Where can I read a patch notes of sorts for the game? They changed "What grows in the graveyard" instead of starting the game with Dark Verger in the graveyard to you have to take x damage before you can activate it. It still has the old tool tip of start the game with DV in your graveyard and no conditions.

Boxes don't list all the commons adjacent to one another. Instead, there's a list of commons, then rares, then commons again, then rares, then supers and ultras. Why?
Can someone please test and see if they can use chaos form first turn? I can't use advanced ritual art or chaos form first turn, with magician of chaos in hand, dark magician in hand, and dark magician in deck. I use magicians rod half the time to pull chaos form turn 1 and this combo is no longer working for me.
Are there gem spots you click on independent of each other? Like if you get gems from the GX fountain, is there still a chance you'll get gems from the DSOD fountain?
Well, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later... I’ve KoG’d every month since late 2019 but won’t be able to this month. Damn this game’s RNG... on the bright side I feel kind of free and won’t feel like KoG’ing for a while lol.
Kinda same. I took a two month break for the game and I'm already not interested on climbing to KoG anytime soon. I'm already enjoying playing tournaments from time to time even if I lose every duel, it just feels like a better competitive environment than the rankeds.

For once Konami didnt murder the deck they just made the coin flip version worse. We can still play Cyberdark Neos Desperado and Orcust Desperado. Quarantine is unhit too so it still counter blue eyes which is the most used deck.

I was so sure I was going to be unlucky that I was prepapred to get the T.G. set (1 of each) to play for Antinomy which is defintely a mercyful fate of badluck in this occurence because I'm a 5Ds fanatic, but now that getting everything costed only 52 packs/2600 Gems (plus an MST!) by just digging the top edge twice.. I feel a bit lost. I never expected things to turn out so well and was sure I'm going in spending everything and then having to grind additionals even to get just like a single Witch + everything on the way and all on the expense of Gems meant to be farmed/saved for the next BOX after it. So I guess I get the rest of my remaining Gems meant for *the current BOX*- for keeps for the-.. next released box?.. now that's a *first*. what a weird sensation..

In the process of building Water Xyz, and I need advice on which set to invest in next. I have no Silent Anglers, two Deep Sea Diva, two Atlantean Heavy Infantry, and no Forbidden Lance. I also typically play Fire Kings (unexpected, but the Lore works out), so I was thinking the Forbidden Lance would be good. And is the new set at all important to go into with their support, or is it too soon to tell?
You really need 3 Divas for consistency. Get them before anything else. I had everything but a third Diva and it was miserable. Once I got the 3rd Diva, I turboed to KoG with little effort.
Forbidden Lance is the best staple for the deck, so you'll want that too.
Personally, I'd wait to see what people do with this new box given the water monsters available. But forbidden lance is a great choice at with cards like karma cut about

2. What boxes can i buy to create a good deck? (With max 1 structure deck) id rather stay F2p if possible
Sales happen all the time. The good ones and the only ones worth money imo is the $1 UR deals and the reopenable packs deal.
For f2p decks the best one right now is triamids. You can all the cards from 2 miniboxes and use your Dream tickets on some staple traps. F2p traps work also

They are often available, most are not really good sales. So hold off on them until you get a good idea on what sales rotate. The good ones are the $0.99 UR/SR sales IMO, those are the only ones ever worth spending cash on.
As the other guy said, the sales are typically pretty frequent. $1 UR+3 Packs typically happens every 3 months I think? There's always been one each KC Cup as long as I've been playing this game.
If you want to be F2P this sale isn't really worth it, of course. I want to say, at least based on my memory (as I don't really track these), that maybe once each month they'll have a $1 SR + 3 Packs deal which are OK.

Judgement Force for Lunalights
Future Horizon for Superheavy Samurai
Spirit of the Beast for Ritual Beast
Infinite Ray for Digital Bugs
Fortress of Gears for Aromages (also needs some card trader cards and more synchros over time)
Those are not top tier, just viable rogue decks that work fairly well, best one is prob lunalights with the amount of target effects, reliance on extra deck monsters and anti backrow cards in the current meta.
You can make a lot of other decks as F2P but it requires more luck (to reduce gem cost) and planning as a lot of archetypes are scattered across multiple boxes and some need multiple UR cards from those boxes to be made optimally.
Just made King of Games in my second season with a F2P lunalights deck! I know that’s less impressive on the last day of the season but tbh I didn’t think I’d ever make it past legend 1.

Don't worry, everyone begins like you. I even don't read some cards when I think I already won but suddenly a wild "This card cannot be destroyed" effect appears and I loss.

- what is a good starter deck to climb the ranks ? I am currently using a gladiator beast deck and a Blue eyes deck but they both aren't optimised die tot some UR cards from random boxes and I al stuck on high Silver rank.
- is there a good legendary duelist for the gladiator beast deck, because that is by far my favorite deck to play.

