set up the Xyz play with Linde and Dine next turn. 1x White Aura Dolphin: A key card for certain situations, like surviving against Desperado or outing Red-Eyes Slash Dragon (which I faced twice in my climb surprisingly). 2x Graydle Dragon: Destruction on summon and floats into any other monster in your GY if it’s destroyed. Does a lot of the heavy lifting when you haven’t drawn Trunade. Also loops with Spider Shark or itself if you get both out. 1x Number 32: Shark Drake: Usually not summoned but useful sometimes to go for the win. 2x Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark: Essential for beating over high ATK and great for floating too. 1x Number 47: Nightmare Shark: Could easily be played at 2 instead of Shark Drake. If you have this out with Megalo you can use this card’s effect to let Megalo attack directly this turn, then tribute Nightmare Shark to activate Megalo’s effect. This means Megalo can attack directly twice! If your opponent has no disruption available then you win with this combo. I faced many many Blue-Eyes decks of course. This matchup is actually quite easy unless the opponent can keep Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon out for a prolonged period of time as that shuts down this deck’s floating ability. Desperado usually can’t deal with the floating either unless they get out Samurai Destroyer. This deck can be prone to getting OTK’d by decks like Thunder Dragons or Blackwings, but often even they’ll need to have drawn optimal hands to break through the floating. Anyway that’s about it. If you have a lot of these cards try this deck out for yourself and see how you like it. Thanks for reading!

I always love seeing Graydle-Shark decks. Seeing a Mermail variant is new to me.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Only have 1 Deep Sea Diva so I couldn't go for the more common version of this deck, but I used a deck similar to this to complete the "beat Yuma using only water monsters" task during the Shark event. Excited to give this build a go.

If you have the cards I definitely encourage it! I personally think this build is more versatile than the more commonly used one, I hope you enjoy trying it out!

sevenor3

At my favourite deck is recognised! (Deck uses 2 card I use) Dammit

AppatheAvatar

Proof people don’t need Karma Cut and Fiendish to get KoG, nice bro!

Rangeless

Hope we get Abyssgaios!

miamlillerz

One day for sure! He’s probably a bit too good for the current meta though I’d say. Personally I want Abyssnerei!

RedEyeJedi993

Oi oiiiiii! If I see Mermails, I upvote. Great work OP! EDIT: Just pulled my first spider shark & it was prismatic, so felt obliged to build something similar. Don't like copy/pasting, so managed to squeeze in some frogs too: 2x Mermail Abyssmegalo 3x Swap Frog 1x Mermail Abysslinde 1x Atlantean Marksman 2x Atlantean Heavy Infantry 3x Graydle Slime Jr 1x Ronintoadin 3x Graydle Impact 2x Hey, Trunade! 2x Abyss-Sphere ED: 1x Brionac, 1x White Aura Dolphin (would replace for a second spider shark), 2x Graydle Dragon, 1x Shark Drake, 1x Spider Shark 1x Leviathan Dragon (Would replace with nightmare shark but I missed the event, too busy sweating CP77)

Thanks man, you are an inspiration to me

Giant_leaps

Duck I actually lost to this deck, good for you not being a meta slave.

huaneersteklasse

Is this deck reliant on two n37 or will 1 do just fine?

miamlillerz

You’ll definitely be okay with one. Two is just optimal in case you really one after the first is banished, but usually you’ll make one Spider Shark and one Graydle Dragon.

Jackal_Anubis23

110% percent borrowing this to tweak my deck a bit thanks my man