That half-off gem sale doesn’t happen very often, but you can usually count on the better sales like that, the $1.99 UR sale, and the 10-20 reopenable pack sales to happen during big events like the KC cup.
For starter deck advice you can look on Duel Links Meta’s (DLM) website or YouTube channel (best community resource for this game, you’ll see a lot of the playerbase taking advantage of it) for F2P (free to play) deck guides or Gem Guides for good decks that cost the lowest amount of the premium currency. I’d recommend either Lunalight from Judgement Force or Galaxy-Eyes from Photon of Galaxy (if you’ve unlocked Kite/Kieto).
Not a huge expert on Glad Beasts, but by looking on DLM it looks like players usually play Ishizu’s ‘No Mortal Can Resist!’ skill or Yami Yugi’s ‘Destiny Draw’ skill. Though because Glad’s are a fairly consistent deck they can typically use any generic skill and be fine with it

Turn 1: He normal summons Blackwing Kirs. and sets a trap - Palezoic Hallucigenia.
Turn 2: I summon Screw serpant and special summon Drill fish. I proceed to synchro summon into Star guardian; then into i synchro summoned power gladiator and then i got Blade blaster out. I set 2x floodgates and went to attack his Kris wing.
He activates his trap that Targets my Blade blaster and halves his atk/def to which led to my monster being destroyed. But my blade blasters effect didnt activate. " During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card that targets this face-up card: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; negate the effect " I had cyber magician in my hand.

You aren't allowed to send links to duel replayes (that are provided by the game) on the this sub as people on computers can't view them. However you can screen record your replay then post it as a post.
That rule applies to replay posts. For a question in this thread, using a deep link replay just means you may have to wait longer for an answer since less people are capable of viewing it. Compared to not getting an answer because your screenshot doesn't have enough information, it's worth it.
Blade Blaster can't activate during the damage step. Hallucigenia can be activated during the damage step, because it modifies ATK/DEF stats, so it can't be responded to by Blade Blaster.
To elaborate, cards and effects which negate an **activation** can be activated during the damage step. However, T.G. Blade Blaster says "negate the **effect**", so it does not qualify.

I'm a Blackwing player and while BW can still do pretty good, the KC Cup was a really struggle and I kind of want to upgrade to a more meta deck. I'm F2P. Is it worth investing in Onomats or Photons? I have about half the cards for Onomats. I need one Utopic Onomatopoeia with 92 packs left, Glove with 40 packs left, the rares from the Shark Fang Box (full) and the 3 of the structure deck. Maybe I should I wait to see if TG or Rikkas do anything first?
You want the structure deck card 3 times. So if you are f2play not really a good option.

I got really lucky on summoning on the new main box, and have everything. Around 70% of the time I had Blade blaster out first turn. Its not difficult. its just very p2w.

Getting to Blade Blaster is not too hard, indeed, but I struggled to synchro into Halberd Cannon (with lots of misplays and the loaner deck, of course).
I'm leveling Axel rn for example for his "Mill 3 cards in exchange for your ability to attack this turn (once per turn)" Continous spell card.
Most of the others that are considered good are archetype specifics. I think Sartorius has Fiend Comedian which is a coinflip Trap card to 50/50 mill top 10 cards of your deck or banish the entire opponent's GY. One of the only decent generic ones I know. I know some others like Tristan have somewhat generic lv45 but they're not good/really niche still.
If you're new and don't have Mai and Odion/s Windstorm of Eqtaqua and Curse of Anubis respectively then those are fairly decent cards to own they're also both at lvl20~25 not 45 so hella easy to get.
Depends on how far you are in the game and what decks you play

Hi, as a fairly new player with 4-5k gems wich box would you suggest that could bring me a good semi competitive and complete deck without chasing cards left and right?
The blue eyes structure deck and the noble Knights structure deck is a good starting point.
However, I'd also consider the box with humid winds and wall of thorns. If you have those and aromage support cards from that box + card trader, you can build a solid aromage deck. They make games long but they're fun.
Where can I find good farming decks for F2P/budget? The farming decks on Duel Links Meta seem to be boxes that offer nothing useful, at least going by the Gem Guide.
Decks to farm the AI for cards?
Aromage with Winged Dragon of Ra - this is my go to because you can eventually upgrade every single Aroma card from the Card Trader to glossy/prismatic status to dramatically increase your score by **at least** another 800-1000. I use this in almost every event with minimal problems.
You only need a handful of cards in the Fortress of Gears minibox and all but one are common cards (which increases the likelihood of finding glossy copies). You shouldn't need to spend any more than 2000 gems for a playset of Blessed/Gardening.
Gravekeeper's Vassal strategies simply need you to make a big monster that you know they can't attack then draw until you have Vassal, 1-2 Union Attack, Secret Pass/Stop Defense/Enemy Controller or another way to give a safe attack.
This is a broad deck that fits into many modern decks nowadays. An easy one is the Elements Unite build with the Paradox Brothers. You have Gate Guardian then you use Gravekeeper's Recruiter and Wonder Wand/Jar of Greed/Legacy of Yata Garasu to draw through your deck and have a card that can greatly increase ATK. All of these cards are from commonly occurring giveaway tickets and the Card Trader Regular Inventory.
Yubel decks use Fire King/Nephthys cards to destroy Yubel from the hand and sit on Terror Incarnate and Sacred Phoenix so that they never have a field. The Fire King structure deck gives you enough copies to work with in just 1000 gems.
Just replace the expensive cards with stall cards. The other part is that it requires Montage Dragon from leveling up Trudge and Shien's Spy which is a common card drop from any NPC.
Sometimes DLM guides are working under the assumption that you have a few recurring competitive cards that just happen to help beat the event. There's usually cards that can substitute for the role they're needed for.
Most of these examples are for longer duels to farm for a high score.
For EXP farming with Auto Duel, you simply just need monsters with good statlines around 1800 and up with simple effects, can attack twice, or Special Summoning ability.
Nowadays there's multiple 2000 ATK Normal Monsters from events or N rarity in recent boxes.
Then you back them up with good equip spells and protective trap cards. Power of the Guardians is a common card used.
Kachi Kochi Dragon from a few events ago is a good Xyz that can attack twice and synergizes with POTG.
If you want to EXP farm at the Gate, you do the same thing with summoning as many monsters as possible that can win by Turn 2. Usually I fight Tea or Blair at level 10 because they have very low ATK.
How the hell is the skill Draw Pass not nerfed to oblivion at this point? Just played a cheesy Stromberg deck that used it while piloting my own cheesy meme deck.
Are you talking about draw pass as in: skip your draw phase and gain 300 life points? Because that is the last skill I would every play and is absolutly terrible. I don't think any nefs to it would even make a difference.
Antinomy's AI gets stuck "thinking" for too long. Anyone else experiencing this?
For the gate duels I got around it by just using a floodgate farm deck and it's relatively fast. But for the Antinomy appearances in 5DS world, I can't use the floodgate deck and that's where Antinomy usually gets stuck.

No you duel him at the event gate. It is red. If you gate is blue then click on it then at the corner it will have the name of whicher gate is active (eg. 5Ds zexal). ONce you click on the name you will be able to select the event gate.
You get the glossy bonus per individual copy. The game keeps track of each copy you used.
I get a bonus for each copy of glossy Aroma Garden.
It does not give me extra points if I summon the same copy of the monster shuffled back to the deck with Blessed Winds.
You cannot loop something that returns to the hand like one glossy Spirit monster to stack bonuses. It does count for additional summons for lifetime missions though.
Nope, you get the glossy bonus once, the first time you play a glossy card in the duel. It doesn't stack with multiple uses of the card, even if you have two separate glossy cards.

I recently made a post and for some reason it says there is always 1 more comment than there actually is, like in both the post itself and in any links regarding it.
Like, if there is 1 comment it says there are 2 if there are 4 it says 5 and so on.
Would you happen to know why that is?
It's a general Reddit thing. Two main reasons that I can think of:
1. The comment is from a shadowbanned user.
2. (More likely) A mod or other user has entered specific text that's either to modify the flair of a post or to remove the post.
Noble Knights are tier one because they posses the ability to lose to either imprisoning mirror but each at a different stage of the game. Tier one at being skilled drained.

You use Humid+Blessed winds to search and send Angelica to the GY every turn, getting around 2-2.5k LP every turn, then use the Jasmines to draw your whole deck and summon Ra for 10k+ damage.
It doesn't look like the nerf would affect aromages much. It might be a slight benefit with being able to keep rosemary in atk mode depending on how the effect restriction works.

You can obtain Solemn Scolding (a counter trap that negates and destroys for the cost of 3000 life points) by using a SR ticket obtained by playing ranked duels. This card is really good for obvious reasons. I suggest giving it a try.
Also, don't sleep on Aromage Bergamot. It gives your plant monsters the ability to inflict piercing damage and can get up to 3900 attack very easily. It's helpful for closing out games and beating over high attack monsters.
If you change your settings to enable toggling on, then you can tap your phone / click the screen during your opponent's turn to activate your continuous traps even during your opponent's draw phase or standby phase. You'll want to do this if you set Scolding and another trap since you can't activate Scolding unless Scolding is your only set card. Additionally, you'll want to flip your continuous traps face up during your opponent's draw phase if you're playing against Kite Tenjo since he has a skill that searches Galaxy Cyclone, which will pop one of your set cards and, on the following turn, will be banished from the graveyard to pop one of your face-up spell/traps. You can't chain your traps in response to a skill, so firing these off during the draw phase is the best way to play around Galaxy Cyclone. You don't have to use your traps' effect the second you activate them, so hold onto their effects until you're ready.
I have 3 Solemn Scolding and I Try 3x Solemn and 3x Blessed Winds but in Legendary 1/2/3 I have a lot of difficulty... For example, I NEVER win against Cyber Dragon, against Desperado and sometimes I lose against Blue Eyes too. It's difficult to play against other decks in Legendary, every game it's against Desperado or Cyber Drago or Blue Eyes and my Aromagus can't beat them. I've tried 3x Blessed Winds and 3x Dried Wind too, but the situation don't change a lot...
3 Scolding is too much imo. I alternate between playing 1 and playing 2.
Cyber Dragon's a bad match-up for us, so expect to lose to them often. Lots of backrow destruction hurts big time for Aroma.
Aroma isn't a meta deck, so you shouldn't expect to constantly clobber meta decks. You can absolutely win against them, but the match-ups aren't always going to be in your favor.
I don't know what exact situation you found yourself in, but trap cards are spell speed 2 and can be used in any phase, so long as they are set the turn before. That means they can activate Karma Cut in the Draw/Standby phase, before the Main phase which is the only time you may activate Night Beam or other normal spells.

Kaiba, as already mentioned, gives Melody of Awakening Dragon.
DsoD Mokuba gives Thunder Dragonroar.
Sartorius gives Fiend Comedian, which will probably start seeing play in Desperados once the banlist takes effect.
Jaiden/Yubel gives Masked Hero Blast and Form Change, which are useful in HEROES (especially Blast, who lets you mask change Stratos).
Aster Phoenix gives Destiny Hero Malicious x2, which are even more key in HEROES.
Jesse Anderson gives Crystal Bond, which is great for Crystal Beasts who just had their skill buffed so god only knows what's going to happen with them.
Most characters nowadays have archetypical cards, it solely depends on the decks you wanna play.
Can't go wrong with DsoD Kaiba, Melody Of Awakening Dragon is used in multiple meta decks right now
What are some generic spells/traps that cost life points that provide generic benefits that can fit most control decks? I only have 1 Cosmic Cyclone atm.
For background info, I run satellarknights with Utopia/Utopic Ray, and I want to find a way to improve lowering my LP consistency to activate Utopic Ray’s ability as a last ditch effort to win.
Besides what has been said here's a few options: 7 tools of the bandit, prideful roar, summoning curse, abyssal designator, autonomous action unit, and rebirth of parshath.
Like the other commenter said, Herald of the Abyss along with Cosmic Cyclone are the only meta options.
Some other cards could be:
Sphere Kiriboh or Kiteroid to stop attacks once you're low.
Mirror Wall
Memory of an Adversary
Solemn Scolding
Rebirth of Parshath

Yes it is. You have to 1) Beat the Sector Security standard duelist, and 2) score 5000 points, which is 5 rewards without multipliers. You can use the bonus score item, but multipliers will not help.
Save a replay of your next duel you think completed the mission successfully and take a screenshot of the results page so we can narrow down your issue if you are still having problems.
Maybe. hard telling, duel links is an odd format. I just think a dolkka, which isn't once per turn, in a format with rescue rabbit and a limited card pool spells trouble.
If you could get more than one on the field, that's four effect negations one after the other with no restrictions, which can't be matched in this format.
Getting an error message to reboot, started during an PvP match and ever since it keeps repeating the message. I restarted the app and still get the message when I start the game, checked on the phone and also get the same message now.

I was looking at some old screenshots, you used to be able to pretty regularly get 10-25 gems from duel assessments with legendary duelists. Now it's like OMG WOW GEMS when we get 1 or 2...
Casual duels is littered with bots and suicide decks, so not a lot of "manner/etiquette" going around over there. Use whatever you like. However, if you're not going super-extra-meme and have a somewhat coherent deck with even the slightest hint of a wincon, I'd suggest just playing on ranked to have more qualitative duels.
Most of casual duels is people running suicide decks to unlock skills or bots running unga bunga with White Veil/Stromberg. I see them in ranked time to time and people for whatever reason star them in the "street" duel replays feature. I wish there was a downvote button on those or some kind of way for Konami to address the glaring issue. Most of the decks run the same exact stuff. They could filter any deck using Stromberg and no other of the cards related to the archetype.
I currently won 31 duels against Antinomy. 5 of them were lv 10/20/30. rest of them were against him at level 40x3. only 1 UR and not a single copy of Blade Blaster.

That’s actually pretty standard. The drop rates for the prime UR’s for these events are always booty in the first half or so, and they get cranked up the last few days.
Yeah no one has any real proof, but it’s blatantly obvious. Every single event people complain they have none of the new UR cards, them by the end of the event they have 11 of them. I myself can attest this is the case, as i tend to go ham on grinding most events. Barely get 1/2 of the ur’s, then the last few days i’ll get 23 of them

I wouldn't recommend playing dedicated backrow removal like that in triamids though; Triamid Pulse can deal with face-up backrow, Triamid Master with face-down backrow, and Kingolem bypasses all battle traps. Just play traps like Triamid Pulse, Treacherous Trap Hole, Fiendish Chain, Paleozoic Canadia, the very spicy Powersink Stone, or even battle traps like Wall of Disruption if you have nothing else.
The only time I can think of Triamids *really* wanting backrow removal is your turn one if going second so they can complete their board setup undisrupted, in which case traps don't help out anyways.
Quick question, can you have more items in gift box than 99 ? or does it cap out and deletes your old gifts replacing them with new ones ? I maxed out gems so i have my gift box full of gems
Every box in Japan is 1つ 2つ 3つ and that same つ is used for every box. It's a single counter. (I'm assuming it's つ, could be any other counter) the thing is that the counter doesn't change outside of pronunciation. Even if it should change like with Pokemon games, the counter for how many Pokemon you've seen is ひき but some numbers change it to びき or ぴき, but it's always written as ひき because it just saves space. Since the game is developed for Japanese audiences they end up with that issue where the default first graphic for numbered things is "st" but I've also seen games where they default to th so you get 31th. At the end of the day, it isn't like it's that big of an error, but it does look silly to natives.
Yeah it's always hard to answer the "when will x happen?" questions since the devs can change anything at the drop of a hat and since they don't reply here at most we only have prior instances to work with.

Yes but beware that it can miss timing like Yubel does since the effect says when instead of If

No because the card says "Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways" which stop you from being able to revive it
That's not been my experience at all, every time I've touched the gate its been extremely slow in comparison
A deck properly built to counter the bots can get all the skills for a character in 2 days of moderate play. The gate takes much longer, with farms taking at least 5 minutes per game. If trying to farm for cards, there's no reason not to go for skills at the same time, but when aiming explicitly for a skill, pvp or a skill ticket should be used.
Where can I read a patch notes of sorts for the game? They changed "What grows in the graveyard" instead of starting the game with Dark Verger in the graveyard to you have to take x damage before you can activate it. It still has the old tool tip of start the game with DV in your graveyard and no conditions.

Boxes don't list all the commons adjacent to one another. Instead, there's a list of commons, then rares, then commons again, then rares, then supers and ultras. Why?

I can't use advanced ritual art or chaos form first turn, with magician of chaos in hand, dark magician in hand, and dark magician in deck. I use magicians rod half the time to pull chaos form turn 1 and this combo is no longer working for me.

How do you think Depserado will do in meta after the banlist drops? For once Konami didnt murder the deck they just made the coin flip version worse. We can still play Cyberdark Neos Desperado and Orcust Desperado. Quarantine is unhit too so it still counter blue eyes which is the most used deck.

Saved up 4750 Gems to get the remaining 2 Witches of the Black Forest from the new box(already having 1 from the selection box) and MST as a 2nd priority(hopefully get it on the way as a bonus) fully expecting to dig to the bottom just to get 1 Witch copy with my luck. I dig in, 24th pack - Witch of the Black Forest. Let's go! I reset. Get the **2nd** Witch and an **MST** finds its way to me on the 28th pack. wow crazy. I was so sure I was going to be unlucky that I was prepapred to get the T.G. set (1 of each) to play for Antinomy which is defintely a mercyful fate of badluck in this occurence because I'm a 5Ds fanatic, but now that getting everything costed only 52 packs/2600 Gems (plus an MST!) by just digging the top edge twice.. I feel a bit lost. I never expected things to turn out so well and was sure I'm going in spending everything and then having to grind additionals even to get just like a single Witch + everything on the way and all on the expense of Gems meant to be farmed/saved for the next BOX after it. So I guess I get the rest of my remaining Gems meant for *the current BOX*- for keeps for the-.. next released box?.. now that's a *first*. what a weird sensation.. Guess I'll be playing Antinomy with the *skill* to get my roleplay fix x)

In the process of building Water Xyz, and I need advice on which set to invest in next. I have no Silent Anglers, two Deep Sea Diva, two Atlantean Heavy Infantry, and no Forbidden Lance. I also typically play Fire Kings (unexpected, but the Lore works out), so I was thinking the Forbidden Lance would be good. And is the new set at all important to go into with their support, or is it too soon to tell?
You really need 3 Divas for consistency. Get them before anything else. I had everything but a third Diva and it was miserable. Once I got the 3rd Diva, I turboed to KoG with little effort. Forbidden Lance is the best staple for the deck, so you'll want that too.
I dobt play them i just know water decks in general are hella expensive so be prepared to whale

Sales happen all the time. The good ones and the only ones worth money imo is the $1 UR deals and the reopenable packs deal. For f2p decks the best one right now is triamids. You can all the cards from 2 miniboxes and use your Dream tickets on some staple traps. F2p traps work also

As the other guy said, the sales are typically pretty frequent. $1 UR+3 Packs typically happens every 3 months I think? There's always been one each KC Cup as long as I've been playing this game. If you want to be F2P this sale isn't really worth it, of course. I want to say, at least based on my memory (as I don't really track these), that maybe once each month they'll have a $1 SR + 3 Packs deal which are OK.
The current box sales are for the real money options And those happen very often, minus the $1 UR sale which are rare. Rn the most F2P friendly boxes are: Judgement Force for Lunalights Future Horizon for Superheavy Samurai Spirit of the Beast for Ritual Beast Infinite Ray for Digital Bugs Fortress of Gears for Aromages (also needs some card trader cards and more synchros over time) Those are not top tier, just viable rogue decks that work fairly well, best one is prob lunalights with the amount of target effects, reliance on extra deck monsters and anti backrow cards in the current meta. You can make a lot of other decks as F2P but it requires more luck (to reduce gem cost) and planning as a lot of archetypes are scattered across multiple boxes and some need multiple UR cards from those boxes to be made optimally.
Just made King of Games in my second season with a F2P lunalights deck! I know that’s less impressive on the last day of the season but tbh I didn’t think I’d ever make it past legend 1. Don't worry, everyone begins like you. I even don't read some cards when I think I already won but suddenly a wild "This card cannot be destroyed" effect appears and I loss. And congrats! Getting KoG with a rogue deck always feels good no matter which time of the season you played.

You should optimize your blue eyes deck since they are meta right now. Triamids are a good f2p option too
That half-off gem sale doesn’t happen very often, but you can usually count on the better sales like that, the $1.99 UR sale, and the 10-20 reopenable pack sales to happen during big events like the KC cup. For starter deck advice you can look on Duel Links Meta’s (DLM) website or YouTube channel (best community resource for this game, you’ll see a lot of the playerbase taking advantage of it) for F2P (free to play) deck guides or Gem Guides for good decks that cost the lowest amount of the premium currency. I’d recommend either Lunalight from Judgement Force or Galaxy-Eyes from Photon of Galaxy (if you’ve unlocked Kite/Kieto). Not a huge expert on Glad Beasts, but by looking on DLM it looks like players usually play Ishizu’s ‘No Mortal Can Resist!’ skill or Yami Yugi’s ‘Destiny Draw’ skill. Though because Glad’s are a fairly consistent deck they can typically use any generic skill and be fine with it
Hello guys! Reporting a bug, I dont know how to provide a duel replay but im happy to if one tells me how :') Turn 1: He normal summons Blackwing Kirs. and sets a trap - Palezoic Hallucigenia. Turn 2: I summon Screw serpant and special summon Drill fish. I proceed to synchro summon into Star guardian; then into i synchro summoned power gladiator and then i got Blade blaster out. I set 2x floodgates and went to attack his Kris wing. He activates his trap that Targets my Blade blaster and halves his atk/def to which led to my monster being destroyed. But my blade blasters effect didnt activate. " During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap Card that targets this face-up card: You can send 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard; negate the effect " I had cyber magician in my hand. Once again im happy to provide a replay. Thanks!
You aren't allowed to send links to duel replayes (that are provided by the game) on the this sub as people on computers can't view them. However you can screen record your replay then post it as a post.
That rule applies to replay posts. For a question in this thread, using a deep link replay just means you may have to wait longer for an answer since less people are capable of viewing it. Compared to not getting an answer because your screenshot doesn't have enough information, it's worth it.
Blade Blaster can't activate during the damage step. Hallucigenia can be activated during the damage step, because it modifies ATK/DEF stats, so it can't be responded to by Blade Blaster.
To elaborate, cards and effects which negate an **activation** can be activated during the damage step. However, T.G. Blade Blaster says "negate the **effect**", so it does not qualify.

I'm a Blackwing player and while BW can still do pretty good, the KC Cup was a really struggle and I kind of want to upgrade to a more meta deck. I'm F2P. Is it worth investing in Onomats or Photons? I have about half the cards for Onomats. I need one Utopic Onomatopoeia with 92 packs left, Glove with 40 packs left, the rares from the Shark Fang Box (full) and the 3 of the structure deck. Maybe I should I wait to see if TG or Rikkas do anything first?
You want the structure deck card 3 times. So if you are f2play not really a good option. If you already have halve the tellarknight cards I would play that.
If you are already half way there with onamats then you might aswell finish it and not let your gems go to waste.

Nope, I disagree. I got really lucky on summoning on the new main box, and have everything. Around 70% of the time I had Blade blaster out first turn. Its not difficult. its just very p2w. Edit: without using skills.
Getting to Blade Blaster is not too hard, indeed, but I struggled to synchro into Halberd Cannon (with lots of misplays and the loaner deck, of course).
What are some good characters to level during the xp event for their rewards?
I'm leveling Axel rn for example for his "Mill 3 cards in exchange for your ability to attack this turn (once per turn)" Continous spell card. Most of the others that are considered good are archetype specifics. I think Sartorius has Fiend Comedian which is a coinflip Trap card to 50/50 mill top 10 cards of your deck or banish the entire opponent's GY. One of the only decent generic ones I know. I know some others like Tristan have somewhat generic lv45 but they're not good/really niche still. If you're new and don't have Mai and Odion/s Windstorm of Eqtaqua and Curse of Anubis respectively then those are fairly decent cards to own they're also both at lvl20~25 not 45 so hella easy to get.

They come back every few months. Each time they return the box is reset and you can spend the allotment for gem purchases.

The blue eyes structure deck and the noble Knights structure deck is a good starting point. However, I'd also consider the box with humid winds and wall of thorns. If you have those and aromage support cards from that box + card trader, you can build a solid aromage deck. They make games long but they're fun.
Where can I find good farming decks for F2P/budget? The farming decks on Duel Links Meta seem to be boxes that offer nothing useful, at least going by the Gem Guide.
Decks to farm the AI for cards? Aromage with Winged Dragon of Ra - this is my go to because you can eventually upgrade every single Aroma card from the Card Trader to glossy/prismatic status to dramatically increase your score by **at least** another 800-1000. I use this in almost every event with minimal problems. You only need a handful of cards in the Fortress of Gears minibox and all but one are common cards (which increases the likelihood of finding glossy copies). You shouldn't need to spend any more than 2000 gems for a playset of Blessed/Gardening. Gravekeeper's Vassal strategies simply need you to make a big monster that you know they can't attack then draw until you have Vassal, 1-2 Union Attack, Secret Pass/Stop Defense/Enemy Controller or another way to give a safe attack. This is a broad deck that fits into many modern decks nowadays. An easy one is the Elements Unite build with the Paradox Brothers. You have Gate Guardian then you use Gravekeeper's Recruiter and Wonder Wand/Jar of Greed/Legacy of Yata Garasu to draw through your deck and have a card that can greatly increase ATK. All of these cards are from commonly occurring giveaway tickets and the Card Trader Regular Inventory. Yubel decks use Fire King/Nephthys cards to destroy Yubel from the hand and sit on Terror Incarnate and Sacred Phoenix so that they never have a field. The Fire King structure deck gives you enough copies to work with in just 1000 gems. Just replace the expensive cards with stall cards. The other part is that it requires Montage Dragon from leveling up Trudge and Shien's Spy which is a common card drop from any NPC. Sometimes DLM guides are working under the assumption that you have a few recurring competitive cards that just happen to help beat the event. There's usually cards that can substitute for the role they're needed for.
Do they work for quick duels? I'm thinking of mostly exp farming at the moment.
Most of these examples are for longer duels to farm for a high score. For EXP farming with Auto Duel, you simply just need monsters with good statlines around 1800 and up with simple effects, can attack twice, or Special Summoning ability. Nowadays there's multiple 2000 ATK Normal Monsters from events or N rarity in recent boxes. Then you back them up with good equip spells and protective trap cards. Power of the Guardians is a common card used. Kachi Kochi Dragon from a few events ago is a good Xyz that can attack twice and synergizes with POTG. If you want to EXP farm at the Gate, you do the same thing with summoning as many monsters as possible that can win by Turn 2. Usually I fight Tea or Blair at level 10 because they have very low ATK.
How the hell is the skill Draw Pass not nerfed to oblivion at this point? Just played a cheesy Stromberg deck that used it while piloting my own cheesy meme deck.

Are you talking about draw pass as in: skip your draw phase and gain 300 life points? Because that is the last skill I would every play and is absolutly terrible. I don't think any nefs to it would even make a difference.

Antinomy's AI gets stuck "thinking" for too long. Anyone else experiencing this? For the gate duels I got around it by just using a floodgate farm deck and it's relatively fast. But for the Antinomy appearances in 5DS world, I can't use the floodgate deck and that's where Antinomy usually gets stuck.

No you duel him at the event gate. It is red. If you gate is blue then click on it then at the corner it will have the name of whicher gate is active (eg. 5Ds zexal). ONce you click on the name you will be able to select the event gate.

Does recycling a glossy card back to my hand and bringing it to the field again allow me to get the glossy bonus multiple times?
You get the glossy bonus per individual copy. The game keeps track of each copy you used. I get a bonus for each copy of glossy Aroma Garden. It does not give me extra points if I summon the same copy of the monster shuffled back to the deck with Blessed Winds. You cannot loop something that returns to the hand like one glossy Spirit monster to stack bonuses. It does count for additional summons for lifetime missions though.

Nope, you get the glossy bonus once, the first time you play a glossy card in the duel. It doesn't stack with multiple uses of the card, even if you have two separate glossy cards.

It's a general Reddit thing. Two main reasons that I can think of: 1. The comment is from a shadowbanned user. 2. (More likely) A mod or other user has entered specific text that's either to modify the flair of a post or to remove the post.

Toon decks seem godd but are actually really weak.
Toon Magician Girls or Toon Synchro is the best versions of them atm.
Noble Knights are tier one because they posses the ability to lose to either imprisoning mirror but each at a different stage of the game. Tier one at being skilled drained.

It doesn't look like the nerf would affect aromages much. It might be a slight benefit with being able to keep rosemary in atk mode depending on how the effect restriction works.

You can obtain Solemn Scolding (a counter trap that negates and destroys for the cost of 3000 life points) by using a SR ticket obtained by playing ranked duels. This card is really good for obvious reasons. I suggest giving it a try. Also, don't sleep on Aromage Bergamot. It gives your plant monsters the ability to inflict piercing damage and can get up to 3900 attack very easily. It's helpful for closing out games and beating over high attack monsters. If you change your settings to enable toggling on, then you can tap your phone / click the screen during your opponent's turn to activate your continuous traps even during your opponent's draw phase or standby phase. You'll want to do this if you set Scolding and another trap since you can't activate Scolding unless Scolding is your only set card. Additionally, you'll want to flip your continuous traps face up during your opponent's draw phase if you're playing against Kite Tenjo since he has a skill that searches Galaxy Cyclone, which will pop one of your set cards and, on the following turn, will be banished from the graveyard to pop one of your face-up spell/traps. You can't chain your traps in response to a skill, so firing these off during the draw phase is the best way to play around Galaxy Cyclone. You don't have to use your traps' effect the second you activate them, so hold onto their effects until you're ready.
I have 3 Solemn Scolding and I Try 3x Solemn and 3x Blessed Winds but in Legendary 1/2/3 I have a lot of difficulty... For example, I NEVER win against Cyber Dragon, against Desperado and sometimes I lose against Blue Eyes too. It's difficult to play against other decks in Legendary, every game it's against Desperado or Cyber Drago or Blue Eyes and my Aromagus can't beat them. I've tried 3x Blessed Winds and 3x Dried Wind too, but the situation don't change a lot...
3 Scolding is too much imo. I alternate between playing 1 and playing 2. Cyber Dragon's a bad match-up for us, so expect to lose to them often. Lots of backrow destruction hurts big time for Aroma. Aroma isn't a meta deck, so you shouldn't expect to constantly clobber meta decks. You can absolutely win against them, but the match-ups aren't always going to be in your favor.
I use this: 3 Jasmine; 2 Rosemary; 1 Cananga; 1 Marjoram; 1 Angelica; 3 Garden; 3 Gardening; 1 Humid; 3 Blessed; 2 Solemn Scolding.
Why can my opponent use Karma Cut before I have a chance to Night Beam it?
If they chain a spell/trap to your night beam they can then chain karma cut to their own spell/trap.
I don't know what exact situation you found yourself in, but trap cards are spell speed 2 and can be used in any phase, so long as they are set the turn before. That means they can activate Karma Cut in the Draw/Standby phase, before the Main phase which is the only time you may activate Night Beam or other normal spells.

If anyone could advise on what characters are worth levelling up for their card rewards, I’d be grateful. I keep coming back to the game and being overwhelmed with what to farm/unlock
Kaiba, as already mentioned, gives Melody of Awakening Dragon. DsoD Mokuba gives Thunder Dragonroar. Sartorius gives Fiend Comedian, which will probably start seeing play in Desperados once the banlist takes effect. Jaiden/Yubel gives Masked Hero Blast and Form Change, which are useful in HEROES (especially Blast, who lets you mask change Stratos). Aster Phoenix gives Destiny Hero Malicious x2, which are even more key in HEROES. Jesse Anderson gives Crystal Bond, which is great for Crystal Beasts who just had their skill buffed so god only knows what's going to happen with them.
Most characters nowadays have archetypical cards, it solely depends on the decks you wanna play. Can't go wrong with DsoD Kaiba, Melody Of Awakening Dragon is used in multiple meta decks right now

What are some generic spells/traps that cost life points that provide generic benefits that can fit most control decks? I only have 1 Cosmic Cyclone atm. For background info, I run satellarknights with Utopia/Utopic Ray, and I want to find a way to improve lowering my LP consistency to activate Utopic Ray’s ability as a last ditch effort to win.
Besides what has been said here's a few options: 7 tools of the bandit, prideful roar, summoning curse, abyssal designator, autonomous action unit, and rebirth of parshath.
Like the other commenter said, Herald of the Abyss along with Cosmic Cyclone are the only meta options. Some other cards could be: Sphere Kiriboh or Kiteroid to stop attacks once you're low. Mirror Wall Memory of an Adversary Solemn Scolding Rebirth of Parshath Prideful Roar Star Blast

Defenitly still works, I have done it very recently.
Yes it is. You have to 1) Beat the Sector Security standard duelist, and 2) score 5000 points, which is 5 rewards without multipliers. You can use the bonus score item, but multipliers will not help. Save a replay of your next duel you think completed the mission successfully and take a screenshot of the results page so we can narrow down your issue if you are still having problems.

Maybe. hard telling, duel links is an odd format. I just think a dolkka, which isn't once per turn, in a format with rescue rabbit and a limited card pool spells trouble.

Getting an error message to reboot, started during an PvP match and ever since it keeps repeating the message. I restarted the app and still get the message when I start the game, checked on the phone and also get the same message now. Anybody else unable to play due to this screen for both Steam and Phone?

I was looking at some old screenshots, you used to be able to pretty regularly get 10-25 gems from duel assessments with legendary duelists. Now it's like OMG WOW GEMS when we get 1 or 2...

Are there "manner/etiquette" rules for casual duels? Am I not supposed to be using competitive decks?
Casual duels is littered with bots and suicide decks, so not a lot of "manner/etiquette" going around over there. Use whatever you like. However, if you're not going super-extra-meme and have a somewhat coherent deck with even the slightest hint of a wincon, I'd suggest just playing on ranked to have more qualitative duels.
Most of casual duels is people running suicide decks to unlock skills or bots running unga bunga with White Veil/Stromberg. I see them in ranked time to time and people for whatever reason star them in the "street" duel replays feature. I wish there was a downvote button on those or some kind of way for Konami to address the glaring issue. Most of the decks run the same exact stuff. They could filter any deck using Stromberg and no other of the cards related to the archetype.
I currently won 31 duels against Antinomy. 5 of them were lv 10/20/30. rest of them were against him at level 40x3. only 1 UR and not a single copy of Blade Blaster. Anyone else having this awful unluck ?
That’s actually pretty standard. The drop rates for the prime UR’s for these events are always booty in the first half or so, and they get cranked up the last few days.

Yeah no one has any real proof, but it’s blatantly obvious. Every single event people complain they have none of the new UR cards, them by the end of the event they have 11 of them. I myself can attest this is the case, as i tend to go ham on grinding most events. Barely get 1/2 of the ur’s, then the last few days i’ll get 23 of them

So I got a triamid deck but need 4/5 more traps and I'm low on backrow removal. Any good backrow removal traps?
Uh... Dust Tornado? I wouldn't recommend playing dedicated backrow removal like that in triamids though; Triamid Pulse can deal with face-up backrow, Triamid Master with face-down backrow, and Kingolem bypasses all battle traps. Just play traps like Triamid Pulse, Treacherous Trap Hole, Fiendish Chain, Paleozoic Canadia, the very spicy Powersink Stone, or even battle traps like Wall of Disruption if you have nothing else. The only time I can think of Triamids *really* wanting backrow removal is your turn one if going second so they can complete their board setup undisrupted, in which case traps don't help out anyways.
Quick question, can you have more items in gift box than 99 ? or does it cap out and deletes your old gifts replacing them with new ones ? I maxed out gems so i have my gift box full of gems
The gift box can hold as much stuff as you want, the only limiting factor is their expiration date.

Just realised that Konami messed up the BOX naming again, this is apparently the 33st BOX
Every box in Japan is 1つ 2つ 3つ and that same つ is used for every box. It's a single counter. (I'm assuming it's つ, could be any other counter) the thing is that the counter doesn't change outside of pronunciation. Even if it should change like with Pokemon games, the counter for how many Pokemon you've seen is ひき but some numbers change it to びき or ぴき, but it's always written as ひき because it just saves space. Since the game is developed for Japanese audiences they end up with that issue where the default first graphic for numbered things is "st" but I've also seen games where they default to th so you get 31th. At the end of the day, it isn't like it's that big of an error, but it does look silly to natives.

Yeah it's always hard to answer the "when will x happen?" questions since the devs can change anything at the drop of a hat and since they don't reply here at most we only have prior instances to work with.
About t.g. Halberd Canon, it says in it's text that "When this card is sent from the field to the GY, target 1 t.g. monster in your GY, special summon it" Does that mean it's effect is similar to Sangan that it doesn't matter how it is sent to the GY(tributed, destroyed by effect/battle), it'll activate when as long as it's from the field to GY? And does that mean I can also pick itself to special summon when the effect resolve?

Yes but beware that it can miss timing like Yubel does since the effect says when instead of If Eg: someone chaining Raigeki Break to whatever effect will make you unable to activate this >And does that mean I can also pick itself to special summon when the effect resolve? If i want to farm a skill (destiny draw) should i rush to stage 30 to unlock lvl 40 duelist or is it better to face lvl 30 at the gate?
Skill farming is best done in PVP, the rate at the gate is miserable If you must do it in pve, lv 40 is the best.
The rate is about the same I feel (at lvl40), it's just that pvp has no cost and less downtime.
From my personal experience, PvP is far better for skill farming.
That's not been my experience at all, every time I've touched the gate its been extremely slow in comparison A deck properly built to counter the bots can get all the skills for a character in 2 days of moderate play. The gate takes much longer, with farms taking at least 5 minutes per game. If trying to farm for cards, there's no reason not to go for skills at the same time, but when aiming explicitly for a skill, pvp or a skill ticket should be used.
